Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it This purchase was my second time purchasing my own color and developer at Sally's. The previous brand I chose irritated my scalp so bad that it itched for about 2 weeks. I did a lot of research for Ion color on this website and saw the sensitive scalp developer recommended on the page. I knew I had to give it a try. I used it today and have had no issues so far. The smell wasn't bad at all. I will definitely purchase again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from it's a developer This is the only developer I've ever used so I don't know how the sensitive scalp thing compares to other developers, but when I applied this to my roots it felt like it was mildly burning. It didn't leave an actual mark or anything but just a really weird sensation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Developer on the market.. This is the best developer on the market, or at least out of the ones that I have tried, and there have been a few. This one does not cause your scalp to burn while you are bleaching and going lighter with powdered bleach. It is a very nice formula, and the Ion Powder Bleach is also fantastic for lifting. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So glad i switched Being someone who suffers from patches of psoriasis of the scalp now and again, I can honestly tell you how much I use to hate developer. It stinks, it burns, and would leave my scalp irritated afterwards. Then I switched to this brand of developer, and oh my goodness what a difference. I won't sit here and tell you your scalp will be itch free during the dying/bleaching process b/c that would be stupid. However, it doesn't have the burning sensation you can get with other developers, and my scalp is noticeably less irritated afterwards. PLUS this stuff smells fantastic, you almost want to eat the darn stuff right out of the bottle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent This is the first separate developer I have used. I have always used premixed boxed hair color, or had it done at a salon. I am a regular at coloring my hair. Unfortunately, I noticed the past 4 or 5 times I had my hair colored at the salon I would get sores on my head, skin would tingle and get warm while i was processing. I was told that I probably had an allergic reaction to the color or developer. No one ever told me that there was such a thing as a sensitive formula. I thought coloring was going to be a thing of the past. The lady at Sally's recommended this product. I had already checked reviews out on this site and knew it was highly rated. So, I went with it. I admit that the price was also great, on sale for 1.99 a bottle with my card. I noticed right away when using it that there really isn't a smell (bad one), it isn't harsh or burning, measures easily, as well as blends completely. After using the entire bottle I went back this week and purchased a second. My hair feels great, looks great, not dry or fried. Which is a miracle considering it has been dyed 4 times this week, as well as having the color stripped from it once. I used this developer with the Ion Color Creme, and a Wella Color as well. When I rinse my hair out in the shower it is soft and untangled which never happens when I color.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Didn't work for me I didn't find that this made any difference from the other developer I used as far as the burning and itchy scalp. One of the staff recommended using it with Ion color instead of the Wella Color Charm I normally use, so I am going to try that next and see if that's better.

how to use ion sensitive scalp developer 20

Asked by: mustapha
Hello and thank you for your question. ion Sensitive Scalp 20 Volume Crème Developer can be mixed with any permanent hair color or lightener when the directions call for 20 Volume hydrogen peroxide. The creamy viscosity will allow for either bottle or bowl and brush application. Superior color results when used with ion Color Brilliance Crème or Liquid Permanent Hair Color. Keep cap tightly closed and store in a cool location.
