Shimmer Lights Conditioner is rated 3.391304347826087 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not really a conditioner I use this product with the Shimmer Lights shampoo, and it does provide additional toning to my natural gray and dyed blonde that I am growing out and blending. However, it is very thin and I use an extra amount of it to cover my hair. It would probably work better as suggested by others to be mixed with a thicker conditioner to spread more evenly. Because this product is thin on its own, you need to make sure to rinse it out well otherwise you will end up with purple patches. It does have a strong spicy (clove?) smell to it, but it doesn't bother me; personal preference I suppose.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightened my hair I have very fine, baby like hair. I did not notice an improvement in conditioning but it did lighten my hair which I loved. With the yellow removed, a platinum color emerged which is beautiful and I didn't have to use bleach to get it. Not sure how this works on anyone else's hair but this is what happened to mine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Adds blue/purple This works well after a purple is not conditioning. I always mix it with another very conditioning conditioner. It does take out some more yellow and pump in a little purple and blue.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from AWFUL smell, no difference in my hair color This shampoo and conditioner are the equivalent of putting money down the drain. They smell AWFUL and that includes after rinsing, drying, and using a great smelling styling product. All that and I can STILL smell it. Plus, it made ZERO difference in my hair color. My stylist advised to use it every wash the first couple weeks, then use it every second or third wash. I've done this and my hair is still as gold as when I started using it. This product is the equivalent of washing money down the drain. I wish I could return them. I surely will never, ever buy them again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for silver hair If you're going for silver hair, this stuff is perfect! My first use I thought it smelled pretty weird and had a strange consistency, but when I saw the results I realized it was worth it! My bleached blonde hair gets brassy VERY easily and when you're trying to have silver hair you can imagine that's annoying. I apply this weekly as if it were a dye to dry hair for between 20-30 minutes (much less time needed if you don't want a grey/silver/purple tint) and it works wonders. This is the best toning product I've ever used, yes, including the wella toners!! It might not be the most moisturizing but still a lot better for your hair than using peroxide and a lot less drying than its' shampoo counterpart! It deposits a lot of color into your hair so if you're just trying to get rid of brassiness this might not be for you. But with the lack of silver dyes on the market, this stuff is the bomb. Only con I would say is that for my long, thick hair, I need quite a lot to get even coverage, as it's quite obvious if you miss spots because it is so pigmented, and at $16CAD it's a bit pricey...however, still worth it I'd say!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ehh Tones really well but isn't very conditioning. Its basically a thick toner that has been put into conditioner bottle. I found that when mixed with a white deep conditioner its a lot better but I'd rather not shell out the money when there are purple conditioners and masks that work better

Rated 4 out of 5 by from smell This stuff smells great. I love the smell of freshly dyed hair and that is what it reminds me of. The Shampoo specifically says use twice every wash and I do and it works perfectly well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Save your money I don't understand the high ratings for this runny, smelly, non-conditioning conditioner. Unfortunately for me, I relied on those reviews to buy this companion product. This is, hands down, the worst "conditioner" I've ever used. After three attempts on three different days, my hair was not easy to comb out, it smelled like chemicals and it was dull, even after using my high-end Ionic hair dryer. Clairol Shimmer Lights Shampoo for blonde/gray is the complete opposite. It smells fresh and fabulous and gives even my thin color treated blonde hair glorious shine. I'm going back to my former sulphate free conditioner. The Shimmer Lights conditioner I received was not as advertised and was a total waste of money.

Does this work on naturally blonde hair or only dyed hair?

I bought a bottle of the shampoo and conditioner and used it in the shower but it didn't do very much at all. My hair is naturally blonde with some brown and red mixed into it so it's got a lot of brassiness. Is this stuff supposed to work on naturally blonde hair?
