smell This stuff smells great. I love the smell of freshly dyed hair and that is what it reminds me of. The Shampoo specifically says use twice every wash and I do and it works perfectly well. March 12, 2014
Save your money I don't understand the high ratings for this runny, smelly, non-conditioning conditioner. Unfortunately for me, I relied on those reviews to buy this companion product. This is, hands down, the worst "conditioner" I've ever used. After three attempts on three different days, my hair was not easy to comb out, it smelled like chemicals and it was dull, even after using my high-end Ionic hair dryer. Clairol Shimmer Lights Shampoo for blonde/gray is the complete opposite. It smells fresh and fabulous and gives even my thin color treated blonde hair glorious shine. I'm going back to my former sulphate free conditioner. The Shimmer Lights conditioner I received was not as advertised and was a total waste of money. February 2, 2014
Eh. I bought this because I heard a lot of great reviews on how people toned their hair to white using this by leaving it on for a while and since it was conditioner, it would help make my hair softer since its pretty damaged. I left it on for a little bit, just to see what would happen. And it didn't tone my hair at all. My hair stayed the exact same color. So then I decided I could leave it on a bit longer and it dyed all the bits of my hair that were already white, purple. Its also really hard to move through my hair if its not completely drenched and I have a lot of hair so I went through a 1/3rd of the bottle within two days and the price is not that lovely when you go through it so fast. The smell isn't terrible, but I don't like it and it did nothing to add moisture or help my damage at all. Disappointed. January 9, 2014
Not enough conditioning for silver hair This product does not work well at all for my long silver hair. It is the fifth product specifically for silver hair that I've tried, and the least preferred I've used. Every time I have to use this, I need to mix it with another label conditioner to even get it IN my hair. I have to use about 4x more of this product than I do of any other product, even for my long hair for as soon as I try to put it on, it feels as if it has evaporated in my hair - no matter how much I put on my hair feels rough, stringy and super dried out as if I'd just shampooed and not used conditioner at all. The conditioner feels very rich and creamy in my hand, but as soon as I put it in my hair, it does not smooth the cuticle at all. In fact, it feels like I've just rubbed lemon juice through my hair. It does not detangle my hair - I spend more time trying to comb out my long hair and get more snags and knots than any regular conditioner. I do not feel it adds any body to my hair, or enhance the shine as I get an equal amount of shine from using the shampoo *without* the conditioner. The scent of this product is very "mannish" and chemical-smelling, and the fragrance reminds me of a 1970's beauty salon: its not aesthetically pleasing to use this product. This chemically masculine smell lingers in my hair even after its dry. I get far better results for my fine, long and silver hair from any other product except this. I don't recommend it at all.
