Excellent for silver hair If you're going for silver hair, this stuff is perfect! My first use I thought it smelled pretty weird and had a strange consistency, but when I saw the results I realized it was worth it! My bleached blonde hair gets brassy VERY easily and when you're trying to have silver hair you can imagine that's annoying. I apply this weekly as if it were a dye to dry hair for between 20-30 minutes (much less time needed if you don't want a grey/silver/purple tint) and it works wonders. This is the best toning product I've ever used, yes, including the wella toners!! It might not be the most moisturizing but still a lot better for your hair than using peroxide and a lot less drying than its' shampoo counterpart! It deposits a lot of color into your hair so if you're just trying to get rid of brassiness this might not be for you. But with the lack of silver dyes on the market, this stuff is the bomb. Only con I would say is that for my long, thick hair, I need quite a lot to get even coverage, as it's quite obvious if you miss spots because it is so pigmented, and at $16CAD it's a bit pricey...however, still worth it I'd say! Ehh Tones really well but isn't very conditioning. Its basically a thick toner that has been put into conditioner bottle. I found that when mixed with a white deep conditioner its a lot better but I'd rather not shell out the money when there are purple conditioners and masks that work better February 5, 2015
smell This stuff smells great. I love the smell of freshly dyed hair and that is what it reminds me of. The Shampoo specifically says use twice every wash and I do and it works perfectly well. March 12, 2014
Save your money I don't understand the high ratings for this runny, smelly, non-conditioning conditioner. Unfortunately for me, I relied on those reviews to buy this companion product. This is, hands down, the worst "conditioner" I've ever used. After three attempts on three different days, my hair was not easy to comb out, it smelled like chemicals and it was dull, even after using my high-end Ionic hair dryer. Clairol Shimmer Lights Shampoo for blonde/gray is the complete opposite. It smells fresh and fabulous and gives even my thin color treated blonde hair glorious shine. I'm going back to my former sulphate free conditioner. The Shimmer Lights conditioner I received was not as advertised and was a total waste of money. February 2, 2014
