Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 12 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Easy to use, long-lasting I wanted a perm to help my naturally wavy hair have more volume and hold a style (I often set my hair in pin curls - old fashioned, yes but economical and durable. I used this perm 6 months ago (hair between chin and shoulder length), and the curl is still there in very good form! It was very straightforward to use, though I asked a family member to apply the solutions and that was a good decision. I decided to air-neutralize the perm first for a while (allow the hair to rest for at least 30 minutes after rinsing out the first solution) because that step creates a sturdy, lasting wave and curl. Then I neutralized with the liquid neutralizer provided. This was the best perm I've ever had! On 1/2" rods, there are waves and curls and body and it looks natural - with curl, not just an s-shaped wave. With plenty of TLC, it has stayed strong and healthy and shiny. You'll need your own end papers and cotton or paper towels around your face to control drips. Get some plastic stabilizer picks too and slide them under the perm rod fasteners to hold everything together while you rinse! March 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by used it as a relaxer/straightener My biracial son wanted to have a new hairstyle and it was impossible to achieve without chemically straighten his hair. First we tried "ethnic hair" relaxer, did do the job. So I went back to my "perm" days and ta-daa perfect, silky straight hair. Instead of putting rods I just dabbed to liquid in to his hair, combed it pin straight at let the perm do its magic. I did same thing with neutralizer , rinse hair, put the neutralizer, comb the hair pin straight, against his scalp and after 10 minutes he rinsed it off.. It has been month and a half, hair is straight, I am ordering a new kit so we can do the new growth. October 9, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by One 'n Only Moisturizing Alkaline Perm I love this perm and have used it for several years! I have a head full of baby-fine straight hair and need a perm once or twice a year to add volume. I roll my my own perm using mesh papers and plastic perm picks to keep it tight. A friend (and occasionally my husband) helps with the back. Always happy with the end results! June 28, 2014

Hello, and thank you for your question. It is not recommended to use brush rollers because the hair will not be smooth and brush rollers can scratch the scalp, not a good idea when applying perm lotions. Irritation and or breakage will occur.

I have fine grey hair. Is this perm good for my hair type. I don't want kink, just soft curls and waves.
