What is a deep cleansing mask? How often should it be used?

Deep-cleansing masks remove excess oil and dirt along with dead skin cells to give the skin a smoother texture and healthy glow. There are two types of masks: wash-off (usually clay-based) and peel-off (a liquid film which dries to a peelable sheet). Because clay masks are effective oil absorbers, they're best for oily or combination skins. Women with combination skin may want to apply a mask to the t-zone area only. If your skin is dry to normal, try using a weekly deep cleansing mask that is less drying. And, if your skin is dry or sensitive, try a weekly moisturizing peel-off mask.
