Will a buffing sponge damage my skin?

Buffing sponges can be used safely if used moderately—less than a minute—and gently, with very light pressure. Don't use a buffing sponge with an abrasive cleanser. If you have oily skin, you may want to exfoliate with a buffing sponge twice weekly. If your skin is normal to dry, once every week or two should be adequate. Be sure to rinse the pad thoroughly after each use to deter bacterial growth. Buffing sponges may be too harsh for sensitive skin. Do not use a buffing sponge on pimples, acne or broken skin. For a gentler touch, try an exfoliating facial pad or a dry cleansing cloth that has an exfoliating side.
