Additional Information

  • Use for hair that is:
  • Too weak or fine to take a perm or relaxer
  • Is mushy when wet and brittle after drying
  • Breaks when combed or brushed
  • Will not hold color
  • Is over bleached

This unique treatment is formulated with magnesium and modified proteins which fuse into the hair with the application of heat. The result is that breakage is drastically reduced. During the process, ApHogee treatment hardens into the hair, dramatic evidence that something special is occurring. Restores lost moisture and hair becomes more manageable, flexible and strong. Breakage and split ends stop while hair looks and feels better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from quick question I got this product and it's great I do have a question though does anyone know if after doing this treatment when you dye ur hair it changes the way the color takes? I had mine silver and once my roots grew in and went to dye them and my hair color went orange/red not sure if the protein did that or my hairdresser messed up. she has been doing my hair for 3 years and nothing like this had happen before

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Damaged and mushy hair? BUY THIS Regrettably, I tried out a new stylist to upkeep the blonde bayalage/highlights I had for the past 2 years. After a mess of a hurricane, my hair was damaged, mushy, gummy, weak, and falling out in CHUNKS. I had lost all hope and then remembered about this product that I had used years ago. BEST THING EVER. Step 1: leave in the treatment and gently low blow dry on heat. DO NOT AGITATE YOUR HAIR! Step 2: Once its hardened, gently and thoroughly rinse with lukewarm water and apply the conditioner. MAGIC! Your hair will miraculously go back to normal health! Remember, it's not magic, however, this is the best, fastest, most convenient and inexpensive way to reverse severe damage!! ALSO: the Keratin & Green tea spray from aphogee does wonders!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Softens and strengthens I just tried this for the first time and it seems to work. Less breakage while drying. Also my hair is super soft and not weighed down. I used a blow dryer and it worked well just blowing it dry until it was hard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great on my 3b/3c hair I purchased this yesterday and used it last night! I am natural and color treated and was experiencing some shedding. I usually get a protein treatment by my stylist but my appointment isn't for a few weeks, plus this is much cheaper. My hair is soooo manageable and soft after using this treatment. I used the blow dryer to harden Step 1 of the treatment. I suggest using something to catch any drippage around your edges. Also the directions tell you to wash your hair before starting the process, I did not wash my hair and my results were awesome. I used all of both packets!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT It works but I guess a I am having another issue cause one side is still shedding, I did the other treatment and it is still shedding on that side and I made sure it was put on there this time. I know my family has issues so it could be hereditary.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply amazing! Wow! I just used this last night with not a lot of hope as nothing has worked in the past but I woke up this morning and my hair looks so much better! About 5 years ago a hair dresser destroyed my hair. Prior to that hairdressers were always impressed with my hair and how well it looked since I have been coloring my hair since I was 13. That all came to an end when this gal killed my hair, it hasn't been the same since. Super frizzy, lots of breakage and split ends and so forth. I will trim my hair to get rid of all the split ends and within days it looks awful again. You could feel how dry my hair was. Not anymore! It didn't fix it 100% but almost. I think one more treatment will do the trick! I am so excited for my hair to look good again!! LOVE this stuff!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great way to relax frizz I have paid hundreds for Keratin treatment, Brazilian blow out- etc to get my hair straight. I have very curly hair in the front and wavy in the back. I use this once every couple of months and it is as good as a beauty salon Keratin treatment. You have to follow the directions. I use a diffuser to dry the stuff on my head. I have thick shoulder length so instead of using two packs, I buy it in a bottle.

Does this fade color treated hair? I just recently touched up my roots, and I really don't want it to fade. I just have a lot of breakage (from a bad bleach job months ago), that I'm still trying to recover from. I was recommended this product.

I purchased 3 sets of this product and 2 are buried under the sink. I had better rrsults moisturizing my hair with plain old coconut oil. As far as hair color i didn't notice any changes.

I used henna on my hair about 2 months ago, will using Aphogee react badly with the Henna since henna stays in your hair shaft and doesn't lift like hair color? My shoulder-length hair is very fine textured, thin, curly with porous ends and fairly dry.

Asked by: jetttaylor
It's a superficial protein treatment. It will not lift henna or hair dye. It simply coats the hair with protein as a quick fix to damaged hair, and eventually washes out.

I used the ApHogee 2 step tx for the 1st time yesterday, my hair became horribly dry last night, Coconut Oil applied, AM I noticed a lot more shedding occurring. Is it normal for this to happen? Can step 2 be used alone to continue to add moisture?

Asked by: Crackerjack
I would look at anything else you added to your routine, because the odds of it being step two are highly unlikely. Step one is a protein treatment, which will strengthen but won't do anything about moisture. Step two is there to balance your hair out and prevent any breakage from having too much protein and not enough moisture. Basically, it's not step two that dried your hair out because it's just a regular deep conditioner. And yes, it can be used alone to add moisture. I would assume you bleached or dyed your hair recently if you're using the two step and coconut oil. That's more likely why your hair feels dry and is shedding. Keep in mind, we shed about 100 hairs a day. It could very well be normal shedding.

Can this treatment be used if you put relaxers on your hair?

Asked by: Laffy taffy
Yes, it's only a superficial protein treatment. Which means it's only going to coat the outside of your hair, and eventually wash out. It won't affect your relaxer.

Does that protein alter the hair color ex: I have silver hair was re touching my roots and when hairdresser finished it was red/orange could the protein have had anything to do with it?

Asked by: Carlz 111
Yep. It usually left my blonde with a red/orange tint after. Nothing a violet conditioner couldn't fix.

The writing on the package is so small, can you tell ne the directiions fir step one

Asked by: Vellis51
This is how I use it 1) Clarifying shampoo (I generally use sulfate free unless I'm getting rid of buildup). 2) Towel dry so that my hair is wet but not dripping. It'll make application easier and more even. 3) Pour the protein treatment into a bowl and apply it with a brush. This stuff is sticky af and will harden as it dries. Try not to brush it. 4) Blow dry until all of your hair is super crunchy. Don't be tempted to manipulate it too much. 5) Rinse out with warm water. 6) This is when you put in step two, the deep conditioner. It says to leave it in for a couple of minutes, I generally leave it in for 20min. 7) Rinse out, and boom. Super soft hair!
