One 'N Only Argan Oil Hair Color Cream Developer 20 Volume 5 5 3 3
Great Developer Since the hair color had come out for this product, I have only used this developer with it. I am very happy with the results. No heavy smells and works well with the hair color. May 26, 2013
Best smelling developer ever It truly doesn't smell like developer; it's low ammonia and you can tell. They added some fragrance (nothing too crazy, but noticable) and it makes coloring a bit more pleasant. I almost bought the generic but I'm glad I gave this a try. July 1, 2012
good developer This developer is not damaging. Ain't too smelling either. Its very gentle on my hair.I brought the last bottle at sally's today! There was only one left vol 20 developer! Its alright I don't need a high volume developer. I test it on a strand of hair that fell out on my brush. It didn't really damage my hair. Kind of weird yeah. I used it with a cheap feria shimmer oil.Drugstore bleach kind. But at at least I know how the developer works on my hair. June 27, 2012

A:
It depends on how much you want to lift your hair color. Volume 10 is for when you want to only add a tone to it, Volume 20 when you want to lighten it up to two shades, Volume 30 if you want to lighten up to three shades, and so on. Then there's activating lotion, which is usually under a volume of 10 and meant for only depositing temporary color.
