20 Volume Argan Oil Hair Color Cream Developer is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Developer Since the hair color had come out for this product, I have only used this developer with it. I am very happy with the results. No heavy smells and works well with the hair color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best smelling developer ever It truly doesn't smell like developer; it's low ammonia and you can tell. They added some fragrance (nothing too crazy, but noticable) and it makes coloring a bit more pleasant. I almost bought the generic but I'm glad I gave this a try.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good developer This developer is not damaging. Ain't too smelling either. Its very gentle on my hair.I brought the last bottle at sally's today! There was only one left vol 20 developer! Its alright I don't need a high volume developer. I test it on a strand of hair that fell out on my brush. It didn't really damage my hair. Kind of weird yeah. I used it with a cheap feria shimmer oil.Drugstore bleach kind. But at at least I know how the developer works on my hair.

Which # of developer is best to use for covering grey hair?  Would I use # 20, #30, or #40?

Asked by: Laura Getz
For grays we just need a color deposit which can be achieved with a 10vol developer, but I suggest 20vol for more durability, for strong grays 45 minutes.

Can I mix this product with amy other brand of hair color?

Asked by: Sunny Smart
Yes, the store worker said okay to use with any color. I've colored my hair twice with it and noticed a big difference. My hair felt healthier, shinier and not so dry... But, in conjuction with oil creme developer, I put Absolute Perfections Step 1 Booster into hair color and I believe these two products made a big difference.

how much argan oil hair color permanent color cream do you add to the argan oil hair color cream developer 20 volume?

Asked by: cheesy 52
The mix is 1 part cream color with 1 part cream developer, for a 3oz Mix. But I worked it 2 parts of creme developer and 2 parts color, and color looks more intense. The usual = 1oz cream developer + 1oz cream color for 3oz. Happy coloring!

30 developer will lighten shade three times, I don't understand, so will it give the same shade which I bought

Asked by: Rani
Hello and thank you for your question. It’s not that 30 volumes lightens the hair three times, it is that it can lighten the hair up to three levels. This does not mean that it would necessarily get to three levels of lightening. It will depend on the condition of the hair and its porosity. 30 volume is also a pretty aggressive developer and processes the hair faster than 10 or 20 volume, so it has to be watched more than the lower volumes. Developer does not give you the same shade as a purchased color 3 levels lighter than the natural shade level. What developer does is open the hair cuticle up in order to allow for any changes in color. The more that the cuticle is open the permanent changes to the color can be made.

How do I know what number developer I should use?

Asked by: blondie
It depends on how much you want to lift your hair color. Volume 10 is for when you want to only add a tone to it, Volume 20 when you want to lighten it up to two shades, Volume 30 if you want to lighten up to three shades, and so on. Then there's activating lotion, which is usually under a volume of 10 and meant for only depositing temporary color.

I was told to use the whole bottle of cream developer to half a tube of the permanent color cream. Is that true? Or do I mix them together? the bottle says to 2 parts cream developer to 1 part permanent color cream. I hope that's right.
