You should definitely find a quality base and top coat otherwise even after soaking in acetone, you'll need to scrape the heck out of your nails to remove the polish. I eventually switched to Gellish and then subsequently to OPI. What I noticed when I switched (to either of the aforementioned brands) was after soaking in acetone for 10 minutes, the polish bubbled off of my nails and if I did need to scrape residual polish off, it was easy to remove. That did NOT happen with the ASP brand. Do yourself a favor and find a brand that soaks off easily. ASP does not.

I have been using gelish base coat for a couple of years and my nails always last at least a week and a half. I have used ASP gel color and was happy with the results, so when I ran low on foundation and top coat, I thought I would try the ASP base coat because I liked their color and they had a great sale. I have done my nails twice now, each time with entire nails worth of gel peeling off at a time after a couple of days. Same process I have always used, with the only change being the ASP base and top. Really disappointed.

I've been using Gelish Foundation base coat. I bought the ASP to try a different brand and it was about half the price. The ASP is very thin. I like being about to manipulate the thicker formula better. I will be returning ASP base coat.
