Rated 5 out of 5 by from Met my Expectations I have dark brown hair and I have always wanted to add cute colors in, but have always been fearful of bleaching after hearing so many negative comments. I finally found this product and thought to give it a try to lighten my hair. I did sections rather than my whole head and used a 30 developer. The color wasn't intense but I could definitely see the golden tone, but this is also my first time coloring my hair so I applied it thinly. After I added some turquoise and for the first time ever I finally have color in my hair and it pops! As far as maintenance I don't know what to expect but I had to make sure to make a comment on this product because it changed everything! Next I want to try a lighter blonde to see how much of a difference I can get. So Excited!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Read For Best Results FYI- This is suppose to be used on virgin hair, so for those of you using it on your pre-dyed hair, its obviously going to be a little brassy. The roots of my hair lifted with the ash blond with no red at all. How i used this.... I have dark brown hair naturally, but dyed it lighter last summer, then darker a couple months later. DAY 1: If you have previously dyed hair, i would suggest stripping the hair color out first. DON'T BLEACH IT OUT. I know this from experience and learned the hard way lol. your hair should be a nasty orange by then, but still in good shape. USE A DEEP CONDITIONER OR HAIR MASK AFTER THIS & leave in for at least 40min. DAY 2: If you use the ash blonde over it, it should be a medium golden blonde. I used the Wella toner in T18 over that to cancel some of the yellowy color out. On my hair i should have actually waited a day and used another bottle of the ash blond to lift it some more, which i'm going to do in a couple of days. Right now its a mix of light grey, ash blonde, and golden blonde. I've gotten so many compliments on it though. This process was soooo much better on my hair than bleaching the color out first. I'm sure if i had never dyed my hair, i could have achieved this color in a lot less steps, but im just happy that my hair feels as healthy as it did before.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Its a great product I am not sure why other people are not happy with this product, because It developed the color that was on the color swatch. dont know maybe they are choosing the wrong color for their hair. I used honey blonde and have natural dark brown hair. if you mix it and apply it according to directions it is perfect. I am very very happy with the results, for once I did not have to pre-lighten my hair to go blonde.it looks natural and does not look like a bleached out effect. it goes perfect with my tan skin tone

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Bad Before using this product I had faded red hair from using a demi dye months before. Naturally I have medium brown hair and my under layers are extremely dark, so in hopes of lighting them up and covering up the red I decided to use this. The combination of my past red hair and just the brass tones this leaves left my hair almost orange. I used cool tone shampoos and conditioners for about two to three weeks before it finally became the blonde that I wanted. Considering the fact that it did lighten my extremely dark hair I would recommend it, just be prepared for some brass and invest in some cool toned shampoos.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from DONT DO THIS TRUST ME!!! i read the reviews n a couple said it left there hair a bit brassy so my smart self said hmm? let me use some unred drops in this, big no no it left my naturally black hair like a swamp green. so if u use this do not use unred with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from not too bad... I must say that for my experience it was great!!I did use it on hair that was previously bleached, also with a 30vl liquid peroxide, and the color came out nicely where it was already lightened, as for the roots there wasn't too much of a lift ,but acceptable for black/brown hair,...did leave them a little redish, but nothing to worry about...re-coloring should cancel it right out or even with a toner....and it does not damage hair too much, mine actually came out felling very soft and no bad smell. I would reccomend a 40vl on healthier hair, but overall I love the outcome

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Turned my hair brassy red! This product turned my medium and dakr brown hair an ugly brassy red, and now it appears damaged. I'm very unhappy, and I would not recommend this product to anyone. Very disappointed!

can you use this after you have dyed your hair before

Asked by: Anonymous
Yes. Strip that hair color out first though. DON'T BLEACH IT OUT. If you don't, it will come out brassy, just like any other blonde hair dye, and your hair will be a lot more damaged and weighed down.

How many boxes would I need for my hair and extensions?

I have pretty short hair, just goes past my shoulders, and it's not very thick, but I also have 18 inch real human hair extensions. I saw a review on youtube and a girl said she had to use 6 boxes and her hair was just a little bit longer than mine, but that seems pretty ridiculous. help?
Asked by: anonymous
My hair is down to my belly button medium thickness, and i only needed 2 bottles. However i had to go over it again to get a more ash blonde color, so it ended up being 4 bottles. Either she didn't mix it with the developer properly, or she had to go over it again like i did. Id say go for 3 bottles. 2 for your hair, and one for the extension. you'll probably still have some left over.

can i use this to dye all my hair?

I bought the wrong dye and i plan on dying all my hair but i bought this one and it says HIghlight . so i was wondering if i can still use this?
Asked by: nanchan
YES. Its just like any other dye. They just used the term "highlights" as an excuse to put less product & still charge the same price

What will happen if I use this product on my dyed dark brown hair? Will it have any effect? Does it just work on virgin hair that is naturally dark?

Asked by: Anonymous
This product can produce vibrant blond highlights on dark hair without the need for pre-lightening. If you use heat, a one-step process takes about 15 minutes; if heat is not used, allow yourself 30 minutes.

Can you use this as an all over haircolor? It says it's for highlights only.

Looking for a high lift blonde to color my hair/roots that does not contain any ammonia or peroxide...Does something like that exist? Thank you! I have light brown to dark blonde hair naturally.
