Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great if you like hair loss This product did not remove the brassiness from my blonde hair, but it did, however, remove tons of hair from my head. This product is extremely abrasive & there should be a warning sign for the amount of hair you will lose. No itchy scalp & I followed the directions as indicated. I suggest passing up on this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stripped my toner I colour my hair ash blonde and it typically starts off a bit brassy so I tone with ash blonde toner. I tried this out and found it seemed to pull more of the toner out of my hair so it's more brassy than it was before. Clearly it works well for a lot of people, but it may depend on the colour you start with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really whitens my ash blonde I tried this about three weeks after bleaching and coloring with wella 12a. Our water isn't great so I've had some brass. Washed my hair with the generic purple shampoo (also from Sally's) and let it sit for about five minutes. Toweled damp and then rubbed the product with a tsp of water and applied. Lather is nice, and I let it sit for 5 minutes. Rinsed out and wow, it's nice!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I use this once or twice a month with my highlights now I have balayage hair and will try it out with that in a couple of weeks and see how it goes. Does anyone have any recommendations for affordable purple shamp+conditioner for treated blonde hair?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked Beautifully! About a month ago I went white blonde. I'm naturally light blonde anyway so my hair is really porous. This leads to any sheen, brightness, or any color for that matter dulling super quickly. After all of the purple shampoo my hair was grey. Which is cool if you like that- about I don't ha! Anyway I took this to the shower with me after I used Manic Panics Virgin Snow for a few hours and this took all remaining dullness MPVS didn't get, out like magic! I'm now back to my freshly highlighted white blond again- LOVE LOVE LOVE this!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blonde Blonde! Used it for the first time. Worked very well for me. Not too drying, no "horrible" smell, really brightened my blonde hair. I like it better than any of the purple shampoos.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Out with the brassy, in with the sassy! I have tried a couple of other Sally's blonde brightening products, and this by far does the best job! My blonde gets a little brassy after about 3 weeks at which point I will use this. My skin is sensitive and this product is a bit intense...it will tingle if I rub it into my scalp so I just avoid doing that and everything is peachy. After I've shampooed and conditioned, I will leave it in for 20 or so mins, rinse and use just a little conditioner to bring back the softness because, like others have indicated, this is a bit drying on the hair. However, after all of that, my hair is much more ashy/white and super soft! Love this stuff. I wish they made a shampoo.

Can you use on highlighed hair without effecting the dark hair?

Asked by: Shortydiva71
Yes! I have high and low lights and this product does not affect the low lights, but definitely brightens the blonde. One of my favorite products for sure!

I tried this amazing packet yesterday and what a difference! I was wondering how often can I use it without damaging my hair? For instance, every week or 2 weeks, or longer in between treatments? Thank you

Asked by: Rachels1975
I use once weekly just to freshen up my color. Also use protein cocktail after every shampoo. Hope this helps

Is this a color stripper or color remover?

Asked by: AriannaK
The sole purpose of this product is to reduce the brassiness in blonde hair, I just used this product last night on my silver-toned hair and while it did take out much of the silver, I don't think it's quite powerful enough to completely remove any colors, especially anything other than pastels. Beyond the zone does have a color remover packet though!

My sister, who is supposed to be a hairdresser, colored my roots last wk, & my roots turned ORANGE!!! I am dying!! Can anyone help Please??? I have color but don't know how to fix it. Thank you So much!

Asked by: LeeAnnKK
It is normal for darker hair to turn orange after the first bleaching. I would recommend deep conditioning your hair and (if your hair is in good enough condition), bleach again. Your hair will probably be a pale yellow color after the second bleaching. This is the initial color you should aim for. Once you have a pale yellow color, you can choose a toner or a blonde hair dye (not bleach) to tone out the yellow. Toners don't work on orange hair, so you need to first achieve the pale yellow color. If you are uncertain whether your hair is in good enough condition for multiple bleachings, I insist that you do a hair strand first. Everyone's hair reacts differently, so if your hair is not in good enough condition for bleaching, it can break and/or fall out. If you determine that your hair cannot take another bleaching, choose a ashy or neutral hair dye that is in the same color range or darker than your current orange color (hair dyes deposit color, hair bleaches strip color and can be more harsh on the hair). Please note that if you chose a blonde hair dye that is lighter than your current color, it will not lighten your hair. Only bleach can lighten hair. I recommend choosing a cool/achy hair shade to cancel out the orange. As for toners, I have seen many positive reviews of Wella toners on UTube. I recommend checking out UTube and watching the video reviews of people's hands-on experience with toners. I haven't tried this "Bold Blonde Treatment" so I cannot vouch for it, but to my understanding it is a quick fix for hair that has already previously been bleached and toned, but is beginning to become brassy again. I don't think it will do much for orange hair. I am not a professional, but I have many years of experience "experimenting" with my own hair. I hope this info was helpful. Good luck :-)

Will this strip any color treated hair besides toning the brassiness?

Asked by: SarahBean
In my experience Bold Blond is a fabulous product and is my "go to" whenever my hair starts to look dull and ashy. It is especially helpful if you have accidentally overtoned parts of your hair, (think of ends that come out purple gray!). This product was the answer to my prayers when my experimentation with a new toner color, left me looking like the wicked witch of the west. It was bad. Bold Blond to the rescue! It stripped out the ash, and left me with a beautiful blond color. I also like to use this product to refresh my blond color after having used "one too many" temporary color rinses. As always, I highly recommend that you do a strand test first and follow up with a quality conditioner. Good luck!

I have naturally blonde / strawberry blonde hair. During the summer I put Sun-In into my hair to lighten it up a  bit.  I was wondering if this product would work to lighten my natural hair color?
