Additional Information

  • Gently cleanses hair and scalp
  • Removes product residue
  • Preserve moisture

As I Am Coconut CoWash is the way to cleanse your hair most of the time. This light no-suds conditioning cream gently spreads easily throughout your hair and removes residue including all of the things you've used to style and maintain your coils and curls.

Coconut Cowash is different from any other because it contains a special blend of natural ingredients that work to promote healthy hair growth from the follicular level. Maintains moisture, adds more moisture and helps hair retain moisture until your next cleanse.

Makes detangling a breeze and rinses easily from hair. Gentle enough for daily use and is safe for color-treated hair.

Wet hair thoroughly. Rub a liberal amount of As I Am Coconut CoWash within palms and distribute throughout hair. Work product through hair and massage scalp with fingertips as you would a conventional shampoo. Carefully detangle hair with a wide-tooth comb. Rinse well.

Repeat only if necessary to remove excessive product build up or for further scalp cleansing.

Follow with conditioning. Use either As I Am Hydration Elation Intensive Conditioning Treatment or As I Am Leave-In Conditioner. Use as needed on an intermittent basis with Cleansing Pudding+ Sulfate-free Moisturizing Cleans.

Key Ingredients: Tangerine, Coconut Oil, Castor Oil, Saw Palmetto and Phytosterols

Rated 5 out of 5 by Staple CoWash! LOVE THIS PRODUCT! I have tried the Curls Cowash cleansers, Suave conditioners, and VO5 conditioners but none of them have worked as well as this Cowash. When I co-wash with this product, my hair retains moisture, remains soft, and smells great! I do not need to apply conditioner after using this product because my hair is happy with just this product on it. My only complaint is the container that this product comes in. If this Cowash was sold in a pump bottle, then it would be perfect :) August 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best thing that ever happened to my hair Leaves hair and scalp squeaky-clean with one wash, doesn't strip haircolor or hair's moisture. Tried other brands and this one is by far the best! I'll never use shampoo again! July 1, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Smells wonderful, teenage daughter likes it I have never used a cowash product before. I bought this based on the reviews and because I love the smell of coconut. I've used it twice and haven't quite made up my mind what I think of it. It's a different experience and will take some more time for me to get use to. I was hoping it would help control my frizzy hair but it doesn't. I still have to use other hair products for that. My teenage daughter has curly hair and has been using the cowash for about 2 weeks and really likes it. I gave it 5 stars overall, because I do enjoy using it once in a while, but mostly because my daughter has given it her approval. May 22, 2015

A:
Sulfate free products are needed for natural hair because the salt component of a hair product will strip the kinky/curly/coily strands of any natural oils and moisture. Sebum of natural hair has a hard time making its way from the scalp to the tips of the hair because of the many bends so holding on to as much moisture as possible when being washed and handled.

A:
Sulfates are harsh chemicals that can strip your natural hair of color, moisture and natural oils. This can result in breakage, dryness and tangles. Sulfate free products tend to leave your hair feeling clean and well moisturized.
