Additional Information

  • Gently cleanses hair and scalp
  • Removes product residue
  • Preserve moisture

As I Am Coconut CoWash is the way to cleanse your hair most of the time. This light no-suds conditioning cream gently spreads easily throughout your hair and removes residue including all of the things you've used to style and maintain your coils and curls.

Coconut Cowash is different from any other because it contains a special blend of natural ingredients that work to promote healthy hair growth from the follicular level. Maintains moisture, adds more moisture and helps hair retain moisture until your next cleanse.

Makes detangling a breeze and rinses easily from hair. Gentle enough for daily use and is safe for color-treated hair.
Wet hair thoroughly. Rub a liberal amount of As I Am Coconut CoWash within palms and distribute throughout hair. Work product through hair and massage scalp with fingertips as you would a conventional shampoo. Carefully detangle hair with a wide-tooth comb. Rinse well.

Repeat only if necessary to remove excessive product build up or for further scalp cleansing.
Follow with conditioning. Use either As I Am Hydration Elation Intensive Conditioning Treatment or As I Am Leave-In Conditioner. Use as needed on an intermittent basis with Cleansing Pudding+ Sulfate-free Moisturizing Cleans.

Cannot Believe How Clean and Soft My Hair Is I have been a fan of cleansing conditioner for about a year. Since I banned all sulfates from my scalp, I got into alternatives for cleaning my hair less harshly. With many of them, they did an OK job. I don't flat iron my hair as much anymore so I don't need it to be SQUEAKY clean. This stuff manages to not only detangle and soften my hair but get it immaculately clean just for being a co-wash. On top of that, it smells AMAZING and I cannot keep my boyfriend from touching or smelling my hair. I'm transitioning, so I use this every other day with shea butter to enhance my growing curls and blend my relaxed ends in with ease. This co-wash has even improved my heat damaged, relaxed hair by tenfold. I'm on love and will continue to buy this like, forever. Awesome job As I Am. September 19, 2014

Love this Product I had always had middle-of-the-back, thick, strong, wavy hair. My hair was my one feature I was truly happy with. I could flat iron, do beach waves and I even had a few spiral perms. My hair was super durable! However, ...10 years of coloring the grey at roots and temples, menopause and 22 years of the work requirement to wear my hair in a tight ballet bun took their toll and my hair became dry and limp. I was using conditioner by the bucket full. THEN I had a period of extreme stress and weight loss and about 2/3 of my hair fell out. I retired and got away from the stress. I got back to healthier eating and I used oral and topical hair supplements. I think my hair is growing back but the texture is worse than ever. I tried this product and I'm very pleased with the results. I've been using it for 2 weeks but I noticed positive results after the first use. My hair is still thin but the strands seem thicker and it is much shinier. Two strangers have complimented me on my hair. A nice confidence boost just when I need it! I do wish this product came in a bottle instead of a jar but other than that I love it. July 1, 2014
How is this better than shampoo? With all the positive reviews online, I figured this was a good product and I could use this instead of shampoo. . It gave me tangles and dryness. I could of used dish soap if I was looking for tangles and dryness. The entire point to co wash creams is to leave hair moisturized, clean and easy to comb. As for cleaning my hair and scalp, it did seem to clean but my scalped itched and felt funny a few days later. My scalp doesn't do that with shampoo. I bought this on sale with a bogo free coupon so I ended up getting a good price on it, but i gave one away. . The fact that my hair was so dried and tangled , after using this makes this a no go for me. Ill stick to shampoo. June 27, 2014

Answers

A:
Sulfates are harsh chemicals that can strip your natural hair of color, moisture and natural oils. This can result in breakage, dryness and tangles. Sulfate free products tend to leave your hair feeling clean and well moisturized.
