The Generic Value Products line was formed, because a group of experienced chemists and marketing personnel knew they could produce a product as good as the higher priced quality name brands.
After shampooing, massage into wet hair. Leave in 1-3 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. For intense conditioning, leave conditioning balm in hair 1-3 minutes.
Before you go into the pool or sun, wet your hair and work in some GVP Conditioning Balm. The conditioner will help to keep the pool chemicals from absorbing into your hair. If you can, rinse your hair in plain water after getting out of the pool, so that pool water do not dry into your hair.

LOVE This conditioner saved my hair. After a horrible experience with protein OVERLOAD I needed a non-protein, moustirizing conditioner ASAP. 5 star conditioner!! August 15, 2012
Great for damaged hair Coloring and curling iron use damaged my hair. I had breakage and dry, brittle ends. This helped more than any other conditioner. I followed the tip on another review which said to not rinse out completely. It doesn't weigh my hair down or look greasy. Softens, repairs and makes my hair look healthy. But yes, hard to get out of bottle. I'll put up with that minor inconvenience. February 28, 2015
Awesome Stuff! This is a terrific product -- absolutely as good as the name-brand it imitates, and so much cheaper. I had a problem with severely overprocessed hair, and consistent use of this conditioner has brought it back to life, given it shine and reduced the horrid straw-like appearance. My hairdresser suggested the name-brand product, so I swallowed hard and shelled out the money for it, and loved it, but when I discovered the generic brand I decided to give it a try, and I'm so glad I did. I have this on autoship now so I never have to worry about running out. The only bad thing about it is that it's hard to get out of the bottle. I store it standing upside-down and unscrew the cap rather than trying to squirt it out of the hole, but it would be lovely if it came in a plastic jar like the name-brand. Still, for the money I'm saving, it's worth a little trouble. February 6, 2015
Less than desirable I have very processed (bleached) hair and was hoping the extra moisture in this would help. I've been using this for a month but no matter how little or much I use it makes my hair stick together and hard to use, my hair doesn't seem more of less healthy but it's just unpleasant having my hair clump together so much.
