MINI Soak-Off Gel Nail Polish is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 176.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality gel- colors are frustrating I've used Gelish soak off gels for years. I have the 18G led light and so I like to use their products if possible. However, some colors I have purchased are see through... It's more like a nail stain... Other colors are fine, but there's no differentiating these on the shelf or in their descriptions. You don't find out until you get it home and try it... I don't know about you, but I don't typically want purple stained glass (how I describe the effect) clear nails... It doesn't matter how many coats you apply, you'll still be able to see through the polish. The lasting and curing quality is great. It's just the colors that suck. I typically but these top and base coats but buy other brands for colors.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible! I paid $17 for this gel polish in store. I was exoecting a great quality for this price. I applied 3 layers but coverage is very thin, I still see my nail throw the gel. Garbage. Waist of money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Salon Nails At Home I love Gelish brand. The coverage is great. I use the ph bond after gently buffing my nails. I use the top coat, cure it for 30 secs using LED light and take a clean brush to make the top coat rough. Apply two coats of desired color, curing each layer for 60 secs, then apply the top coat and cure for 90 seconds. Most people don't know that you must shake the polish for at least 10 seconds before using. This ensures the polish is consistent with each use. Three rules to remember when painting with gel polish: Clean your nails. Dehydrate your nails. Make your nail bed or nail tips tacky before applying. This gives the gel polish better grips it won't shrink or rub off later.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Always a fan! I have been using Gelish polishes for about two years, and I constantly am complimented and recommend the brand. Once you get your technique down, using the cleanser and ph bond are key, you can keep a polish on for a week then peel it off no problem. There's no need for the soak off solution. It's a great system!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gelish Nail Polish I just love this product, I really like the Good Gossip, red with glitter, the glitter part lasts longer. I like going to the salon but I'm able to do my own, in 3 or more weeks I start to replace the polish and my nails always look good.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Color is great but quality horrible I bought the dark gray color and literally 5 coats later it still looks thin. The polish was super thin. I bought it at the Bloomington, IN store and I thought for $13 for a tiny bottle it should be good stuff but it is awful. WASTE OF MONEY.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Old product I normally love this polish. I guess I got an old bottle. The polish was solid in the bottle upon arrival

My manicure is lasting for 2 days.  It is coming off in big hard sheets.  I Rough upthe cuticle beds, nails are dry, wiped with alcohol to remove any oil, gel polish base coat, color, then topcoat applied.  Everything looks great.  Why?

Asked by: Cheryl Smith
It sounds, to me, like you're putting on coats of polish that are too thick. Personally, it took me about a month to figure out the right ratio of coats; I apply 3-4 *super thin* coats of foundation, then top coat. I check for any imperfections, buff them out if necessary, then apply a 2nd top coat. I also turn my hand upside down for about 15 seconds before curing the top coat. The top coat just goes on more thickly than the foundation, so this allows it to self-level to the natural curve of your nail. For me, if I don't do this, I end up with really thick gel on the sides of my nails, and it's very thin on the top of my nails. I've found that not doing this can encourage lifting. Also, I don't get 2 weeks out of my manicure as I'm too hard on my hands (especially the caps!!). However, I only do a full take-off every other week or so; instead, once a week, I rough the surface of my nails, paying close attention to the cuticle area, then use pH bonder, foundation if needed, and one more layer of top coat. This will keep me going to 2-3 weeks. Good luck!

Can other brands of polish--either gel polish or regular polish--be used with the Gelish bond and foundation products?

Asked by: luvmynails
Hi! There is a technique called the Gelly Sandwich. You can look it up online but, basically, after you do your foundation coats, you clean your nails with the cleanser (or straight alcohol), then apply regular nail polish; do not cap the tips! Note: for the best success, you MUST allow the nail polish to be *completely* dry! Then cleanse again, use your pH bonder again, then top coat, and cap your tips. Following the rules set above, a manicure will last up to 2 weeks. Good luck!!!

I thought Gelish products could soak off with water. Why are some customers who posted here soaking them off with alcohol?

Asked by: luvmynails
Definitely doesn't come off with water. You have to use acetone. It soaks off with acetone.

I would like to start doing my own nails at home. Can someone tell me what all I need to get started? I usually get a French manicure in gel at the salon.

Asked by: Grandma Yarbrough
Exactly as LeeAnn20 said buy the base kit.  Purchased my kit in Sept. 2016, only half empty in April with once a week usage.   Gelish is the best polish I've found.  The Top Coat is phenomenal!! I have a MelodySusie LED 48watt.  My process file and buff nail surface, wipe rubbing alcohol, Ph Bond, apply foundation coat, 30 seconds curing for foundation, then apply polish, 60 seconds curing, apply second coat, 60 seconds curing, then wipe rubbing alcohol, finish with cuticle oil.  Save $$ per month and weekly compliments.

Why does Gelish shrink when applying??

Asked by: Jenjen1314
From my experience, the gelish polish shrinks when the polish isn't fresh, as in, been open a while. Also, I've noticed inconsistencies when I use gel polish on humid/rainy days. Not sure if this helps, just thought I'd chime in.

Are these mood changes polish???

Asked by: topnotch
No. I've been using the Gelish Gel Polishes for almost a year and I can report with 100% certainty they do not change color to match your mood.
