Bad as "Foundation" Since I wear Gelish all the time I thought my nails might appreciate some nourishment every now and then. Although I've yet to see any damage on my nails, I sure they are weakened with continual manicures. The directions for this say it can be used instead of Foundation Base Gel...maybe this works for some people but it sure doesn't work for me. I'm lucky if I get a DAY out of gel polish if I use this as a base. I've actually had polish fall off overnight while I slept, just hours after doing my nails. I've tried this enough times to know it's not a coincidence. This definitely seems to be the cause of the corners lifting all around the nail, and then the polish falls off in one piece, like a fake nail. If you're using this to strengthen natural nails, it may be great, but it's not a good base at all. March 19, 2014
AMAZING with Nail Polish I wanted something that would be a great base for nail polish. I read some reviews that were good and some that were bad so I figured I would give it a chance. I am very happy that I did. Here's why - it gave my nails added strength (not as strong as with Gelish but stronger than with just nail polish), made my nail polish last for over a week without chipping AND when I soaked it off it left my nails nice and feeling stronger. Tips - use the pH Bond before applying and apply thin coats. I used two coats. September 21, 2013
Expensive waste I've been wearing Gelish for about 2 years applying my own and have nail days for 2 of my dear aunts. We've tried MANY colors and combination. One aunt has super strong nails one has thiner ones; as our mine. We used as a foundation under color. I appied carefully following manufactures recomendation to all three nail sets. 2 sets of thin nails chiped and peeled within 2 days. Thicker nails lasted longer but not as long a regular foundation. I feel we represent a good cross section of users and none of us felt it was beneficial, in fact it was worse than normal foundation. It peeled off when worn alone as well, I don't even think it wore as well as regular nail polish. This product ruined the manicure, it was not worth the time and effort to use product haveing it ruin the "paint job". There was no benefit to useing as it didn't last long enough. I would take it back if I had the receipt. I would NOT use the product again. February 18, 2013
Peeling Let me begin by saying that I have been using Gelish and Red Carpet Manicure for about a year and I do my nails very well. I bought this bottle thinking it would give my thin nails more strength. It doesn't stay on my nails long enough to do anything. It is terrible for peeling and lifting off the day I apply it. Doesn't happen with any of the other gelish I have tried. January 22, 2013
