Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Pleased I have naturally dirty blonde hair and have been lightening it for about a year now. This works great to touch up my roots with a 30 Developer. Didn't take a lot of time to do the trick and did not damage my hair more than you'd expect from a bleach. Smells pretty good for a bleach as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly Recommend I have been bleaching, dying, and cutting my own hair at home for 15 years and this is the best bleach powder I have ever used. I have very dark brown (almost black) hair and I use this bleach powder with 20 volume Ion Color Brilliance Developer and it lightens my undyed hair just enough to where I don't have to bleach it again, I just have to use purple shampoo to tone out the yellow.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Orange Hair Galore...Yuck! I made the mistake of buying this because it was on sale, and the "good" reviews. Big mistake! Never have I had such orange-y brassy hair! I do realize this happens with bleaching, and have had brassy hair as a result from other bleaches in the past (that I could always tone down afterward). After using a toner on it, twice, it still remains orange. Do not buy this junk!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite lightener! I've used a variety of hair lighteners and this has been, by far, my favorite. It lightens the best and evenly. It doesn't burn as much as the others do. I most recently used this with Ion Sensitive Scalp 30 Vol. Developer, and it works so well. I have very dark brunette hair so I usually need several sessions (with other products) to get it as light as I would like since I enjoy having white hair, but with this lightener I don't need to use it as much, and only one session for fixing my roots with a toner. This product doesn't damage my hair as much as other lighteners have in the past, and within the last few years while using this product, I've started applying coconut oil to my hair to soak several hours before bleaching, and applying the bleach over it. Barely any damage! The bleach lightens through the coconut oil while the oil prevents some damage. With my technique, and this bleach, I can lighten my hair without too much worry of excessive damage. I highly recommend this product, I always buy the large tub!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Yes This is the only powder bleach I will use. I've safely lifted many manic panic colors and box dyes from not only my hair but my daughters and her friends. I only use a 20 volume developer of the same brand and always get the results I want. I suppose you could do damage with it if used incorrectly but it's always worked for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great lightener I used this to touch up my roots. I've tried my fair share of high lift blondes with 40 developer, but could never get my hair past the orange stage. I was very reluctant to go back to bleach and kind of deluded myself into thinking I was sparing my hair the damage by using high lift instead. But as I could not get my hair light enough, I finally gave in and decided to give this product a try. I used this with Ion sensitive scalp 20 volume developer because I wanted as little damage as possible and I was very surprised at how quickly it lightened my medium brown roots. In only 30 minutes my hair was a pale yellow color, whice I didn't expect considering I've used other bleaches with a higher developer in the past and it would take twice the time. I rinsed it out and applied Wella Color Charm T15 toner and was left with beautiful beige blonde hair. As for the condition of my hair, it does not feel any more damaged than before I bleached it. Dare I say, it actually feels better. I would also like to add I did not feel any burning on my scalp while it was processing. The only issue I have with this product was the very little amount of powder that came in the pouch. I just barely had enough to do my roots (and I was using it very sparingly) so it's impossible to do your whole head unless your hair is very very short. I would definitely recommend getting two or three, or better yet get the 1 lb tub because it's a much better deal. Overall, I'm very happy with this product and will be using it every time I need to touch up my regrowth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! I used this paired with Ion's Sensitive Scalp Developer in 40. It worked wonderfully! Evenly bleached my hair, and it smelt great.

I bleached my hair last night, mixed the bleach with 20 vol. and shampoo. I also put organic coconut oil in my hair this morning to moisturize. How long should I wait to bleach again?

Asked by: Larissa654
Hello, and thank you for your question. Try a test strand to ensure best results first and check the hair for any damaging effects as well with a back to back application.

I currently have purple hair that is ombre with violet at the ends. I went swimming and it bleached out some of the color. I want to re-dye it purple and violet ombre. Do I need to bleach all over and then re-dye or just do my roots and then re-dye?

Asked by: Ldytrybsman1
Hello, and thank you for your question. We would recommend test stranding the color only first as pre-lightening may not be a necessary step.

Will this take out blue/black hair to blonde on the first try? Or would I need to do it again?

Asked by: Izzy
Hello, and thank you for your question. It will most likely take more than one application. Be sure to test strand to determine proper timing to ensure desired results.

What kind of developer should I use?

So my hair is dark brown with some red cause I dyed it red before, but I want to bleach my ends because I want pink ends. Would a 20 volume developer be better for me or something stronger like a 30 or 40?
Asked by: Baozi
The higher the developer strength the more aggressive and faster a lightener works. We may recommend a test strand of 20 volume to preview the lift prior to the full application. It is best when lighteners work slow to avoid compromising the hair.

Which bleach won't turn my hair green?

I dyed my hair purple, and decided I wanted a lighter shade of blonde, but I still had light purple dye on it. Once I put this bleach on my hair it turned my hair green. Is there a bleach that won't turn my hair green if I bleach over the purple?
Asked by: Alex
Most bleaches will still turn purple hair green because the bleach is attempting to lift the color of the hair. Lifts go in stages for naturally colored hair (typically brown, red, orange, yellow, and then white), and a lot of purples tend to have a blue base to them. Therefore, the lifting process goes purple, blue, and then usually gets stuck on green. Some people recommend using color correctors like Color Oops, but I hear it tends to do the same thing (turn purple green). Best options are to try and tone out the green with a red-based toner (since red cancels out green). Also, using clarifying or anti-dandruff shampoo on the green seems to be good at fading it out, allowing you to bleach over it again with less green. Old question, but just in case you (or anyone else) needed an answer! I have purple hair myself, so I understand the struggle. (Someone recommended soaking your hair in ketchup because the red in ketchup should tone the green. Tried it and the green wasn't fazed...and I felt immensely disgusting afterwards!!)

Does this come with an actual measuring scoop (in oz.) or just a regular scoop?

Asked by: Blondie
It has just a regular scoop. If memory serves me correct it equals 1 oz, I could be incorrect. The instructions included tell you the mix ratio.
