Ion Color Brilliance Semi-Permanent Brights Hair Color are hi-fashion hair color shades designed to give vivid, boldly intense results. In twenty to forty minutes Ion Color Brilliance Brights deposits color on pre-bleached natural or color treated hair. Ion Color Brilliance Brights can be applied to pre-lightened hair and natural or colored hair.

Ion Hair Color’s superior quality, proprietary blends are formulated in Italy by our expert team of chemists to deliver unparalleled results. Our unique system combines the finest quality natural and exotic ingredients with powerful high-tech compounds to achieve exquisite, brilliant color with superior gray coverage. Ion Hair Color science relies on the power of micro-pigmentation—our microscopic pigment molecules oxidize slower, allowing them to penetrate deep into the cortex of each hair strand for long-lasting, fade-resistant color. Our formulas are PPD-free and enriched with Hyaluronic Acid, Argan Oil, Pequi Oil, and botanicals to nourish and strengthen hair from within. Not to mention, Ion Hair Color is gentle on hair, containing up to 38% less ammonia than the leading professional brands on the market. Unlock your hair’s true potential with Ion’s cutting-edge, salon-quality color science and bring home vibrance like never before.
Ion Color Brilliance Semi-Permanent Brights Hair Color can be applied two different ways.

1. For the most vibrant result apply to pre-lightened hair. Pre-lighten with Ion Color Brilliance Ammonia Free Powder Lightener (not included) to the desired level of lift. It is important to note that the degree of lift achieved with pre-lightening will directly affect the vibrancy and intensity of the final result. Underlying exposed contributing pigment must be taken into consideration. If the hair is orange or a dark yellow this will contribute to the final color.

To achieve a boldly intense brights color, pre-lighten to the level indicated in the table below for each specific color. After pre-lightening, shampoo with Ion Color Defense Shampoo. Dry the hair. Apply chosen brights shade directly on dry hair and process for 20 to 40 minutes depending on the level of color intensity desired. Strand test every 5-10 minutes. Heat is not necessary for processing if the hair has been pre-lightened. After processing, thoroughly rinse and apply Ion® Color Brilliance After Color Treatment to close the cuticle and lock the color deep inside the hair.

2. Color shine overlays on natural or color treated hair. Apply brights directly onto natural or color treated dry hair and process for 20 to 40 minutes. For more intense vibrant results, cover the hair with a processing cap and process with heat. Strand test every 5-10 minutes.

After processing is completed, thoroughly rinse and apply Ion Color Brilliance After Color Treatment to close the cuticle and lock color deep inside the hair.

Ion Color Brilliance Semi-Permanent Brights Hair Colorare non-oxidative dyes that can be extremely long lasting and may become permanent. Should removal be necessary from hair, it is important to know that lightener may not completely remove Brights from hair. Ion Color Corrector is not recommended for removal of Brights. It is designed for permanent and Demi-Permanent color removal.

Ion Color Brilliance Semi-Permanent Brights Hair Color 3.5 5 365 372
Fantastic! After much deliberation, I went with Fuschia. My hair was previously Manic Panic Red Passion, faded to a funny cotton candy pink and orange streaky color, and this covered it fabulously. The box states you need state 10 to really get this color, but my hair was probably only an 8 or so and it still came out great. It's far more purple on where my hair was pink previously and a beautiful raspberry color where it was orange. It IS super thick so I added some Ion conditioner to help spread it. I have a lot of hair so I needed two full tubes of it to get it all covered. Unlike the Manic Panic which you can sort of squidge around in your hair when it's done, this stuff doesn't move. I left it on for about two hours and rinsed it out. Also, I highly recommend getting the Ion After-Color Treatment with this as it will make your hair instantly super soft and shiny by closing the cuticle. Time will tell if it helps keep the color in, but my hair feels great. August 15, 2012
Color was Off I bought the Lavender color to re-do my hair, which I usually get done professionally. There were a couple issues with it. First, the color was very off from both the box and swatch - it was less of a lavender, and more of a dark violet. I had mixed two tubes with one tube of clear to help lighten it and stretch the dye further, but even with the clear added in it was not lightened. Second, I notices the the dyes were not consistent between tubes - one was a darker lavender with a metallic hue, and the other tube was a deep, dark violet. Maybe one was filled incorrectly? Either way, while I love purple, I did not get the pale lavender that I was aiming for. The dye itself is very vibrant and is staying very well so far, though. July 24, 2015
You get what you pay for Since this is a semi permanent hair color its supposed to last 6 weeks and fade gradually within that time. I only got mine 2 weeks ago and the colors already faded a decent amount, I suggest not washing your hair that much if you choose to do these colors. It is a creme so it is supposed to be thick, you have an option to mix it with developer which doesn't hurt since I have seen a lot of reviews complaining that it was too thick. Pre-lightened hair is optimal if you want the color to be bright. I suggest you go to a professional to get your hair pre-lightened so that the color is even everywhere. Bleaching your hair yourself is not always a good idea. If you would want a good semi permanent hair color id suggest getting Pravana chromasilk vivid's, neon's or pastels. It cost more money but its professional hair color and it stays in a lot longer then the semi permanent hair color from Sallies beauty supply. July 19, 2015
Good semi permanent color if used properly For the pst 8+ years I have had my hair coloured silver/grey professionally at a salon, I was looking for a change so I decided to go lavender. Lavender is a super hard color to keep so I decided to order the color ion lavender to help prolong my color in between salon visits. The first time I applied it, it was over my faded salon lavender and it did enhance the color a bit but not as much as I expected. It was patchy as the product is very thick and hard to get even coverage. I applied it again and diluted it with purple shampoo and it did nothing. The next go around I had my hair bleached to a level ten at the salon and then applied the color ion lavender at home myself, it came out super bright and very purple! After playing around with this color for a while now I have found that it absolutely must be applied on freshly bleached hair (level 8 or higher) to achieve good results. Also you can not dilute it , so buy extra! Diluting it with shampoo causes the hair cuticle to absorb the shampoo and not the color so it will be very dull and you will be disappointed. Hair must be washed with shampoo only and then dried before application. This is a semi permanent color so it does not stay vibrant, I had super purple hair for two washes, then a really pretty pastel lavender ( which is what i wanted) for 2-3 washes and then my hair was basically a very faint lavender which actually looked silver ( which i was fine with since I have always had silver hair). As with any high maintenance color, the less you wash it the better, and cold water is a must! July 14, 2015

This product can be used straight from the tube. I did try it by adding developer at one point just to see how it would do and it did not come out right. It came out with almost like a .. silver tone to all the colors. But straight from the tube it came out exactly how it was suppose to.

The Radiant Orchid color is BEAUTIFUL as a purple, it may come out a little darker than violet if you leave it on long but the color is super vibrant.

No, this colour must be used on bleached hair or naturally blonde hair. It will not show up on dark hair.

coverup?

I tried to dye my hair blue but it turned out more black and eventually became an olive color which I didn't want to go out in public with. unfortunately I can't bleach my hair so I was wondering if red would be able to cover up the color with out it?

A:
Putting red over an olive color is going to come out as brown, perhaps auburn depending on how much your current color is fading.
To cover it it's best to stay within that section of the color wheel. I'm guessing your natural hair is dark so a good color might be purple. It'll counter any yellow tones and shine purple in the light.

Some good ways to further stripping the color you have without bleach are: dandruff shampoo, salt water baths, vitamin c powder mixed with shampoo, and hot oil treatments.

I wouldn't say my hair is brassy but it is kind of yellow from dyeing. I want to do the color under my hair. If i want a mint green color, what would i have to do?

A:
You'd definitely need to bleach the part you want to be mint. Any yellow tones will make the colour muddy, especially with cool-toned pastels like mint green. Since it's already light, though, you probably won't need to be too aggressive with the bleach, just to lift it a level or two and get rid of the yellow.

A:
Bleach it again. Only bleach the hair you wish to use the mint on. Possibly get a darker green and tone it down with a white conditioner. I recommend lOreal bleach. They come in packets instead of buckets because you wont have to bleach it more than once.
