Ion Color Brilliance Brights Semi-Permanent Hair Color are hi-fashion hair color shades designed to give vivid, boldly intense results. In twenty to forty minutes Ion Color Brilliance Brights deposits color on pre-bleached natural or color treated hair. Ion Color Brilliance Brights can be applied to pre-lightened hair and natural or colored hair.

Ion Color Brilliance Brights can be applied two different ways.

1. For the most vibrant result apply to pre-lightened hair. Pre-lighten with Ion Color Brilliance Ammonia Free Powder Lightener (not included) to the desired level of lift. It is important to note that the degree of lift achieved with pre-lightening will directly affect the vibrancy and intensity of the final result. Underlying exposed contributing pigment must be taken into consideration. If the hair is orange or a dark yellow this will contribute to the final color. To achieve a boldly intense brights color, pre-lighten to the level indicated in the table below for each specific color. After pre-lightening, shampoo with Ion Color Defense Shampoo. Dry the hair. Apply chosen brights shade directly on dry hair and process for 20 to 40 minutes depending on the level of color intensity desired. Strand test every 5-10 minutes. Heat is not necessary for processing if the hair has been pre-lightened. After processing, thoroughly rinse and apply Ion® Color Brilliance After Color Treatment to close the cuticle and lock the color deep inside the hair.

2. Color shine overlays on natural or color treated hair. Apply brights directly onto natural or color treated dry hair and process for 20 to 40 minutes. For more intense vibrant results, cover the hair with a processing cap and process with heat. Strand test every 5-10 minutes. After processing is completed, thoroughly rinse and apply Ion Color Brilliance After Color Treatment to close the cuticle and lock color deep inside the hair.

Fantastic! After much deliberation, I went with Fuschia. My hair was previously Manic Panic Red Passion, faded to a funny cotton candy pink and orange streaky color, and this covered it fabulously. The box states you need state 10 to really get this color, but my hair was probably only an 8 or so and it still came out great. It's far more purple on where my hair was pink previously and a beautiful raspberry color where it was orange. It IS super thick so I added some Ion conditioner to help spread it. I have a lot of hair so I needed two full tubes of it to get it all covered. Unlike the Manic Panic which you can sort of squidge around in your hair when it's done, this stuff doesn't move. I left it on for about two hours and rinsed it out. Also, I highly recommend getting the Ion After-Color Treatment with this as it will make your hair instantly super soft and shiny by closing the cuticle. Time will tell if it helps keep the color in, but my hair feels great. August 15, 2012
Ion Color Brilliance "Rose" RULES!!!! So I went to Sally's last night dragging my feet because I really wanted a light pink, but assumed they only had Manic Panic..which I hate using. Anyway, the super duper, friendly sales girl showed me the Ion Color Brilliance line, and my heart soared when I saw the Rose color! Such a pretty, pastel pink and exactly what I was looking for. I have a short, mohawk/mullet Lost Boys hairstyle going on at the moment. I first bleached my dark blonde/light brown hair with a packet of Quick Blue/Volume 30 lifter. Then i rinsed it out and conditioned it. When toweled dry, I added a whole tube of the Ion Color Brilliance to my head. I put a plastic bag on it, and left it on for an hour. After the hour was up, I used a blow dryer on it, until it was dry & felt like a crunchy, hair helmet on my head. lol I put an old pillow case on my pillow and went to bed. In the morning, I rinsed it until it ran clear and conditioned. It's BEAUTIFUL! I was nervous at first because the color in the tube is SUPER hot pink, but that rinses out leaving a nice, pale pink! I read other reviews about it being thicker, but that's a plus because the color doesn't run and drip down your neck like other brands do. Buy this with confidence and it's a great price for what you get in the end! This stuff rules! September 11, 2014
Disappointment I have been pink for almost 6 months now and played with many different brands. Upon purchasing the Ion Magenta as well as the Ion Clear Shade Diluter I had no doubts that it would be an excellent experience. I was so wrong! After bleaching my roots and applying the diluted dye (following package instructions), to my ALREADY PINK hair, I let it sit for several hours. The dye was extremely pigmented even when diluted and I almost expected it to be TOO pink for my liking. Upon rinsing, almost all of the dye washed out. It stayed behind in shockingly pink sections, random splotches being shades darker than the rest, even though I carefully and methodically applied the dye evenly throughout my hair. The dye not take to my freshly bleached roots AT ALL. It was the patchiest, ugliest dye job I have ever had and I have been dying my own hair for almost ten years. The next day I did another round, hoping to correct the terribly patchy parts and make my hair somewhat presentable. I spent two hours applying the dye, enlisted the help of a roommate and triple-checked to make sure my hair was evenly covered and the missed spots from the day before were attended to. The results are bearable, but after two washes it has faded significantly and my roots are already blonde again. I have small sections of hair that are hot hot pink (they look stained as if I had haphazardly dumped the dye on my head and smeared it around) some are a light bubblegum pink, and others are a faded orange-y blonde salmon pink. If anything, I would have anticipated my roots be PINKER than the rest of my hair, as I have experienced in the past, but this is obviously the opposite case; I also expected since I had even-colored pink already that it would be relatively the same but it is so inconsistent. I will not be purchasing or using this dye again, sadly because it is very affordable and easy to get. September 9, 2014
would not recommend to anyone I have never had any luck with this line of products. First off, the consistency is like toothpaste but about 10 times thicker. You can hold a glob of it upside down in your hand and it won't go anywhere. This makes it incredibly difficult to spread onto the hair. You cannot use a tint brush at all, you literally have to mush it into your hair with your fingers. Every time I have used this dye it's turned out very splotchy and uneven. I just tried using the lavender and rose and it did literally next to nothing and I'm very disappointed. The smell is also so strong and overbearing it gives me and everyone around a headache. It's not exactly a chemically smell, but a very strong fruity one, like a really bad perfume. This will be the last time I try this dye. Spend a little more and go for the N'Rage dye, it works perfectly! The colors are pretty bright but they are very easy to make pastel with a little conditioner. September 3, 2014

For best results, it is recommended that you pre-bleach or lighten your hair in order for the color to show as intended.

if it is semi permanent it will last about a month or so and just fade, it wont completely come out, if you are wanting color for a short amount of time i would recommend getting temporary dye and washing your hair with dry shampoo when your hair gets oily, and then shampoo and water like once a week and if you want the color totally gone just wash regularly with shampoo and water, etc

This color won't do any damage at all! It's vegan and deposit only, if anything it's good for your hair.

It obviously depends on what color (dye) you are trying to achieve, i.e. pink, red, blue, purple... With the red color ion brilliance brights, I've had GREAT success with my hair only being lightened to about a level 6, or 7. However (obviously) the more lift, the more POP you're going to get from your color. When I originally went magenta, I lightened to about a lever 5. (a golden blonde--and the gold tones hid very well behind the magenta).
