ion Sensitive Scalp 20 Volume Creme Developer is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 55.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sensitive Scalp worked for me. I was having sore scalp and itching using the regular developer. The Sallys girl suggested I try this. I noticed a difference right away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from #1 I love this developer! The scent is pleasant with a light flower scent & my scalp doesn't itch as bad & it doesn't dry my hair out as much as the salon care brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The only developer that doesn't irritate My mom has a very sensitive scalp. I've tried other developers on her like Clairol and Wella and she said those still irritated her. I've never used Ion products before but the lady at Sally's suggested this one for sensitive scalps. It even has "sensitive scalp" in the name, so it has to work, right? Well, it does! My mom loved it, she said it did not irritate and her hair even felt smoother when she washed it off. I would definitely say that it does what it says it would, unlike so many other products you come across.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Gentle Bought this for bleaching and it sure did what it's name suggests. It did not irritate my scalp at all! I used this twice with bleaching powders and twice by itself, all of which were very gentle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked great! Used this recently with bleach, toner & dye. It was very gentle on my scalp & my hair is still soft. Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cheap and fantastic I bleach my hair about once a month and would not use any other developer after using ion. Smooth, and doesn't leave my hair as dry as other developers have done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite I used this for awhile its amazing I tried many kinds of developers. This one is my favorite

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works wonderfully I used this yesterday along with ion color brilliance ultra gloss in dark brown. I applied this to my hair and left it on for about 35 minutes. It didnt irritate or bother my scalp in the slightest. The color also came out great, a little darker than I expected but that's alright. Also the smell wasn't the least bit offensive. I definitely would recommend!

If I'm going a few shades darker (light brown to dark brown) do I need to use developer (with the ion permanent creme hair dye) if so is 20 volume good?

Asked by: Lexie1996
I use Ion 20 for Sensitive Scalp for all my hair coloring needs. It works great going lighter or darker for me. I wouldn't use anything else!

what is the meaning of the letter V after the number of the hair color, I know what N,G and A mean, but I do not know what V means . really need to have a store in Eureka Ca. I think you would do very well here.

Asked by: whateverdave
I believe it stands for Violet. I'm not sure if any specific hair color will do anything for volume. If it's by the color number, it would be telling you that they have a touch of violet mixed in the color. If there is a beauty supply around....go in and ask to see their color pamphlet with all the color's that a particular brand has in it's line. Then it will make sense to you.

I'm covering a lot of grey hair. My sides and temples are stubborn grey hairs. Will ion 20 developer solve my issue sense I need more deposit, more color and less developer correct?

Asked by: Scared too death of color
20 Volume (20V / 6% peroxide) developer is the most commonly used and it is optimal for covering grey hair. You'd use it to stay anywhere around the color level your hair already is, or to lift 1-2 levels. Higher developer = more lift for lighter colors. Use equal parts color to developer.

I purchased Ion Permanent Jet Black hair color. I also purchased 10 Vol. Developer for sensitive scalp, and I purchased the after color sealer. as well. Should I of purchase 20 Vol. for a darker color for stubborn greys. Help!

Asked by: Scared too death of color
From what I've read online, 10 volume is typically used for demi permanent dyes. But seeing as you got jet black and need to cover greys, I would strongly suggest getting the 20 volume. I'm not a professional and I would also urge you to watch a few review or before and after videos online

Can this be used with Ion Demi permanent color? What will the results be?

Asked by: SantannaB
Demi color is only meant to be mixed with 10 volume developer it will only deposit color on the hair if you want to get a lighter shade use a permanent color with 20 or 30 volume developer

Hi! I have naturally dark brown hair but bleached it (balayage) a few months ago. It's growing out/a yellow-ish colour now, so I'm looking to tone with Wella T-18. Will using the 20 developer turn my virgin brown roots orange?

Asked by: nicoleee
I would apply a Demi color 9A leave it in until you don't see yellow try to apply it only on the yellow hair another safer option is get purple shampoo Clairol shimmer lights is a great highly pigmented shampoo
