Ion Healing Jojoba Flat Iron Cream
Meh, it's ok , but my hair turns out much better if I use ION lusterizing cream first, blow dry, then use ION flat iron heat protectant spray as I'm flat ironing. I guess this product is supposed to be more of a 2-in-1. I'll stick to my old routine.

Better with time
I've needed something for heat protection to use for blow-drying and/or straightening and the other things I've bought have worked, but not as well as I would like. I bought this ION jojoba cream recently to give it a try. It's a thick white wax with blue beads in it. To use I mixed a dime size amount in my hands before smoothing it over my mostly-dried hair. It makes my hands very greasy/waxy feeling but it washes right off. While this is in your hair it does make it heavy and waxy until you use heat. The little blue beads don't disapear until you use heat, so make sure you add this in your hair right before straightening. I've noticed that the longer this product is in my hair the better it is. At first when I put it in it's like I just used wax, and even after I use heat it still seems waxy, however, after several hours my hair becomes really touchable soft and smooth! By the end of the day my hair isn't waxy/sticky feeling at all. So I make sure to put this on in the morning so then it has plenty of time to set in and look great. I'm not sure if this product actually helped heal my damage, however it does help hide the appearence of damage by smoothing frizz and split ends so my hair looks healthier.

How I became a fan
Pro: added lots of body to hair, shine, and helped with straightening (didn't make hair oily).
Cons: I think "Silk Elements MegaSilk Heat Protection Spray" works better for softer hair after ironing.
I've used Ion for 3 years now. This product made me an ion fan, but I will only use this for creating body, and will use Silk elements for styling protection. The price of Silk Elements vs ion is approximately the same per ounce of product. The ends of my hair still get really really dry with ion, and Silk let my fingers go right through.
I over dyed my hair. It literally melted into a rubber band and fell out. 6 months later (today), I got Silk Elements and can dry my hair, and don't even have to use a straightener to make it look normal. The less heat on my over processed hair the better. Get silk if you have over processed, damaged hair, with really dry ends.
I live in Oregon (damp, rainy, seasonal climate), am a 30 year old, caucasian, female.

I have past the shoulder length, med.thick/wavy, highlighted hair. Tried 3 other heat protectors and like this one the best. At first I thought I may have put too much on my hair and it was going to be too moisturized which I think is mistaken for a greasy feeling in some of the other reviews. I say that because after applying it my hands felt like I had put hand lotion on them which is a moisture feeling not greasy. After I blow dried my hair it felt really soft and moisturized not greasy or weighed down at all and it made my hair shine, even the highlighted parts! It tamed my flyaways that I get on top but not all of them which is better than nothing because I have alot. When I flat ironed my hair it made it soft enough so it straightened mostly in 1 pass, no more than two which saved time. I need moisture and heat protection especially on the highlighted areas and something to reduce the appearance of split ends and this product delivered all of those the best out off all that I tried. It does state on procduct page under usage tab that you can blow dry before flat ironing or air dry. It also says it "reduces the appearance" of split ends, not that it gets rid of them. I really like this product and will continue to buy it but it could be a little cheaper.
