Smooth as Silk Technique! One ‘n Only Brazilian Tech Keratin Smoothing System creates beautiful, shiny hair – smooth as silk!

Step 1: Shampoo hair twice using Keratin Pre & Post shampoo. Towel dry to remove excess moisture.

Step 2: Run a wide-tooth comb through the hair before applying keratin smoothing treatment.

Step 3: Section the hair into 4 parts. Shake bottle well. Pour Keratin Smoothing Treatment into a bowl and stir with brush. Start with 2oz–3 oz. and add more treatment as needed. Wearing gloves is recommended.

Step 4: Starting at the nape, part the hair into 1" sections. Using a tint brush, apply cream 1/4" away from scalp; apply from scalp to ends on each section. Step 5: Comb treatment through each section with a fine-tooth comb, making sure it is evenly distributed. Continue the process until entire head is treated. You can then use a wide tooth comb on the entire head to ensure even application. Start timing when treatment application is complete on entire head. Reference instruction booklet for timing.

Step 6: Rinse hair thoroughly and gently shampoo again with Keratin Pre & Post Smoothing Shampoo and remove excess moisture.

Step 7: Apply Keratin Leave-In Conditioner and comb through to detangle hair.

Step 8: Blow-dry hair 90% on a medium-hot setting, directing air flow from scalp to ends and using fingers or a brush.

Step 9: Using a flat iron, start at the nape area. Working on 1∕8" sections, slowly pass the iron from root to ends 4–5 times, infusing the treatment into the hair. (Flat iron should be at 400°–410°F for color-treated or highlighted hair and 450°F for normal or coarse/resistant hair). Repeat on all sections of hair. It is recommended not to shampoo hair for 48 hours after treatment. If hair gets wet or damp during this 48-hour period, blow dry immediately and flat iron on medium heat. It is also recommended that within this 48-hour period, hair be worn down and no clips, pins, ponytail holders or headbands.

THE BEST I have been doing this treatment on my mom's hair for as long as the product has been at Sally's. My mom has shoulder length hair that is extremely thick and curly. Once the process is done her hair is extremely shiny and soft. The styling process also is cut in half. My only suggestion is that you really read and follow the directions. The one box kit actually lasts for two applications on shoulder length hair. Remember not to over use the product. March 5, 2014
LOVE IT!!!! LOVE IT!!!! LOVE IT!!!! This product is one of the best products I've use in a very long time. It leaves your hair smooth, shiny and extremely soft. Blow drying my hair is a 1 2 3 done deal. Every one has something to say about the way my hair looks. I JUST SIMPLY LOVEEEEEEEEEE IT!!!!!!!! February 6, 2014
Love What This Does For My Hair! No idea why so many people are having problems with this system, but for me personally, I love it! I have naturally kinky, ethnic hair that is also super thick and generally unmanageable (think of the kind of hair that eats combs left to its own devices and you'll get the idea.) I use this once every four to six weeks or so, and it keeps my hair smooth, straight and shiny plus easy to comb. Blowdrying takes half the time, and I only need one pass with the flatiron instead of three or four. I can walk out into 80% humidity and not have my hair turn into one giant afropuff. It's awesome. I use this on my 9 year old daughter too instead of a relaxer and she has lovely shiny hair that is well past her shoulders. No breakage. We do sleep in rayon hairnets at night, so I guess if people are getting a lot of breakage when they sleep, it could be their pillowcase or something. The only downside is that it takes a long time to do, but what doesn't take a long time when you have ethnic hair that you want to straighten out? December 23, 2013
Extremely Dissapointed I have fine, curly, blonde hair that hasn't been highlighted in 9 months and the only recent color treatment I did was going a darker shade of blonde about 3 weeks ago. I followed all of the instructions, only left the product on for 10mins and once I washed it out....extreme breakage. My hair became extremely porous, and so damaged that a good 6-8 inches have broken off my shoulder length hair. If you are looking for an at-home keratin treatment please try something else! I should have been put off by even one mention of breakage, but I thought it wouldn't happen to me. I have now had to spend over $130 on professional products to try and repair the damage, so in hindsight, going with something more expensive or even to a salon would have probably been a better option for me October 21, 2013
