Color Charm Permanent Liquid Toners is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 36.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing stuff I did a no-no and dyed my with box dye. As I already knew that it leaves a metallic dye in my hair and is a pain to get out when bleaching. I bleached my hair last year and I fried my hair. I dyed it dark cut it off. Now this time it has taken me two times bleaching my hair to get to the color I need. I still have orange in a little bit of my hair. This toner does work. If you dont get your hair all blonde this toner wont work on really dark hair. Word of advice do not use box dye. Always buy the dye at sallys. I still have a ways to go but this tone t18 works wonders after you lighten your hair to a light blonde color with minimal orange/brass/yellow. Everyones hair pulls different. Make sure to use a deep conditioner after bleaching and toning. Purple shampoo and conditioner is goong to also help tremendously to keep the ash blonde color and help rid of the orange/brass/yellow tones in the hair. It is expensive to go blonde after multiple dyes of box dye. You wont acheive the color you want over night. Its just not possible without frying your hair to the point it has to be cut off. If you have virgin hair you should have no problem bleaching and toning.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I have blonde on top and a dark auburn underneath. I had a lot of gold and orange after I bleached my hair. I used the t28 toner and I still have uneven hair color with spots still orange. What do I do

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing this is my second time purchasing Wella Toners and I love love LOVE them! I will never use another toner ever for my hair.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Be very careful with this! My hair was yellow after a trip to the salon so I bought this. The box says leave on for 30 minutes, I barely left it on for 10 and my hair has a purple tint to it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing I bought this as a last resort, but it should have been the first thing I tried! I was so desperate to get the yellow and orange out of my hair! I purchased the t18 and it worked wonders! I would recommend buying 2 bottles if you have thick hair like me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from From gold and brassy to blonde and classy FINALLYYYYYY!!! I stripped my hair of permanent red Féria dye. Then colored it "dark blonde" which came out to an embarrassing orange yellow mix. My hair is quite damaged i wish I would have known about this first. I'll do a hot oil treatment. It burned a little but this was my first time using it so I probably shorted my ratios. I'm so thankful for this product I'm now back to my natural color(just a little lighter). And I'm never doing That again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved the Day! After spending $100 at a stylist (I wanted golden blonde hair), I came home miserable with Crayola yellow hair. I'm a natural level 7 blonde (dark blonde/light brown.) I ended up bleaching my eyebrows first and then decided to take matters into my own hands. After watching some Youtube videos, I bought Wella's T18 toner, a mixing bowl and brush and level 20 developer. I mixed it as directed, a 1:2 ratio, left in on for 20 minutes, and am thrilled with my ashed out light blonde results. I will be my own at-home stylist from now on. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautifully Blonde ! I bought this product online with a 20 developer. Let me just start by saying best thing to do is use this product after bleaching ! You can also use it to make your blonde less yellow looking. I continuously buy this product and i will always. Thank you Sally's Beauty Supply.

Hey! I just recently got a platinum box color this past Saturday, I done my hair and it came out this ugly bright yellow color. I was wondering what I would need to get to get this color out? I have a big event coming up and don't want to show up now.

Asked by: Em_Dawn88
The problem with boxed color that has everything you should need is it does not take into account the proper time needed to lift the base color you have. I've had this problem many times and decided to just bleach the color out then tone my hair with the time I wanted. For platinum blonde get the Lloriel blue bleach and either a 20 or 30 volume developer. I use the Weller cream developer. I use the Wella T18 toner. Read the instructions in the ratio needed. The 30 developer would go with the bleach and the 20 would go with the toner. I have to double bleach my hair to get the orange tones to yellow, then the toner tones the yellow to platinum blonde. You also need a blue or purple shampoo and conditioner. Another good trick is to let your hair soak with pure coconut oil to help keep damage to a minimum. If your hair is brown from a medium to dark you might need to double bleach. If you just keep the bleach on too long your hair will break off near the scalp. Hope this helps.

Do I absolutely have to use it with the Wella developer or can I use a different brand developer?

Asked by: Taylor420
I havent tried to use a different developer. I would say use the wella developer and not risk it not working.

Hi I bought the well t18 and when i got home i found out that i ran out of 20 developer and i only have a 30. would be okay if i use a 30 developer instead

Asked by: newbie22
I used 30 on my hair and it came out perfect, just keep in mind it may lift a bit more so I'd be sure to have some good conditioner to follow.

Hi I'm learning to do my own blonde highlights in fools. I'm using hi-lift bleach powder with 20% developer. I'm wanting to tone out the brassyness to reach a nice ash blonde colour. Will this product do the trick & how long would I leave it on?

Asked by: KirstyGG
Yes it works! Leave it on until it's not yellow. It's will turn purple and grey.

I bleached my clip ins to match my hair but not so. The hair is now too yellow. My hair is more of a darker blonde/brown.reddish. Which toner can i use in my clips ins to get rid of yellow but make it look more darker blonde?

Violet kills yellow/gold tones. I'd find a toner with a V

I have gold orange hair after being a dark red, using L'Oréal color remover, and dying it with nice and easy dark blonde:( it's embarrassing. I want a nice dark ash blonde which is my natural color. Which developer should I use and which shade??

Asked by: Amlebra1
Use the Developer recommended by the mfg of your hair color you will use. 20 Volume deposits less color than 40 Volume to the hair shaft! Easy does it with all this processing, waiting a few weeks between processing is better, and feed your hair olive oil before shampooing for extra strength. Then wait 2 days after before processing! This process keep oils in your hair! Good luck and happy coloring!

I bought the pale ash blond. Can I apply this to my natural grey color or do I have to bleach it first?

Asked by: laura jean
Yes, you need to bleach it first when you use a toner, esp. with stubborn gray hair.

I used the t-18 with a 20 developer to get rid of my brassy roots ....left it on for 15-20 minstrel but it did not get rid of the brass should I use it with 40 developer instead?

Asked by: Shorty36
Definitely DO NOT use with 40 volume! T-18 will cancel out yellow tones, but if your hair is more orange/brassy you need to use T-14. Mix with 20 volume developer. Apply to towel dried hair. Let sit for the recommended 30 minutes. T-14 is a blue/violet base which will cancel out orange/yellow tones. Using 40 volume will only fry your hair.
