Additional Information

  • Features liquifuse technology
  • Gentle, extra mild toner
  • Evenly pre-lightens hair

Wella Color Charm Permanent Liquid Hair Toner with liquifuse technology is ideal for creating pure double process blonde hair color results. The extra mild formulation gently and evenly removes brass tones to achieve a perfect blonde every time.
Pre-lighten the hair to desired level before applying toner. Mix 1 part Wella Color Charm toning color with 2 parts 20 volume Wella Color Charm developer. Apply to towel dried hair then, develop for up to 30 minutes. Check frequently to see if desired results are achieved.
You can customize the toner formula by intermixing shades. For example, if you want a shade that is in between an ash tone and a warm tone, try mixing equal parts of T-18 and T-14 with equal parts of T-11 or T-35.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wella T18 Just be mindful to adjust your amounts. I have really long hair and a lot of it. So I have had to adjust up the amount I use for the amount of hair, and also I have adjusted the developer up a notch on previously covered area. Also, as you go outside in the sun, you have to cover, or protect your hair, as when it sunburns, it will go back a few levels lower blond, and look brassy. (just help tips from a DIYer) August 3, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Only lasts for a few days, without any toning shampoo or condtioner. if toning shampoo & conditioner were used, maybe would last. but I was hoping it would last as long as a permanent color. July 27, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Changed my life!! T18 just changed my life, no exaggeration. My natural hair is dark ash blonde, and I've been coloring it for 20+ years. A couple of years ago I decided to start letting the professionals handle my color as I was never able to get it blonde-but-not-brassy on my own, and after wasting tons of time and hundreds upon hundreds of dollars, I realized that the pros couldn't give me a lighter ash blonde either. I wandered into Sally and the girl there handed me the bottle of T18, a bottle of level 10 developer, and sent me on my way. I was nervous about trying it but I am SO glad I did!! I used the whole bottle of toner, mixed it with the level 10 developer in the recommended 2:1 ratio, let it process for 20 minutes, and miraculously, I now have ash blonde hair!!!!! I have literally never been this happy with my hair color. Ever. A couple of notes: - I used level 10 developer per the suggestion of the Sally associate, not the 20 that it recommends on the box. I am not platinum blonde, but medium blonde with some highlights, and I didn't want the lift that the level 20 would've provided. - Watch the processing time!! I've seen other reviews that warn that your hair may actually turn purple if you leave it on too long, and I totally believe it. The toner was a VIBRANT purple on my hair after 20 minutes when I washed it off, and there are pieces of my hair that are walking a fine line between ash and lilac (I'm fine with that). I'm glad I washed it off when I did. My hair is quite dry/damaged, though, so maybe that made it suck up the color quickly. - My hair felt crispy, like it usually does post-coloring, as I was washing the toner out, so I used my Tigi Pro Reconstructing Mask and followed that with a deep conditioner. Besides being ash blonde (!) now my hair feels like silk too! Hope this helps! I totally recommend giving this a try if you're struggling with brassiness! June 7, 2015

I just ombred my hair but it's kinda yellow/orange. I have naturally medium dark brown hair. I want the blonde to pop through but I don't want it to be a really light blonde. I guess more like a dirty blonde. Which toner should I use?

A:
Ask about the T 35 Wella Color Charm Toner at your local Sallys.
Next time don't leave the bleach on for too long. That is the reason for the very yellow hair. The orange is because those sections of hair did not have the bleach on long enough. You want to see a blonde color before you shampoo your hair. Toner will give a nice color and should eliminate brassiness.

My hair gets very brassy whenever I dye it any brown shade and even ash brown. Will this help give my brown hair an ashy tone or is this only for blondes? If so, are there any recommendations for brunettes to rid brassiness? Thanks.

A:
It will help at first to cancel out unwanted tones, but I'm not sure if the result would be ashy, and the result certainly wouldn't last long. I would recommend using Wella's ash intensifier for an ashy result.
