Color Charm Permanent Liquid Toners is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 38.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from 8 years strong I've been doing my own hair and my a lot of my friends hair since I was around 16 and that includes MANY hair colors (natural and unnatural), color combos, and hair types (including extensions). Almost every time, T18 has been the answer. I've tried other toners, methods, and even the different Wella Toners just to see, but T18 can't be beat. Side note: make sure if you've recently treated your hair with harsh chemicals, you're going to, grab a protein filler!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good toner I got professional highlights but I hated them they were small and unnoticeable, so I added tons of highlights to my brown hair with wella bleach & 20vl toner and reapplied bleach to the highlights 2 more times over 3 weeks because my hair was orange. I had no luck with other toners (virgin snow & a drug store kind) in between bleaching and finally today t18 with 20 Vl was a success.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing stuff I did a no-no and dyed my with box dye. As I already knew that it leaves a metallic dye in my hair and is a pain to get out when bleaching. I bleached my hair last year and I fried my hair. I dyed it dark cut it off. Now this time it has taken me two times bleaching my hair to get to the color I need. I still have orange in a little bit of my hair. This toner does work. If you dont get your hair all blonde this toner wont work on really dark hair. Word of advice do not use box dye. Always buy the dye at sallys. I still have a ways to go but this tone t18 works wonders after you lighten your hair to a light blonde color with minimal orange/brass/yellow. Everyones hair pulls different. Make sure to use a deep conditioner after bleaching and toning. Purple shampoo and conditioner is goong to also help tremendously to keep the ash blonde color and help rid of the orange/brass/yellow tones in the hair. It is expensive to go blonde after multiple dyes of box dye. You wont acheive the color you want over night. Its just not possible without frying your hair to the point it has to be cut off. If you have virgin hair you should have no problem bleaching and toning.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I have blonde on top and a dark auburn underneath. I had a lot of gold and orange after I bleached my hair. I used the t28 toner and I still have uneven hair color with spots still orange. What do I do

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing this is my second time purchasing Wella Toners and I love love LOVE them! I will never use another toner ever for my hair.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Be very careful with this! My hair was yellow after a trip to the salon so I bought this. The box says leave on for 30 minutes, I barely left it on for 10 and my hair has a purple tint to it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing I bought this as a last resort, but it should have been the first thing I tried! I was so desperate to get the yellow and orange out of my hair! I purchased the t18 and it worked wonders! I would recommend buying 2 bottles if you have thick hair like me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from From gold and brassy to blonde and classy FINALLYYYYYY!!! I stripped my hair of permanent red Féria dye. Then colored it "dark blonde" which came out to an embarrassing orange yellow mix. My hair is quite damaged i wish I would have known about this first. I'll do a hot oil treatment. It burned a little but this was my first time using it so I probably shorted my ratios. I'm so thankful for this product I'm now back to my natural color(just a little lighter). And I'm never doing That again!

Over the past year I have been growing out my slightly brassy ombré to let my natural ashy brown grow back. I love the color of my roots and don't want it to change, but I do want to tone the middle/bottom section. Will this toner effect my roots as well?

Asked by: hannjch_
My roots are a natural dark ash. While this toner did remove the yellow from my sunbleached hair, I don't recommend applying it to the roots. It lightened my roots but gave them a gold tone which I didnt want. The blonde portion turned out lovely tho, a very cool blonde which I was looking for. If you have dark roots, I don't recommend it.

Hey! I just recently got a platinum box color this past Saturday, I done my hair and it came out this ugly bright yellow color. I was wondering what I would need to get to get this color out? I have a big event coming up and don't want to show up now.

Asked by: Em_Dawn88
If you haven't tried anything yet, I'd try T18. You may be able to tone the yellow out and come out with a darker ash blonde if that's acceptable, without having to re-bleach. I hope you can still go to your event, having lemon yellow hair is the worst! (T-18 saved me from that fate.)

I used the t-18 with a 20 developer to get rid of my brassy roots ....left it on for 15-20 minstrel but it did not get rid of the brass should I use it with 40 developer instead?

Asked by: Shorty36
I have EXTREMELY stubborn brassy hair, and I use T-18 with 20 volume developer and 3 capfuls of the violet toner additive. I only need to leave it on for ~10 minutes to get to a golden blonde, and I probably could leave it on ~15 minutes to arrive at an ash blonde. I do have to re-tone more frequently than I'd like to keep the color neutral, but I'm probably not as diligent as I should be in using a purple shampoo. Hope this helps!

I've never used this product before. Is it safe to dye over this toner? Or will that mess with the dye color?

Asked by: BeautyNewbie95
I tried using it over green dye once and it really did nothing to the color

My hair is a brassy yellow blonde right now. I wanted to try the argain oil 9n permanent hair color with this t14 toner. Would this be a good option?

Asked by: nikkikim
I havent tried that brand... but T14 in Wella gives you a nice silver tone if you just want to remove the yellow go with Wella t-18 that gives you a pale blonde very pretty.

Do I absolutely have to use it with the Wella developer or can I use a different brand developer?

Asked by: Taylor420
I havent tried to use a different developer. I would say use the wella developer and not risk it not working.

Hi I bought the well t18 and when i got home i found out that i ran out of 20 developer and i only have a 30. would be okay if i use a 30 developer instead

Asked by: newbie22
I used 30 on my hair and it came out perfect, just keep in mind it may lift a bit more so I'd be sure to have some good conditioner to follow.
