Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great color never lasts I used two tubes and followed all of the directions. This is not my first time dying my hair but the first with this brand. I adored my hair for the first week. But after only two washes much of the dye was gone. Less than a month later and only a bit of my roots have any color left at all. Very disappointed. Won’t be buying this brand again.

Also another thing is I was told to buy 40 devoloper for my hair to use with the dye but another sally beauty Lady told me to use a 20 and use a 30 developer with my bleach because my hair is dark but my ends are like a honey blond color already? Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Bright Red! I used to have my hair bright red using this product for at least half a year and decided to go back to that color. My hair before dyeing it had light brown ends with black roots. I used a mixture of half the tube with 40 vol on my roots, left it in for 15 minutes before doing my ends with a mixture of the other half of the tube with 30 vol developer. I left it all in for another 30 minutes before rinsing it out in COLD water. For those people saying it fades way too fast, you're probably washing your hair wrong. NEVER wash your hair in hot water, always COLD! And only use color safe shampoo and conditioner, sulfate free. Last tip, try not to wash your hair that often. If you can help it, wash your hair maybe once or twice a week. For the times you want to just wash the rest of yourself, put your hair in a shower cap. Hope this helps!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Niccccccccce ❤️ I used clairol 40 developer with one pack of the magenta cause I have short hair and the color was poppin! If you don't want to use harsh bleach and like to experiment on your hair, I definitely recommend this product! Oh yes and please use gloves the red will stain your nails!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing color with no prelightening! I used red and magenta mixed with a 30 developer. It lifted my hair amazingly! I’m so stoked with how this color came out. Best red hair dye I’ve ever used, hands down.

Do you shampoo first before applying color

Asked by: junebug10
No, colour is better absorbed in oily hair. So apply colour when it's been 2 or 3 days since you shampoo/conditioned last.

My hair is dark brown hair and it’s virgin and I want to dye it burgundy what color should I use

Asked by: ojasmin76
I would use magenta. BUT apply it to the bulk of your hair at least ten minutes before applying to your roots. It will permeate your roots too quickly if you do it all at once and then you will have brown hair with red roots!

Will the red hair dye work in black hair also will it show as a bright red

Asked by: 1256yoyo
It will actually work because you mix this product with developer and it lightens your hair at the same time. That's why this product is for dark hair only

What color would you get when you mix magenta and red? I want a dark red like a vampire red

Asked by: Mayyah726
Magenta's hair color has a pink under tone. Which will result it looking violet purple and pink. That's what happened to me.

Does this work for dark color treated hair?

Asked by: Kimmiexo
If your hair is color treated black I would recommend color oops to strip color out of the hair, then use a protein filler then apply the red hair color

My hair is previously died using this and is a red tint but I want it a brighter red should I use 20 or 30 developer and should I use red or red hot ?

Asked by: Ceciii05
Use a 30 vol devolper then wait a week and do it again. Use the red loreal color. It will lift real red second time.

How long do I leave this in my hair for ?  I’m using volume 30

Asked by: Reina2412
You need to have someone check for you.  You should not do this alone.  Start checking at around 12 minutes and every 5 minutes afterward.  And wash it out as soon as it has lifted
