Rated 1 out of 5 by from Completely ruined my hair I ruined my hair with this stuff. It smells really toxic, it's hard to wash out and it is hard to apply evenly. I got a tiny bit on my scalp and it burns like crazy. it turned parts of my hair orange and others yellow and others white. If you have long hair and you know what you're getting into with this you definitely need more than one packet. I will be wearing my hair up in a hat praying that a salon will get me in tomorrow for a serious fix. Do not mess with this if you don't know what you're doing or you dont have time to fix it if it goes wrong.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from THIS RUINED MY HAIR So I dyed my virgin hair pink with the Splat hair dye but I didn't bleach it. It started to fade and I wanted to take the dye out. My cousin who is a professional used this on my hair and it stripped my hair completely. My hair is now yellow and my natural hair color is gone. I do not recommend at all.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Can Bleach Your Hair! It definitely gets the color out but it turned my hair light pink after less than 10 minutes... Mind you my hair is naturally a dark reddish brown and I had not previously bleached it. I was trying to remove a black rinse and that's what happened. If you're not worried about potentially bleaching your hair lighter than its natural color and plan to recolor it immediately, it does an adequate job. My hair also was not dry or brittle like some of the other reviews btw. I guess it affects every hair type differently. Take caution!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Removed Pravana in Violet! I bought this after watching a you tube videos on how to remove color. I had pravana in Violet and it took it right out. I mixed it with water instead of developer it did a great job, only negative remark is that my hair did feel nasty after

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Never Again! I have dark red hair, I used this to lighten it so I could go bright red again. It did absolutely nothing besides damage my hair. I would NEVER recommend this to anyone. If you have dark red hair don't bother wasting the money. It's not worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New favorite method! I've had very stubborn, dark, high pigmented Teal hair for about 6 months now. I was dreading the process of lightening it to get a pastel color and this made it so painless! I used one packet (with the recommended 20vol creme developer) and POOF, I was left with a very pastel, "barely mint" color. I used a second packet (with the recommended 2oz warm water) just to even out some spots I missed and everything is completely even. This did not FEEL to damage my hair at all and was WAY more gentle than any lighteners would have been. This is my new favorite method of lifting out colors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Got blue out After so much time dealing with the Ion Brights blue stuck in my hair I went dark...and then tried this and it got all the colour out. Hair is very dry but no longer blue:)

Additives ok?

Hi. I'm a licensed professional. My client had level 8 highlights and decided to color it black. this is gonna be my first time doing her hair. She wants the black out, of course! To counteract any dryness, I would like to add some Olaplex or B3 to the Effasol. Since I haven't used effasol before, I don't know if this is a good idea. Thoughts?
Asked by: Zenitram
I'm actually gonna answer my own question because I tried it today lol. Huge thumbs up on the B3 additive (Brazilian Bond Builder). Her hair was thrashed when she came in. And she left with silky hair. Felt like virgin hair! I used 20 volume with 2 packs of effasol and 1 capsule of B3. This is gonna be my new savior!

Can it remove green that has been caused by dying it brown and is it very damanging if you have dyed your hair alot

Asked by: Cc
it depends on what you used that turned it green. If you bought a box color at the drugstore, it may not. Those products contain metallic dyes that coat the hairshaft and should only be worked on by a professional. This is a professional product. If you aren't a licensed professional who knows what they are doing, it can be very damaging. We used properly, it will not damage the hair.

Can this be used to remove metallic salt dyes, such as L'oréal Féria?

Asked by: NikkiMae6

I used 2 packages of effasol with warm water on my black dyed hair, as per the specialist in Sally's. Can I do it again with the developer? Will it absolutely damage my hair?
