Lasts forever Almost every Manic Panic review i've read has commented that it fades quickly especially for being a semi permanent dye. I dyed the bottom layer of my hair with vampire red over a year ago and there are still traces of the color. I'm not sure if my already slightly red tinted hair contributed to the color staying so long or just a weird bottle, but i'm extremely happy with the results. The color is extremely vibrant and doesn't come out splotchy like some other semi permanent brands i've tried. September 19, 2014
Amazing I love the Manic Panic Amplified. I have dirty blonde hair and I first used the Shocking Blue. It was a beautiful dark blue and it lasted about a (I washed it with shampoo every other day) before it started to fade. But it faded to a lighter blue then purple then purple-y pink. I would redye it every 3 weeks. That sounds like a lot but over no bleached hair, it's pretty good. Then I used Purple Haze. Which worked just as well. It faded from dark purple to lighter purple to purple-pink in 3 weeks. Then I used Ultra Violet. Which was a beautiful bright purple but needed to be redye every 2 weeks. It faded pretty quickly over dirty blonde hair. I'm currently using a mix of Purple Haze and Ultra Violet. About half of each bottle. It lasts about 3 1/2 weeks and it stays a really pretty purple for about 2 weeks. August 27, 2014
Great color, lasts as long as all Manic Panic I've been dyeing my hair pastel pink for about a few months, and I've used Ion Color Brilliance and Manic Panic, and now Manic Panic AMPLIFIED. I wanted a color that would last longer - my hair doesn't retain these veggie dyes well and I see a huge difference even after one shampoo. Manic Panic is NOTORIOUS for color fading in the wash, but I'd read that MP AMPLIFIED lasted longer (though not as long as I hear Special Effects** lasts). So far, I'd say it does last a touch longer, but it will still fade (for me) after a shampoo or two. Luckily, it's not more expensive than the regular stuff so no harm in trying it. My usual hair color recipe is (on clean, dry, light hair) 1/2 conditioner, 1/4 Manic Panic Amp'd in Cotton Candy Pink, and the rest is Ion Color Brilliance in Magenta. MIX WELL, and leave it on way longer than the bottle says to (these are veggie dyes so it's really just like you're deep conditioning!) I leave it on 2 hours if I can. I hope this helps! **Special Effects is another brand of dye that is incredible hard to find because it's only manufactured certain parts of the year. IF YOU FIND A GOOD SUPPLIER, HIT ME UP. Ultra Violet I've used the normal version of ultra violet for a few years now and have always found success. This stuff, which is supposed to be "amplified" washes out only after two washes. Then, it fades into a yucky pastel purple that reminds me of 3 weeks without re-dying when I used the normal version. Doesn't stain, has great color for the first wash, but then it turns lackluster very very quickly. March 19, 2014
