Great Leave-In Conditioner I love this as a leave-in conditioner. I use a rinse-out conditioner with protein in it, then a little bit of this, and then any styling products I'm going to use. It's a great detangler and doesn't leave build-up on my hair. It also doesn't have anything that may damage hair, no keratin or proteins, and minimal smell (just a natural shea butter smell, no perfume). I use this every day and am so happy I found it! Great conditioner I love the Shea Moisture brand and have been using the Shea Moisture Restorative Conditioner line for about a month or so and am really enjoying it. I also use their curly line products then seal with coconut oil, and my hair has never been this soft. Love it :) August 31, 2014
Above Average but I do not recommend I got this product via the transition kit and I was so excited to use this. After washing and treating I applied this on my wet hair...and it just sat there. I worked it in, using my hands and it felt like no matter what I did it didn't absorb in my hair follicles. Normally when I use conditioners I don't expect to see it still on my hands after I work it into my hair but with this conditioner it was. Don't get me wrong, my hair felt softer, a bit more manageable but I had tangles out of this world! I couldn't comb my hair (from the roots) for the life of me without getting frustrated. I had thought this was good for detangling but I was wrong. Either way, after applying, I covered it with a conditioning cap and let it on for 30 mins; while using a warm/fairly cool dryer. I assumed this was when it was absorbed in my hair follicles but I couldn't be certain. I used it as a leave in conditioner and set my hair and went to bed. The following morning my hair was thick, and slightly unmanageable. I don't recommend for persons transitioning or with thick hair. It did nothing for my hair, except make it smell good and give it slight moisture. August 25, 2013
One of my Staples 4a/3c This is one of my staple products like 99% of the Shea Moisture products. I use it to seal in hydration (water). The thing about SM products is that you have to figure out how to use it in the best manner for your hair. My hair is highly porous, which means that it is hard to get and keep the cuticle of the hair closed to keep moisture in. I use heavy products to keep hydration in to keep my hair smooth (I make a shea butter mix that I even top this with to put 3 layers of product on my hair, water +SM restorative conditioner+homemade shea butter mix). This product also keeps my hair stretched after a blow dry. I apply my products then put a few plaits in and unravel in the morning. My hair is smooth and soft. I have severe shrinkage and I'm natural and this helps tremendously. I love the smell. It took some getting used to but now I love it, especially during windy, spring days. Don't bother if your hair doesn't respond well to shea butter or heavy products period. If your hair is low porosity it won't work well for you either. Hair type by the Andre Walker system doesn't matter when using products like this. February 8, 2013
