Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome product! This is a product that I already currently use.My local store was out so I went with the website to make my purchase. I LOVE it! The only issue I have is the shipping to Hawaii is extremely high! Priority mail is available in Hawaii people! Should not have cost more to ship than to buy the product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Great on my Dark Hair I bought this dye after trying another dye to get purple tone in my hair (my hair is naturally dark). The other dye i had tried (after bleaching my hair) turned my hair brown instead of purple. I had the ends of my hair dyed blue that was not coming out or getting covered up no matter what i tried. I bought a bottle of the N'Rage Plum and it not only covered the blue that i had been trying to get out, but it also added the purple tone i had been trying to acheive for a while. The only thing I didn't really care for is that the color does run a lot after dying and it does take a while to rinse out if you have thick hair. other than that, i really enjoyed the dye. it smells like bubblegum as well, which was a pleasant surprise while dying my hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from powerful pigment that lasts forever This dye is heavy duty & can last forever - don't use this color if you want a quick fading tint. Purple Plum i've used to cover all hair colors, even black. It shows up dark violet and vibrant no matter what color is underneath. Twisted Teal is my favorite. Like all blue based colors, you really want to lighten your hair as white as possible to see its full potential. The dye looks much more blue than green, a beautiful light turquoise on platinum hair. For all colors of this brand i usually add conditioner to thin the pigment & help ease the application - the dye is very thick and saturated. Although bleaching hair light enough is awful, once you add the dye it's great. The color can last forever. MORE THAN 1 YEAR LATER, i still had the light blue color on my bleached hair, had i not dyed over it with black, i'm sure it'd still be visible now a few more years later.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW This is BY FAR the best hair color I've used for unnatural colors. I can't BELIEVE how vibrant this stuff is and how long it stays that way. I've only had to redye my hair to touch up my roots.. twice in the last 5 months!!! It's been vibrant from day one and barely fades at all. I'll never buy another brand unless they change the formula. AMAZING. People stop me DAILY and ask "where I got my hair done".... I say, "My bathroom", and they are SHOCKED.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from N Rage Stayed Forever! I am 28 - when I was in high school and college I colored my hair "crazy" colors all the time. I got a bit boring for awhile, but recently decided to get back into purple when I saw all the new brands for coloring! At first I tried the grey hair trend by using Wella Color Charm toner, Manic Panic Blue Steel and Pravada, but it did not stay. I decided to go with purple and started with a bottle of N 'Rage and a Splat! Lusty Lavender kit from the drugstore. I read a lot of hair color reviews but rarely write them myself, so I decided to try the Splat on the top half of my hair and the N'Rage on bottom. I had actually bought 2 Splat kits since my hair is long and thick... I ended up returning the second kit unused! I love the N Rage! It smells great!! Also - the portions of my hair where I applied Splat have already faded to that obvious stage where you everybody knows you need to color your hair again.... I colored over those with Ion Brights. But the portions where I put the N Rage? Incredible!!! Still there - and almost as vivid as when I colored my hair 3 weeks ago. 3 weeks may not seem impressive, but believe me, it is!!! The only thing is - it honestly gets everywhere!!! Be prepared to wear a lot of black clothes for a few days. However, the color bleeding was not as bad as Splat (but not as good as Ion Color Brilliance). When I put this on I put it on with a brush, put my hair up in a cap, and let it sit for four hours before rinsing. This may be why I have such great, long-lasting results!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Low quality crazy color dye I've used darn near every brand of these crazy color dyes, and this one was close to the worst. It only lasted a few weeks, and most dyes last months on me. It also stained and bled like crazy. In fact, this is the only dye I've never been able to get off of my shower grout. A year later, and it's still speckled blue. The texture is super thick and hard to use. I will say, it smells like delicious bubblegum. That's probably the only redeeming factor of this dye. Overall, this dye is not worth the time or money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Good, Bright Purple with a Bit of Tweaking I've had bright purple hair for several months now, and finding just the right formula has been a challenge. Manic Panic doesn't last and leaves spots, Splat gives great color payoff but is nearly impossible to remove from the skin, Sparks colors are great, but they are not as easy to find and stain every surface they touch (yet they're not that bad on skin), and Ion Color was just a joke. I decided to try N Rage, and I'm glad that I did. Before I put any product on my hair, I like to get other opinions so I made sure to read reviews for Purple Plum. Some of the "cons" were absolutely ridiculous. For example, all of these "unnatural" colors tend to stain skin, scalp, and surfaces that they touch, so this wasn't an issue for me. Also, since these aren't permanent dyes, they do bleed and fade. However, the one thing that did concern me was that many people were talking about how dark the color was, so I decided to customize it a bit for my own tastes. I want bright, neon, beautiful purple -- not black. So a little overview of my process: My hair was previously purple due to a combo of Sparks, Manic Panic, and Splat. However, I needed to touch up my natural medium brown roots and make sure the color was pretty uniform. Also, previously, the top layer of my hair was purple, underneath was medium brown. I wanted to just go ahead and go all out with the purple, so I decided to bleach my entire head. To do this, I used the Wella Cream bleach with 20 volume developer, and it worked fabulously. It stripped the previous purple down to a light pink, and lightened my roots/natural hair. Please note: If you want your color to be vivid and last, you HAVE to bleach. Putting it on dark hair may result in a slight color tint, but it will wash away almost immediately. You want your hair to be pre-lightened and porous to get the most from your color. Also, I've found that with purples, you don't have to get your hair to bleach-blonde white. On my first round of dying purple, I lifted mine to a golden-orange color, and the purple has went over it beautifully without drying out and damaging my hair significantly. After applying the bleach and letting it do its job, I rinsed it out, used shampoo to get out any residue, and skipped conditioner. This may seem like a crucial step but I've found that N Rage and other similar dyes contain conditioners and because I let them sit for so long, my hair looks shiny, healthy, and feels soft without any breakage when the whole process is complete. Once my hair was COMPLETELY dry, I used a tint brush and bowl to mix N Rage with Manic Panic Purple Haze amplified, and a squirt of Dove conditioner. As far as ratio goes with the two different colors, I couldn't really tell you. I just mixed until it was the color that I liked. I applied it all over, put on a processing cap, skipped the 15 minutes noted on the N Rage packaging, and left it on for about an hour. After it was finished, I did a quick rinse in the sink (please don't do your initial rinse in the shower or it will be purple -- or whatever color is on your head), then hopped into the shower to rinse with cool water -- no shampoo. During the process, I protected my skin with petroleum jelly, but if you're messy like me, you'll find that you still get color everywhere. The color wiped off with soap and a washcloth fairly easily -- especially when compared to other products like Splat. After, I styled my hair, and it's a glorious purple that looks almost neon in certain lighting, while it looks darker brown in very low light, a look I love. Don't be fooled though...this isn't a subtle purple AT ALL. It is very noticeable in natural light and most indoor lighting, although the tone changes depending on the type of lighting you're around. For the next few days, I'll sit with a towel behind my head on the couch and sleep with a towel over my pillow. YES, these colors do bleed. If you aren't prepared for that, then don't use any of these wilder colors -- it's just what they do. For care, I only wash with cold water, use a sulfate-free shampoo, and I use dry shampoo when necessary. I keep styling products (particularly those with alcohol) to a minimum as well. I've just put in this color this week, but it shows no signs of fading. Overall, this product was easy to use, didn't smell overwhelmingly bad like some colors (Arctic Fox is the absolute worst), and gave great coverage. It didn't stain as badly as some colors. I did have to customize it to get the right color (not too dark) and how long it lasts is still up in the air. However, so far, this is one of my favorite products to use, and I highly recommend it for anyone that knows what to expect from these types of colors.

I bought the feisty fuchsia color and I was wondering if it would still show up of my hair isn't bleach blonde?

Right now my hair is faded from a red color so it's orangish and turns more blonde on the ends. I have pretty fine hair and it takes color really well. Also, how much conditioner should I mix in?

do i need bleach

Hi I've got black wanted to go plum colour on my hair what do I need and bleach
Asked by: carla
Depends on what you're going for. I use that color over black hair and it adds a very subtle tint. My hair is shinier with the plum and has a soft purple glow in the sunlight. It is a very dark violet color, i honestly think it looks better over unbleached hair because of how dark it is. If you want a light purple, i don't recommend using this color, but you would definitely need to use bleach.
