Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best straightener EVER!!!! I bought this when I was 16. I am 29 and straighten my hair at least 4 days a week. My straightener finally died yesterday. I had it for 13 years. Never had a problem, it was always easy to clean, got hot fast, did a great job on my hair and the cord never got tangled up. I was really bummed about my straightener dying and thought since it was so old it wouldn't be made anymore. Wrong. I will be picking up a new one tomorrow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Straightening African American Hair I walked into Sally's for a new flat iron. I didn't have much knowledge as to whether or not this item would be a good product. But let me tell you, this item is AWESOME! It is nice and hot to the point I only have to spray my heat protector and pass the iron down my hair once and it's nice and silky. I have very "rough" curly hair that breaks combs and this iron is literally my go to... A professional tool that delivers!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the best straightener! This is the best straightener you can buy. I have been straightening my hair myself for over 10 years. I tried other straighteners but have always come back to this one. Generally it will last 5-6 years then need to be replaced. Well worth the money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Flat Iron I ordered this flat iron for my daughter as a replacement for an old flat iron that she has misplaced. It looked like the one she originally had but I wasn't sure it was the same brand. I also bought as smaller size of the same brand that was on sale. My daughter tried both of them the same day and it seems the smaller one worked the best for her hair. It straightened her hair to the point of straightness she likes. This larger one still left her hair sort of crinkled. She wants to keep both for when she has to take an iron with her away from home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! This flat iron is great ! It made my hair super silky straight in one pass.my hair was flowing and full of body no stiffness whatsoever. I have coarse African-American hair. It was too big to really put curls but I put a bump in my hair and had all kinds of body. No flat iron I ever had made my hair that silky and shiny and full of body.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mix feelings about performance but does the job So the first thing I notice is that the plates don't really touch and that cause me to have to pass the flat iron through my hair several times before It could be straight, which took me longer to do my hair , with the titanium iron from this same brand it only took me 35mn to do my entire hair which is very long and thick and with this one it took an hour. So would I recommend it.? I'm undecided I think I would just say buy the (jibere titanium) brand instead because is faster and great results , the last one I had last 5 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great hot iron I've been using this hot iron for about 3 years now, it's cheap compared to the Chi and I think it does a wonderful job on my thick hair.

Hello and thank you for your question! The 1 ½ inch would be best since your hair isn’t very long.

how many years does the straightner last?

Asked by: sweetpea
I've had mine for almost 10 years, this exact same iron I purchased it for $80 in 2006. It doesn't leave my hair as silky as it use to but other than that it still heats as fast as it did when I first bought it. I have normal long hair.

The voltage for this flat iron, would it work overseas or would I have an issue with it burning out on me? The voltage overseas I believe is 220.

Asked by: Concerned buyer
I have used this in Europe with just an adapter so I could plug it in, did not use converter.
