Lifts my hair four levels! I have naturally thick black hair and bleached my hair silver at the salon this summer. I'm a student, so I couldn't afford doing my roots at the salon every month anymore, and I also became skeptical of the way my stylist bleached my roots (Even though the salon was highly reputable, my scalp would get smothered with bleach so much that applying toner after would make my scalp pain and sting), so I started bleaching with Sally bought bleach to save money and be more in control. I don't regret it! First of all, I try to maintain my hair and keep it as healthy as possible so I was pretty wary of both this bleach and the Quick Blue bleach because of how damaging it seemed from the reviews, so I tried Prism Lites but it barely lifted my hair color. Then I tried Blue Flash and also tried to combat the damage by using Ion Sensitive Scalp 30 developer. I left the bleach on for an hour, and it lifted my hair 4 levels as opposed to 1-2 that the other bleaches gave me!! My hair came out feeling soft and healthy too, maybe even healthier than it did in the salon. I tried Quick Blue as well, but I didn't feel like it lifted as much as Blue Flash would and the bleach dried out faster than Blue Flash did. The first bleach session, my hair would be orangey brunette (level 4). The next time, it was yellowish blonde (level 8). The last time, I would achieve the light yellow blonde color (level 10) I wanted, and would tone it out for a silvery look. I require 3 bleach sessions total to get to a platinum blonde with Blue Flash, opposed to the 2 bleach sessions I would need at the salon. That's okay, because at the salon they would heat the bleach so it would lift faster which I felt was extra damaging to my hair and scalp, and so it would probably take 3 bleach sessions if they didn't use heat. So yay! I found something that works. The only thing I will say is that my scalp still felt a little irritated/itchy while the bleach was on there.. And both Blue Flash and Quick Blue only took a little bit of the brass out of my hair, and I always had to tone with Wella T14 or T18 toner. Even though I totally love Blue Flash, I'm thinking of trying out other bleaches/developer combos in the future. P.S. Before I bleached my roots, I avoided shampoo wash for 2 days and did a coconut oil hair mask an hour before bleaching and left the oil in, which I felt contributed to the health of my hair post-bleaching December 30, 2014
Great Bleach! I used this to lighten/bleach my hair so I can colour it with N'Rage Twisted Teal (srsly, my go to colour, I LOVE IT# and it did an excellent job, without ruining my hair. I mixed this with Ion 30 volume for sensitive scalp. Now, the colour would have lifted better if I separated my hair to bleach it, but that is my fault. It lifted old colour #black and teal# and I waited 20 minutes to touch my roots. When I put the mix on my roots, I waited another 15 minutes and it was time to rinse. No damage, but my hair is a little dry #which is normal with bleaching hair) I had ZERO hot roots using this product. I highly recommend it! February 26, 2014
Prefer this bleach Before I started using this brand of bleach, I had previously tried the kaliedecolors bleach, before moving on to the L'Oreal quick blue. The reason i switched at first, was because they were out of the 16oz LO'real tub, and this one was on sale. I have to say a prefer salon care bleach over the other two. For me it just seems to lighten my hair faster than the quick blue, and I get a much more even result. I use this with ion 20 developer, and am a pretty happy girl. Also, if you're planing on bleaching large sections of hair, or know you'll have to be doing your roots in the future, buy the 16 oz tub, it's worth it, and you get more for your money that way. Yes, you can color your hair after bleaching it, only if your going darker, toning the blonde, and using a LOW volume developer, (e.g. 10 vol diluted 1/2 with water, or leave in conditioner, to make 5 vol.) If you go darker than the color you already have, make sure you use 10 vol. or lower. Only use 20+ volume to go darker if you are coloring grey. Always try to stay clear of coloring your hair more than once every 2 weeks at least, unless toning blonde, if you want your hair to stay strong and healthy! A deep conditioning treatment always helps as well. You can do those right at home =) Hope this information helps and good luck!
