Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW Used this product for the first time 2 months ago to go from a platinum blonde back to my medium brown hair color. I used this and then the hair color right on top and couldn't believe the results! Beautiful even color. Will never color my hair without this again. LOVE IT!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Protein Filler - Warm Brown Used this protein filler on bleach blonde hair and then used Dark Brown from Henna Color Lab. Result: Damaged bleach blonde hair to healthy feeling, fantastic looking natural med. to dark brunette hair.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing I got this to refresh my bright red hair in-between root touch ups. I also hoped this would give my porous ends the fill they needed. So, I followed the "When Color Refreshing" instructions, and I didn't notice any difference. I tried it again, and it still looked like I didn't do anything to my hair. It didn't take, and my porous ends weren't filled. What a bummer. I usually apply hair color without developer to my ends to fill them, then wash and condition, so I'm just go back to doing that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Color Correction On The Cheap Last week, I took my hair from bleached to mostly-natural-looking red. And by bleached, I mean "I've been stripping all the color out of it every six weeks with 30-volume peroxide and Quick White for the last sixteen years, and it's kind of a wonder I even have hair at all." For the last few years, I've stuck with mostly blues and greens, so I had a delightful blue-green staining to my ludicrously porous, stripped-past-the-yellow-tones mess of tortured cuticles I have the audacity to call "hair." The lowest price I was quoted to accomplish the color I wanted was a staggering $350. Without foils, cut, or style. Two salons said they wouldn't touch it at any price. Well, that's why God made Google. I was expecting to have to do at least two applications of demi-permanent color to fill my hair to a point where I could hope to achieve anything close to what I wanted with a permanent color. And then I saw this, and picked it up, thinking "it can't hurt." Two applications of THIS later, and I was able to get the gorgeous medium copper red of my dreams with one application of permanent dye. What's more, my hair actually feels like it grew out of a human's head, and not like the tail of my Barbie's plastic palomino that time I tried to color its hair with nail polish and then freaked out and poured a whole bottle of old-school acetone remover all over it!!! I'm really super tempted to go into one of the salons that quoted me the price of a week-long cruise, climbing up on a styling chair, and shouting "Twenty-three dollars WITH TAX, suckers!!"

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Always keep it around I LOVE this. Every time I bleach my hair, I immediately use this after to get my hair back to feeling soft and healthy. I never mixed it with bleach, I just use while my hair is still wet from rinsing the bleach out. It says it helps lift brassy tones, but it never did anything as far as changing the color of my hair. Recommend to anyone who strips their hair a lot, it will get your hair right back to looking healthy and un-fried :)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Turned my hair blue/green I bought this in #3 platinum, on the bottle it says you can use this to tone all shades of blonde. I followed the 'When color refreshing' directions on the bottle and left it on for 15 minutes... The bottom half of my hair is now a dirty, mucky, blue/green hue. I won't ever be using this again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I read all the reviews and thought I'd try this as a filler going from bleach blonde to brown. The instructions say to apply to wet hair and leave on for 15-20 minutes. I should've left it on for probably 30-35 minutes. It didn't penetrate all the way through and blonde was still showing. I would recommend 2 bottles if you hair hair past your shoulders.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works alright... Used this as a refresher almost four weeks after coloring my hair. Applied it to wet hair then washed and conditioned as usual. It did blend in a lot of new growth and add some vibrancy back to the color but it did nothing to the grays. Left my hair feeling soft. Also if you have thick and long hair, you'll have to use the whole bottle.

can I mix the red and purple together to get a burgandy color over my brown ?

Asked by: nikki
The purple one is for platinum hair or blonde it's not a violet but the red should do fine with purple hair or there is a neutral you can use with any color and get the streghting benifit

would this be ok to use on dark auburn ?

Asked by: hay
Hello, and thank you for your question. Yes, that should be fine if you have already colored your hair and are using the product as a color refresher. If you have not colored your hair the product has to be mixed in the with the color and developer mixture you have chosen. It’s used to help strengthen the hair primarily.

Can I use this over highlights?

I have highlights, I want my natural dark hair back. Can I use this to help fill in the bleached and brassy tones? Then dye with regular hair dye? Thank you
Asked by: Gabglo
Hello, and thank you for your question. Colorful Professional Protein Filler can be used to evenly distribute hair color, refresh fading hair color and to correct porous hair that reflect unwanted hues from hair coloring errors and contact with chlorine.

If I put this strait into brown hair for 10-15 mins will it lift my hair?

Asked by: TheHairDyer
Hello, and thank you for your question. To evenly distribute hair color, add half the bottle of protein filler into hair color mixture then mix. Next, apply this mixture to the ends of the hair. Leave the mixture on the hair for 15 to 20 minutes. Afterwards, add water to massage hair into a lather then rinse thoroughly.

Protein Filler Red Red

Hi, I want to dye my hair a dark red violet color. Will this protein filler in "red red" make the color brighter? Or will it make it darker and more intense? I want to add a cap full of it into my hair dye but I am afraid it will make the dye brighter and more red. Thanks So Much in advance.
Asked by: Hair Crazy
If your color right now is blonde or damaged/ porous and you want to go darker or red ( sounds like you want to do both) then you need to use this regardless OR "fill" your hair with a reddish brown permanent color first. ( Use a 10 volume developer for this if you're going darker.) Blonde or damaged hair WILL NOT hold red unless it has a warm base and is "filled" with protein. If you don't "fill" your hair you will end up with orange or pink hair. If you hair is very bleached or platinum you may need to fill your hair several times before your dark red hair will "stick". Please keep in mind that even AFTER you fill your hair, when going red- you will STILL need to color it and put protein back in quite often. It is ALOT of upkeep. Also, a capful of this isn't really going to do anything. I use half a bottle each time I "fill" my hair. Hope this helps.

I used the Gold for years to add color and shine to my hair. Now it is not available. Have I been using something for years that was bad for me?

Why did you discontinue just the Gold? I don't understand. I can't use platinum. My hair would be blue. I'm sure there are other blondes who would like to have this back. Is it available anywhere else? I am just very disappointed. I had a brand new bottle and my little Grandson put conditioner and shampoo in it and now it doesn't work, and when I went to Sally to get more, it was gone and I was told that it was discontinued. I get to much red from gholfden blonde coliring and I just recently had to use a natural blonde and my hair is almost white. Not good. If there was a hidden danger to cause you to discontinue selling it, would you please make those of us who used it aware so that we can act accordingly? If not, would ypu please, please bring it back, even if only online? Thank you.

I don't think the platinum would really turn your hair blue, just make sure your hair is wet before you apply it. I tried to use it to lift brassy tones and get more of that "white" look but it never did, just made my hair ridiculously soft. But everybody's hair is different, if it turned your hair blue before than I guess I would try to find a different filler that carries gold still. If the company didn't stop making it all together I'm sure you could find it on amazon, the internet is a vast and expansive place.

how do you know which color to buy...does it also put color in hair

Asked by: Anonymous
Which ever color you plan on dying your hair, such as Red Red if your dying your hair red ETC. This deposits very little color, it is not a hair dye it is a protein filler.
