Additional Information

  • Rebuilds hair structure for six weeks
  • Ideal for permed, tinted or relaxed hair
  • Stops hair breakage

Aphogee Two Step Protein Treatment is a unique treatment formulated with magnesium and modified proteins which fuse into the hair with the application of heat. The result is that breakage is drastically reduced. ApHogee Two-Step Protein Treatment is a salon service product unlike any product available for at-home use. During the process, ApHogee treatment hardens into the hair, dramatic evidence that something special is occurring.
Shake well before use. Gently cleanse hair with ApHogee Shampoo. Rinse thoroughly and towel blot. Apply enough ApHogee Treatment to thoroughly saturate hair and comb blend for even distribution. Leave hair uncovered. Do not use a plastic cap, and seat client under medium heat dryer. (Alternatively, a hand dryer may be used, but hair should not be agitated while drying.)

Note: When ApHogee Treatment is dried into the hair, the hair becomes extremely hard. Do not comb or brush hair while ApHOGEE Treatment is dried and in the hair. Re-wet and gently rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Apply ApHogee Moisturizer to hair & scalp. Leave for 2 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Proceed to next service or style as usual.
CAUTION: Please read and follow instructions on back label carefully! Use Aphogee Balancing Moisturizer after use of the Two Step Protein Treatment. Requires heat for best results. When protein has dried, do not bend or agitate hair. Always rinse thoroughly with luke warm water and follow with Balancing Moisturizer. For color treated hair, it is best to use prior to freshining color. Two-Step Protein Treatment is for Professional Use. For best results a hooded dryer is required.

It actually works! To be honest I really wasn't expecting much from this product but I was pleasantly surprised. I'm not a hair professional but even I could use it. I followed the instructions to the T and it worked amazingly . A++ April 10, 2015
Great stuff!! So I recently went to the salon about two weeks ago and the lady left the bleach on my hair for WAY to long my hair is now badly damaged. After the incident I googled what to do my hair felt gummy and mushy and was falling out badly when it was wet and I was this close to just getting a bob cut my hair is long but I was devastated my hair is my life and I truly regret going to that salon to dye my hair. Well I bought this product since I read all the great reviews I must admit the product smells HORRIBLE but its a small price to pay..I shampooed my hair then applied the two step protein and blow dryed it for about an hour my hair got really hard and then I washed it out and used the moisturizer after. My hair feels much better now it's still breaking a bit but I wasnt expecting my hair to be perfect but it has helped my hair so much I feel so much better now! I will deffinetly be using it again in six weeks hopefully my hair will be healthy in no time! October 6, 2014
Maybe I didn't do it right, but no results. I have very long, thin hair. My hair has recently been bleached, and ever since..I've been trying everything to restore it. I have a lot of breakage, and my hair is gummy and mushy when wet. I've read, and heard multiple things about how well this product works..and how well it takes away that gummy, stringy feeling. Which, is what I battle with the most! I purchased the small packets from my local Sally's. My hair is well past my chest, so needless to say, one packet wasn't nearly enough. I saturated the bottom, and worked my way up to the top the best I could. This product is very runny, and sticky! Afterwards, I dried it with a normal hand blow dryer for about 25/30 minutes - until it was rock hard, and making a crunchy noise. I then rinsed as it said. My hair was still extremely mushy/gummy, and breaking off as I was rinsing it in the sink. I used my heat-resistant spray, and then dried/styled like I normally do. It made my hair very rough, poofy, and thick-feeling. I had to deep condition twice. I said I would recommend this to a friend, only because I did notice less shedding for about a week, but sadly enough - it came back. I still have the gummy/mushy feeling. I am going to purchase this product again (the bigger bottle this time) so I can give it another go. I've read things from other customers, and some say you have to leave it on the head for an hour, or more. I'm thinking maybe I just didn't leave it on long enough, or have enough of the product saturated in my hair. I am really crossing my fingers that this time works! Also, if you have a weak stomach, brace yourself - this stuff smells like vomit! August 20, 2014
I Had High Hopes, but... I am an African American, 50+ woman with fine, medium thick, shoulder length hair. I am growing out a relaxer (16 mths since the last one); therefore, I have half natural and half relaxed hair. In the past year, I have experienced increased breakage, shedding and frizz. I was excited when I read all of the glowing reviews about the Aphogee protein two step treatment. Therefore, I gave it a try. I followed the directions to the letter. (1) Shampooed and rinsed (2) Saturated hair w/ Aphogee Protein Treatment and let it dry under a hooded dryer (3) Rinsed (thoroughly) out the protein treatment (4) Slathered on Aphogee Balancing Moisturizing Conditioner (5) Rinsed (6) Applied a Deep Moisturizing Condition (7) Rinsed The protein treatment has a vile odor--sort of like vomit w/ a hint of vinegar--sorry, just being truthful. Fortunately, the odor disappears once it begins to dry. I know that I am in the minority with my review. Heaven knows I had high hopes and wanted this product to work, but it did absolutely nothing beneficial. My hair looked exactly the same. I usually like Aphogee products, but I didn't like this one. I wasted my Saturday morning doing this treatment :-( October 7, 2013

A:
I use it at least a week before so that my hair is strong enough to "take" the relaxer. My stylist commented on how healthy it makes my hair before the relaxer.
