Additional Information

  • Rebuilds hair structure within six weeks
  • Ideal for permed, tinted or relaxed hair
  • Stops hair breakage

Aphogee Two Step Protein Treatment is a unique treatment formulated with magnesium and modified proteins which fuse into the hair with the application of heat. The result is that breakage is drastically reduced. ApHogee Two-Step Protein Treatment is a salon service product unlike any product available for at-home use. During the process, ApHogee treatment hardens into the hair, dramatic evidence that something special is occurring.
Shake well before use. Gently cleanse hair with ApHogee Shampoo. Rinse thoroughly and towel blot. Apply enough ApHogee Treatment to thoroughly saturate hair and comb blend for even distribution. Leave hair uncovered. Do not use a plastic cap, and seat client under medium heat dryer. (Alternatively, a hand dryer may be used, but hair should not be agitated while drying.)

Note: When ApHogee Treatment is dried into the hair, the hair becomes extremely hard. Do not comb or brush hair while ApHOGEE Treatment is dried and in the hair. Re-wet and gently rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Apply ApHogee Moisturizer to hair & scalp. Leave for 2 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Proceed to next service or style as usual.
CAUTION: Please read and follow instructions on back label carefully! Use Aphogee Balancing Moisturizer after use of the Two Step Protein Treatment. Requires heat for best results. When protein has dried, do not bend or agitate hair. Always rinse thoroughly with luke warm water and follow with Balancing Moisturizer. For color treated hair, it is best to use prior to freshining color. Two-Step Protein Treatment is for Professional Use. For best results a hooded dryer is required.
Deionized Water, Hydrolyzed Animal Protein, Magnesium Sulfate, Citric Acid, Ethylene Urea, Dimethylol Urea, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Magnesium Carbonate, DMDM Hydantoin, Fragrance

Maybe I didn't do it right, but no results. I have very long, thin hair. My hair has recently been bleached, and ever since..I've been trying everything to restore it. I have a lot of breakage, and my hair is gummy and mushy when wet. I've read, and heard multiple things about how well this product works..and how well it takes away that gummy, stringy feeling. Which, is what I battle with the most! I purchased the small packets from my local Sally's. My hair is well past my chest, so needless to say, one packet wasn't nearly enough. I saturated the bottom, and worked my way up to the top the best I could. This product is very runny, and sticky! Afterwards, I dried it with a normal hand blow dryer for about 25/30 minutes - until it was rock hard, and making a crunchy noise. I then rinsed as it said. My hair was still extremely mushy/gummy, and breaking off as I was rinsing it in the sink. I used my heat-resistant spray, and then dried/styled like I normally do. It made my hair very rough, poofy, and thick-feeling. I had to deep condition twice. I said I would recommend this to a friend, only because I did notice less shedding for about a week, but sadly enough - it came back. I still have the gummy/mushy feeling. I am going to purchase this product again (the bigger bottle this time) so I can give it another go. I've read things from other customers, and some say you have to leave it on the head for an hour, or more. I'm thinking maybe I just didn't leave it on long enough, or have enough of the product saturated in my hair. I am really crossing my fingers that this time works! Also, if you have a weak stomach, brace yourself - this stuff smells like vomit! August 20, 2014
I Had High Hopes, but... I am an African American, 50+ woman with fine, medium thick, shoulder length hair. I am growing out a relaxer (16 mths since the last one); therefore, I have half natural and half relaxed hair. In the past year, I have experienced increased breakage, shedding and frizz. I was excited when I read all of the glowing reviews about the Aphogee protein two step treatment. Therefore, I gave it a try. I followed the directions to the letter. (1) Shampooed and rinsed (2) Saturated hair w/ Aphogee Protein Treatment and let it dry under a hooded dryer (3) Rinsed (thoroughly) out the protein treatment (4) Slathered on Aphogee Balancing Moisturizing Conditioner (5) Rinsed (6) Applied a Deep Moisturizing Condition (7) Rinsed The protein treatment has a vile odor--sort of like vomit w/ a hint of vinegar--sorry, just being truthful. Fortunately, the odor disappears once it begins to dry. I know that I am in the minority with my review. Heaven knows I had high hopes and wanted this product to work, but it did absolutely nothing beneficial. My hair looked exactly the same. I usually like Aphogee products, but I didn't like this one. I wasted my Saturday morning doing this treatment :-( October 7, 2013
I love this stuff! This product was recently recommended to me by a fellow curly haired coworker, especially after I told her I was going to bleach my hair platnium, The ends of my hair were dry (from my curls, I was told a lack of protein as well) The salon I went to would not perform the treatment before, so I bleached it anyway, my very dark brown hair turned golden blonde, and a few days after trying to find a salon I performed the treatment at home with my handheld dryer, I ended up cutting my SUPER dead ends off (about 3 inches I'm sure) but the rest of my hair feels wonderful. I'm in the second week after my bleach (and intend to re-bleach again to go lighter next week) I performed another treatment tonight, and my hair feels even better, I love this stuff, and I can't get enough of it, I also love the two minute keratin conditioner, I just bought about 5 new aphogee products to try, I can't wait to get them, this is a must have for dry curly, frizzy, unmanageable hair, or after a chemical treatment such as bleaching! THANK YOU THANK YOU Just brought this today because of the positive review and man am I happy I did. My hair was breaking off so bad, and it was no one's fault but my own. I had died my hair with a 40 volume developer, then two weeks later did a relaxer, three weeks later put bleach on my hair to lighten the color, and lastly three days laters dyed it lighter again. Of course during all of this my hair became damaged and started breaking. Used this and immediately my hair breakage became normal hair shedding. My hair felt stronger and smoother. It took an hour and a half standing their holding my hand held dryer and standing under the shower head rinsing it out, BUT it was so worth it. Plan on buying the two minute keratin and tea oil spray. This product SAVED MY HAIR!!!!! April 8, 2013
