Great for all hair types, and will help you create healthy, strong, beautiful curls with added body and shine. Achieves the 30 second curl™ by blow drying hair first to evaporate moisture

The Soft foam rollers are infused with gentle steamed moisture. Hair is then wrapped on the infused roller and covered with a shield. The Patented roller and shield design creates even moisture penetration and allows airflow for quick evaporation, or speed the process with a hair dryer. Gentle moisture penetrates the hair's molecular core allowing it to relax and bend. As moisture evaporates, hair is set in curled position. The molecular hold is so strong, it can only be released by shampooing.

Creates perfect spiral curls & waves and curls last for days.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Caruso Hairsetter Not as good as the one I had 30 years ago. Maybe because it used salt and the curl seemed to last longer. Also, I'm disapointed and would not have bought it if I knew I couldn't get the comb clips that I used to be able to buy. It came with 3, but not enough, and they are nowhere to be found, even from the company. I have short, very straight hair and the comb clips held my hair in place as I was rolling my hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this! Had the old version of this and the new version is just as good, if not better! Easy and fast to use , great curls and waves. If other reviewer complained of frizzies, she didn't wait a few minutes after she took the rollers off.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from caruso I may grow to like using this item eventually, but my first couple of times using have been less than I expected. Left my hair too wet to hold the set. Will keep trying to figure it out based on the fact that my hair that does not dry quickly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Making my hair frizzy I am not sure what I am doing wrong but I have very long, thick, naturally wavy hair. These rollers are making my hair extremely frizzy. Can anyone offer any advice as to how I can fix this. I would like to continue using them if I can get this figured out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great in humid weather I've used these the past 3 humid/rainy days and my hair is retaining most of the curl. I use thermal protection hair spray before I put the rollers in, and I use hair spray after, but that's pretty much what I did when I used a curling iron. The Caruso set with steam is MUCH better in the humidity. I'm happy! My hair is short and on the thin side, so I use "end papers" that I made with satin fabric. The squares are about 4x3, and they help keep my ends straight on the rollers as well as adding bulk that helps the roller clips grab and stay in place. I just wrap the "end papers" around my hair section just before wrapping my hair on the roller, and then I put the clip over it. Without the extra bulk, the rollers tended to slip. I use the blow dryer for a minute or two just before pulling out the rollers, to make sure any steam that might have cooled to liquid, gets evaporated. It really takes about 5 minutes for the curl to take, and another 10 minutes or so to let most of the steam escape. Fast and easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the Caruso's I bought two sets to give to my daughters. We feel like they give an excellent curl without damaging your hair. There were lots of curlers in the set:) We LOVE them!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great once you learn how to use it This is my second purchase of the steam setter, the first being back in the 90's when it first came out, and I used that for years until it finally wore out. But I forgot how to use it! There is a learning curve with this product as it does not, nor is it meant to, perform like regular hot rollers. My hair is cut in 10-12 in. layers and is thick. I first used it by placing the rollers (large size) at the end of my hair and winding to the scalp using a lot of tension. This resulted in tight curls at the ends only, about 2 in., and quite a bit of frizz after brushing out with a vent brush. I was disappointed, but kept experimenting. After some trial and error, what works best for me is to take large sections, place the roller one half to one third down towards the ends and wrap the hair around the roller with medium tension, tuck the ends in, and roll the rest of the way to the scalp. I only use 10-11 rollers on my entire head, 3 on the top, rolling backward, 1 above each ear, rolling downward, 2 on each side, and 1 or 2 more in the back, let set 10 minutes. I find the more hair is in the roller, the more secure it is when the shield is clipped on. Sometimes I need a small clip to keep the roller secure, maybe for 2 or 3 rollers, on the right side of my head (maybe my hair is thinner on that side?). The brush used for the brush out makes a difference. I like 1940's vintage style waves, like Rita Hayworth or Lauren Bacall, not a head full of curls. I get good results with a large, round boar bristle brush, not a vent brush. For lots of volume, bend over and brush out thoroughly, my hair looks wild at this point, but it gives me the base needed to brush the waves into place. Sometimes I use large clips to form and hold an "S" wave into place between the crown and ear, and give it a good spray. This usually lasts through the day, weather permitting if I need to go outside. This set does not last until the next shampoo, as stated on the 1990's video, at least not in my experience. On me, there is still some slight wave the next day, after sleeping on it, but my hair is oily, so I usually wash it every morning, anyway. My only complaint is the price up here in Canada - almost 50% more than listed on the US website, but I'm getting used to that since moving up here from the states 2 years ago. Other than that I'm satisfied. Firm curls, or waves, quick to set, little to no damage to hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from still working after 20+ years I got one of the first Caruso sets available professionally. I paid almost 200$ for it "back in the day". I used it daily in my salon, I loved it for prom and wedding styles. My set came with enough rollers to do 2 people at a time. I loved it then and I love it now that I have retired. I still do my daughter's hair with it and use it on myself. I don't have a bad thing to say about it...Thanks for all the years Caruso!

Am I able to order extra rollers for the Caruso steam roller set? I need more of the smaller ones.

Asked by: LuluGuisinger
I'm sorry that I don't know the answer to your question. I purchased 2 sets so that I could use more rollers at once. There are not enough rollers in one set, also it depends on the length and amount of hair that you have. I had 1 larger set many years ago that worked out very well! I haven't been able to find that set since then. I love these rollers. If you're capable I would suggest waiting until they're on sale to purchase two sets of the Caruso steam rollers.!! Otherwise you can only steam part of your hair at a time. When they're on sale the price is great and affordable!! Have a Great New Year!!

Caruso pro-set hairsetter

Where can I buy new sponge rollers for my Caruso. Over the years many are dried-out.
Asked by: Anonymous
I have never seen just the sponge part for sale, but have heard of some people using regular sponge rollers (like the kind to sleep on) to replace the foam part.

is the steam unit available without any curlers?

Asked by: Anonymous
In my experience, the foam part of these rollers is very inferior in quality. When the foam started splitting and breaking off, I bought cheap foam curlers and inserted them over the plastic rods. I bought foam rollers in a size comparable to what I was replacing on the Caruso unit. It took one and a half of the foam rollers to cover each post. Since replacing the foam, I haven't had to replace them again...and this was several years ago. I have fine, thin hair and "set" my hair each morning. After rolling my hair, I get under the hair dryer for 15 - 20 minutes to make sure all moisture is gone before combing out my hair. I use a firm holding hair spray as well as hair gel. While my curl lasts longer with the Caruso Steam Rollers than any other roller, the curl is gone the next day. This does not change the high recommendation I give this product. I am on my 3rd unit.
