Wahl 5-Star Balding Clipper
Excellent clippers, best I've used for the "bald" cut
These clippers are wonderful and perform exactly as the name suggests. They cut very close and glide effortlessly across your scalp. With other clippers (and I've tried quite a few!) it would take several passes to cut all the hairs in one section. With these clippers, one pass and you are bald! Be careful when using these as they are very sharp and could nick you if you're cutting on your own hair. I have sensitive skin in general, especially on the nape of my neck, and typically would get small bumps after a haircut. I once developed folliculitis from using poor quality clippers that required multiple passes to cut my hair. All the back/forth just irritated my scalp. With these Wahl Balding Clippers, there have been no bumps what-so-EVER! I am highly pleased, not to mention saving $80/month in barber expenses. :-)

Customers LOVE it!
I decided to try this clipper when my old Wahl had gave up the ghost after 10 years. I was getting a lot of guys wanting "to go to the wood" and having very tight fades so I decided to try the Wahl Balding clipper over keep using a trimmer to get the fades that tight.
WOW! first haircut with the new Balding clipper and both my customer and I were thrilled with the results!!
Clippers come with 2 ends that would be equal to about 1 &1/2 and the other about 1/2 in addition to the other clipper ends I have, making fades blend easier. And the "to the wood" totally bald cuts shorter than they have ever been.
What more could you ask for? A clipper that make your job easier and the customers happy!

Good but not great
The clipper is not too heavy and for the most part feels sturdy. The plastic housing on top flexes and makes me wonder how it would last in a salon under daily use. The main complaint I have is that the cutting blade is longer in the centre than on the outside edges so that the cutting length is not consistent across the blade (i.e. it is curved with zero overlap in the middle, but not so on the outside edges). If you are using the attachments its probably irrelevant (who cares about a fraction of a millimetre), but because I use it to completely remove my hair, I don't think it is ideal. So far I prefer my Andis T-outliner for complete hair removal.

I bought this for my boyfriend, as it was recommended to him by someone else. He loves it, says it works perfectly and does not nick his newly bald head. He is now able to close-crop his own head just as well as a barber.
