Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wella T18 toner This is a great product ,all the bad reviews i have read are from consumers and NOT licensed cosmetologists. Apparently the "untrained" consumers are using this product incorrectly or under bad advice. I am a licensed cosmetologists and use this product at least 2-3 times a week on my clients with none of the bad experiences I have read here!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Always washes out! I've bought this toner twice now and each time it washes out after my first shampoo. After my first time I tried changing to ions non sulfer shampoo and conditioner for coloured hair instead of the colour shampoo I was using. And no it still washed my colour after my first wash!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DONT USE. I have spent over 100$ on wella products to fix a messed up job from a stylist. My hair has now fallen out? It rips if I touch it. My hair is 5 shade. The I used 4 different toners which NONE of them worked at all or did what they said they would. Now my hairs dead and falling out and 5 different colors. Grey, orange, yellow, blonde and white. Try to figure that out. This brand is horrible. I would give it 0 stars but that's not an option. Save yourself, don't use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Wonders! My hair was straight up black to begin with. I started with a "blonde" dye (stupid, I know) which turned my hair a terrible orange color. Afterwards I bleached it once, leaving it a yellow/orange color. Then today I bleached it for a second time, leaving it a pale yellow, and I had high hopes that this product would remove that awful yellow tinge. I bleached my hair, shampooed with a purple shampoo, followed by towel drying my hair pretty well. I used one part Wella T18 with two parts of a 20 volume developer. I let it sit in my hair for about 20-25 minutes. It did the trick!!!! In love with how it turned out! (Bottom photo)

I bleached my dark blonde hair twice to a pale yellow. I used T11 with 20 developer, and it's very pale oatmeal blonde. Can I use a darker toner next time to bring it down a little to a slightly darker oatmeal blonde?

Asked by: wanda123
Yes! I'd recommend the Color Charm 632 smokey ash blonde. Leave it on for about 10-20 mins.

Can I us Wella, Color Charm, Toner T-18 with same ratio , 1 part to 2 part Wella, Color Charm, Toner T-18 on Darkest-Brown/Black hair color to just eliminate brassy tones, such as, orange, red, yellow/gold before I apply the desired color & effect?

I have medium brown hair and when I try to get my hair lighter shade. I'm trying to get a dark Ash blonde but always turns a reddish colour. Would this be a good product to use? How would I use this?

Asked by: Leandram
Toners are not meant to lighten nd you shouldn't use nore than 20 vol developer and it can take away some of the unwanted tones depending on what toner you use and checking with a color wheel can help you determine what tone to use like if it's red undertones you want to get rid of try a color opposite to it on a color wheel. You would use this product after lightening your hair to get unwanted tones out and it's supposed to only be used with 20 vol developer and make sure to read instructions thoroughly first and do a strand test before you jump to the whole head.

Okay so i have brassy medium blonde hair with lighter blonde highlights if i use this to tone down my brass will it cover up my highlights?

Asked by: Refrigerator
It depends on the level of toner used and toners will NOT lift you to a lighter level it will only enhance or cancel out tones so it may make the highlights a bit darker if you are using a darker level of toner but it is temporary so it should was hour after a while

So i have prelightend hair, and it still has a peachy pink and light orangey color to it. Should I use t18? Or mix with another? Or any other one?

Asked by: Cheyenne141
If your hair is still orange I would try to bleach it again first. I would use the ashy toner like T18 or T14 I believe. Leave it on a bit longer if you like but know what your hair can handle for developer with the toner, 30 volume might be too harsh on pre-bleached hair.

I got ombré done a month ago,and now it's brassy, which toner do I use to take out orangey tones to get to a honey blonde color?

Asked by: Brianna2004
Toners are great for banishing brass- the blue or purple tones combat the orange and yellow in hair. I always use the T18 or lightest ash blonde. The ash is cool helps to get rid of the warmth of brass. Just don't leave on for too long as it may then get too ashy!

Asked by: pattyannl
You need to bleach the roots again, possibly doing a soap cap might help as well. Good luck!
