Wella Jewel
Mix Ratio: 1 part haircolor, 2 parts developer. Lighter than natural shade, first time application: Develop for 15 minutes, check, then process up to an additional 15 minutes or until color is even. Darker than natural shade, first time application: Develop for 30 minutes, check, then process up to an additional 15 minutes if additional coverage is needed.

Tips for achieving optimum coverage on gray hair:

1. Select a shade level 8 or darker for best coverage; Lighter shades will create a translucent effect.

2. Shades from Natural or Gold Family will produce a more natural result with optimum coverage.

3. Mix with 20 Volume Well Color Charm Developer

4. Apply generously starting at the area with highest percentage of gray or most resistant.

5. Process for 30 minute, extend to 45 minutes if needed.

6. For better coverage on hair that is more than 50% gray, use a fashion shade from the Red Family and mix with equal parts of Wella Color Charm Natural or Gold shade at the same level.

Beautiful Color & Excellent Results I paid $150 at a local salon who bleached my roots and then used a high lift color on my hair to give me a "platinum blonde color". After watching some online tutorials I realized I could do the same thing for alot less at home. And in fact, I got a better result than what I did at the salon with a few careful steps! My hair color is a medium brown level 7. I purchased bleach and 30 developer mixed 2:1 and touched up my roots for 30 minutes. I went on to use this toner 1:1 with a 20 developer for 8 minutes. Now keep in mind my natural color was previously lifted so I only needed to lift it 4 levels but I do not recommend leaving this toner on more than 8-10 minutes max no matter what your color is. This was what my salon did too and she explained that if it was left on longer it would damage my hair. Her advice for my natural color was bleach roots and darker hair, then 8 minutes with 2 more sessions to achieve the desired results. In addition, from the advice of another stylist once my hair has reached the desired bleach blonde I should use a 10 developer for this toner which wont be as damaging to my thick fine hair. The key is do not go overboard, it will take several processes to get your hair to the desired result without damaging it. I love this color because my hair previously had some brassiness to it and the beige blonde took out most of the brassy color and deposited a beautiful beige blonde. Perfect toner for those who look better in neutral or warm colors but do not like golden shades or warm shades in their hair. This color is almost a frosty beige blonde. I love it!! August 15, 2012
Great product! I have been using this for years, and my hair always turns out so shiny and soft. September 25, 2014
The "reds" are my favorites! I've been "assisting" my hair's red color for many years, and I've tried so many brands I can't remember them all. I always comes back to Wella, because I find it has the most natural-looking, long-lasting red shades of any other brand. I never get unintended purple or pink tones in my hair, and the reds are so vibrant. Cyclamen is gorgeous for ruby-red highlights. I love to blend the different red shades for multi-tonal highlights and incredible shine. My only problem with Wella is fairly recent...I have a hard time covering my gray hairs. I usually use Wella or Ion developers (10-40 volume depending upon mood/need) no matter what brand of coloring I use, and they work for covering grays with other brands (i.e. Ageperfect and Ion), but for some reason the Wellas won't deposit thoroughly on my gray hairs. Even Black Cherry, which is Level 3, doesn't cover completely. September 20, 2014
Choose Color Wisely I used T-14 on level 8-9 hair trying to get a light silvery tone to my hair. I didn't realize how dark it was. There was no problem with the actual toner other than smell. Choose your color more wisely than I did and you'll be very impressed! The tone is very even and the color is pretty. My hair isn't very damaged, just a little dry. September 6, 2014

Basically, I need a product that will only affect my dyed hair, not my natural. I have grown out my natural medium ash brown hair color for a few years and recently got an ombre. I asked for a caramel, but the toner the hairdresser used only made me a medium ash blonde. It doesn't look bad and I plan to wait a month or two before doing anything else to my hair as I don't want to damage it further, but I would prefer to have a caramel ombre and am wondering if using this product will solve my problem. More specifically, I am worried that if this product will change both my natural hair color and the blonde sections, that I will mess up the way my ombre fades from my natural to the blonde color, but if it will only take to the dyed portions, then I can apply it all over the blonde and not worry if it touches my natural.

I bleached with bright yellow results (as expected). I then used T35 to tone the color with 20 vol developer, but I did not realize it had red undertones - so I am now a strawberry blonde; However, what I wanted was a beige blonde. How soon is it ok to use a different toner with 20 vol developer again?

First, use a toner once the previous toner has faded or else you will have color build up and your hair won't turn out the way you want.
Second, use a 10 vol developer with toner instead of 20 vol. 20 vol developer lightens hair and will damage your hair if used too many times. 10 vol only opens the hair shaft so you can deposit color without damage.
Hopes this helps! :)
