Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible I just went blonde from a level 7 brown and the results were highlighter yellow with orange undertones. I was absolutely devastated! After trying several DIY toners with very little success, I picked this up in 811/8N. I wasn't sure about it, I didn't know how much to make or if it would just make it worse. I left it in for less than fifteen minutes (the recommended minimum) because I was nervous, but it came out amazing! It looks so much more natural than before, it's amazing. If you're looking to tone your hair after a bad dye job, this stuff is perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This saved a salon disaster I had dark violet hair for about a year and it has proven difficult to remove the leftover red color from my hair. All I wanted was to get close to my natural light brown hair color. I went to a high end salon and paid $140 for her to butcher my color. She dyed it a brown color and added some balayage highlights. I had high hopes for the end result and was sadly disappointed. There was just as much red as before. but she also somehow made my roots several different colors, one being very orange and brassy. It was very unflattering. So, I decided to get some color oops, a deep conditioning treatment and this Wella Color Charm in medium ash brown. I used the Color Charm 20 volume developer. After all was said and done, my hair has zero red tones and it is very close to my natural dirty brown color. I was presently surprised that my roots are not all kinds of different shades because the color oops still left them funky. All in all, I would definitely recommend this if you have a sudden fear of professional stylists.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful product I love the new colors that I have been seeing and decided that I would go with the Steel Blue/Grey. Off I go to the salon I have been using for years. Bleached and colored. $250 later...not even close to what I was looking for. Ughhhhh!!!! Next stop ..YouTube. Found the color and watched a boat load of videos. Wella Color Charm T14 & 050 got me exactly the color I wanted. I let the old color fade for about 2 weeks and colored with 1/2 bottle T14 and whole bottle of 050. I will be using this for along time. Absolutly love the color...not to keen on the smell, but will take the good with the bad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wella 8NA After bleching and stripping my collor to match it to my white roots, my hair felt frail, brassy and freeze. After using this product, the hair magically fot shine, strenght and was definitely less brassy and lighter. It transformed it to healthy looking. I tried some store bought boxes, but my hair looked bad again. I will stick with this product. Highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect!! I chose the medium smokey ash blonde and am so pleased. I was a 7w (caramel) and decided it was a time for a change. The color is true, no red or brassiness. Wella is easy to use and I didn't have any problems (I've use Wella for years),

Rated 4 out of 5 by from first timer Tired of disappointing and expensive results at the salon, I decided I would order a whole bunch of different colours to try at home. I got this product to use as a "toner" and it worked well, I use it on wet and/or dry hair . I am very happy with the results.

When would I use the 40 developer over the 20? Trying to remove the yellow/orange tones to my hair

I went from a dyed brown back to blonde at the salon, and I'm still not happy with the yellow/orange tones to my hair. I've tried T18 toner with 20 developer with little to no change, and then tried the Nordic Blonde permanent hair color with very minor change. Would using a different toner help? I've also considered trying the Frosty Ash hair color.
Asked by: blondealice
I would highly suggest not using 40 volume as it can be very damaging. Your hair must be a very pale blonde (only a slight hint of yellow color) in order to achieve a super light and white blonde. Try leaving the toner on longer with the 20 volume. Check hair often to avoid purple tones.

How to take brownish/black hair to a very light blodish brown

Asked by: Cherokeemoon
You could try hair dye, however, going from that dark to light typically requires bleaching. Wella has a great bleach that you will use with 20 volume developer. From that point, you can use one of Wella's many toners or colors to achieve the color you want.

What is the best color to use on white/gray hair to get more even white?

Asked by: Rose
Using wella t18 toner would be your best bet! It goes on purple but washes out to white. Make sure to keep an eye on your hair though, it can temporarily turn it a light purple.

Why isn't the toner working as good as it used to?

I've had white silver hair for a year now and I just touched up my roots as usual. Bleached them to a very pale blonde like always. Used Wella T18 like always after and it's not as intense as it usually is. There is some pale yellow peaking through in some spots. I then waited a week or so and re toned my hair thinking it would make it more intense and nothing really happened. There's still a little pale yellow peeking through. What would help get rid of the yellow?
Asked by: Amber
There is a little purple packet you can add to the color and it helps remove the yellow / brassy colors. I know because I purchased three of them (along with three toners and three developers) to get my very long hair to the color I wanted.

Please help

What will Wella Cooling Violet 050 do when added to burgundy on natural brown hair? Thanks in advance!!!
Asked by: ChristineB
Hello and thank you for your question. It will drab out some of the red shade. It is not recommended for that color. Now an Avanti Guard type of Hairdresser can play with any additive or drabber. However we don’t recommend trying anything outside of manufacturer’s directions.
