Rated 5 out of 5 by from ALWAYS AMAZING <3 I've been using this product since 2010 and I LOVE IT. Whenever I want to add a pop of color to my head, I just bleach the designated area to the highest level it can go without ruining the elasticity of the hair. Once the bleach is cleaned out, I apply the COLOR JAMZ to the bleached hair and it's perfect. Every time. I wash my hair EVERYDAY, so I let it get to a pastel but am able to dye it as often as I want to and it doesn't damage my hair even more. Oh how I love Color Jams. BTZ used to have a bleach kit. I don't think that is the case anymore but I give the bleach kit 5 stars too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well for some, but not for others. I bought the Huckleberry Blue in October but I just recently used it. I know a lot of people say it doesn't work and just as many claim it does. I bleached my hair to a pale yellow color and dyed it later that night. I left it in for 2 1/2 hours and then washed it out, conditioned it (no shampoo), and did a vinegar rinse. It doesn't bleed unless you shampoo it and hasn't faded at all during the two weeks, unlike other brands I have used. However, your hair needs to be completely white (i.e. bleach it and then tone it) before you use this dye. I thought my hair was light enough but it has green streaks where the hair was more yellow. It still looks cool, but I would definitely recommend toning it before dyeing it. I think the main reason why it works for some people and not for others, is because everyone's hair is different. Some people's hair might soak it up, and other's might reject it. However, if you find it on sale it is cheaper than some other hair dye brands, so it's worth a try because it is the best hair dye I've found.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Affordable & Great! I purchased this a little under a month ago. I bought Wild Red, Raspberry Kamikazie, and Party Time Pink. After mixing the three colors i put it over strawberry blonde hair and left it in for nearly two hours. The color pay off was amazing! It was a very right red and since my last two washes it's fading into a very nice magenta-red! The dye did not stain my skin or my bathroom. Very nice dye compared to ION brights or punky colors!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use and smells great I've been using the raspberry kamikaze and I love the color! It was easy to use. It did stain my sink so make sure you prep your area well and use glove and shower cap. I left it in for 1 hour and I did not dilute it and I got two uses out of the bottle. It does fade a 1/2 a level each wash so dry shampoo is your friend. I wash often and I get a degree of fade but I recolor every Saturday since it's so cheap to purchase and I get two uses out of each bottle I love it. Thinking of trying the purple next! Also the pic I posted is the first time I did's gotten a bit darker over each time I've used it

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't match display I bought two different colors in this, Purple Passion and Not so shy violet. Bought mine in store, not online, and neither of the colors are ANYWHERE close to the displayed colors. My hair was a medium blond prior to dye, and was looking for very dark Purple-- Its a BRIGHT magenta. The not so shy is a dark grey / purple mess. It's displayed as a dark blue. Will not purchase this again, I guess if you're looking for a bright colors, it works, but I was looking for what was displayed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible After they changed the formula to the one now it's the most horrid dye I've used. It used to be my favorite and now it washes out when I wash the dye out, and isn't the color it's supposed to be. The purple turned a gross orange pink color, and the blue doesn't work at all! They put way too much conditioner in the new formula, it's awful. Im so dissapoiunted

Is this non toxic,i am using on a dog?

Asked by: Laura meyer
It contains no paraphenylenediamine (PPD used in permanent hair color,) ammonia, or lightener of any kind. It simply deposits color and conditioner, much like Manic Panic. The color itself is mostly safe to use in small amounts, though food coloring is the optimal choice. As a veterinary assistant, I advise you that, firstly, it would be incredibly inhumane to use this on or remotely near your pet's face. Secondly, use a brush to paint it on, and finally, exercise extreme caution to not allow any of the color to, in any way, touch your pet's skin. Do not leave it on any longer than recommended with the instructions.

do you use a developer with this color and if so which one?

Asked by: Winter K
You might want to try a patch test first. I had a friend who insisted on me using some of my 20 volume developer on her hair. The results sucked big time. What was supposed to be raspberry kamikaze ended up a blueish green color, and not the pretty blueish green color. Everyone's hair is different so everyone gets different results. I prefer to lighten or use a hair color remover first, but that's what has always worked for me.

I'm a little confused. Do I apply this to clean damp hair? Or dry hair?

Asked by: Nicole 77
It can be applied to both. I've been using this brand since 2014 and I've learned it works better on dirty dry hair. Also the bottle says 45 mins. I leave mine on 5 hrs. My hair is super healthy and I've never had a problem with it. Also I have massively vibrant color the longer I leave it on.

What will happen if I apply it to my scalp??? I have difficulty dying all of my hair without getting hair dye on my scalp. In the directions, it says not to use it on your scalp, but I was wondering if it would do any harm.

Asked by: Angel098
It will just dye it

Hello I'm just wondering if I need to bleach my hair for this product? I have dark hair and not wanting to bleach it, if you think it will show what colour out of the color jams would show best? -Makenna

Asked by: Makenna pink
It's not absolutely necessary to bleach first but that is the best way to achieve the truest shade and vibrancy of the colour. You can apply to dark hair but it will merely tint hair, showing mostly in daylight or bright lighting. Good luck!
