Aphogee Two Step Protein Treatment is a unique treatment formulated with magnesium and modified proteins which fuse into the hair with the application of heat. The result is that breakage is drastically reduced. ApHogee Two-Step Protein Treatment is a salon service product unlike any product available for at-home use. During the process, ApHogee treatment hardens into the hair, dramatic evidence that something special is occurring.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Shine and softness is back! I purchased this from Sally's and tried it last night. I will start off by saying I have medium length fine wavy hair that has been heavily damaged over the years through use of color, bleach, and heat. Lately it has been shedding significantly in the shower (I contribute some of this to the fact it is winter and my hair usually sheds a bit more during the winter), the ends are dry and damaged, and the shine is gone. Tried this last night (I didn't use a blow dryer because I have sworn off heat for 2 weeks now and plan to do so for a long time) and the smell wasn't too bad at all. I wasn't too crazy about the consistency of the treatment - it is very liquid and dripped quite a bit (it would be better if it were a cream-based product). Besides that, I washed it out of my hair and used the second step moisturizer that comes with it and let that sit for about 5 minutes as well as the Macadamia Nut Deep Repair Masque. In the shower my hair didn't feel very silky and slippery (like it would with a product loaded with silicones) so initially I didn't think it worked. I got out of the shower, did my normal LOC/curly girl method routine and air dried my hair and it came out looking AMAZING. 99% frizz gone, shiny, and soft to the touch with great movement. I will definitely purchase again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Life Saver I bleach my hair a lot but over the last 2-3 months I had kept it dark red and black because of work. I thought it had recovered but I was so wrong. I recently decided to go pink and used 3vol for 30 min and Almost ruined my hair. I have a jaw length bob and the bangs and back are more virgin than the top. The top layer was snapping off at the last inch, just running my fingers through, mushy and dead. I had a slight panic attack because I am NOT going back to a pixie. I had tried this before and broke down and got a big bottle. I basically dipped my ends in and let it soak up as much as they could, then I left it on for a hour. I don't have a blow dryer so I turned my oven on high and hung out in the kitchen. My ends are sill fragile but at least they aren't snapping off in clumps. I will have to treat it again next week and be very careful but for now I am safe. Won't be able to bleach my hair again though. :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is AMAZING!! This was recommended to me by my stylist as an alternative to the pricey PH bond service in the salon. She actually said she preferred it to the more expensive reconstructing treatments. I am SO glad I took her advice and tried it. My hair is extremely fried from overbleaching and heat styling and after using this it is silky, shiny and so much healthier feeling and looking. I just bought a ton more so I never run out. This stuff is amazing!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from it works! I have been using this stuff off and on for a few years now. I color my hair every few months and the water here is hard. I also use sulfate free shampoos and conditioners which will help keep your color. I use this treatment every 2-3 months just to prevent breakage and to seal my hair and it always looks so nice after I use Aphogee. I've heard you can damage your hair by using this stuff too often so only use it every 2-3 months. A blow dryer can be used to harden the product, hold it to your hair for about 15-20 minutes, not a big deal. A bottle will last for a year so this is a good value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved my hair I went on a hair adventure this past summer. Decided my natural black hair needed to be every color of the rainbow. I went through a 6 month bleach and dye routine that completely destroyed my hair. It was dry beyond repair, breaking off in chucks and dull. It went from bra strap to chin length because I had to cut off so much had damage. Finally has enough and decided to go back to a natural color and picked this up while at Sally’s. I have used it in the past but never with hair this damaged. Immediately after using this, my hair felt amazing. I waited a few days and did another treatment, just because my hair is that damaged and now I’m almost back to they way my hair felt before I took it on the color journey. I cannot say enough good things about this. I only wish I had thought to use this before cutting off my hair. I’ll be using this once a month from now on to maintain my hairs health. Never going without this again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprisingly great! I am a minimalist and a skeptic when it comes to beauty products in general because there is a lot of hype around costly products that make big promises and deliver marginal results. I had been dying my grey roots a very dark brown to match my dark hair for years and finally decided that I was loosing the battle against the greys. 3 blond highlight sessions in 2 months later and I had very dry, delicate hair. A Sally's employee immediately recommended this product when I told her I needed to save my hair and after reading the great reviews, I was hopeful but still a skeptic. I used a spray bottle to distribute the protein pack to my hair and followed the directions. The results? My hair feels stronger and more like hair instead of straw when dry or mush when wet. No it's not like silk, I still don't look like Jennifer Aniston; but I believe this stuff just saved my hair from ending up on the floor of the salon!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Salon fried my hair/curls - this saved it In July a salon ruined my long curly hair. I wanted highlights but my entire hair was instead turned a green blonde. Totally fried. I cried and was about to cut off all my hair. Six inches minimum. I found this product in August and my curls came back a bit. I applied it again this month and my hair is back to normal. You dont was limp, no curl, dry, and just so sad. Now it is better than it was before the salon ruined it. This is magic!

I have relaxed hair and coarse hair, gets very dry and breaks really, really bad. I do use a semi-rinse to cover my grey.will the treatment stop my breakage?

Asked by: Annie Croswell
It should because its a protein treatment and protein is strength. So protein for strength/breakage part and moisture for the dry part

Does the moisturizer come with it

Asked by: Lexi0913
No, unless you buy the pack that has both in it. Otherwise, you have to buy the moisturizer separately.

My hair is very long and dry. I bought the two step treatment and moisture balancer. How often should I do this in the beginning. At least till my hair feels better

Asked by: Lshivers
The two step treatment is a very strong protein and shouldn't  be use too often. I use the two step ever 6-8 weeks sometime longer depending on what my hair needs. I only use it when my hair seems to be shedding more than normal or very weak from moisture overload. Sounds like you need a deep conditioner hair mask to restore moisture. Good luck!

If your hair was curly and through the years of heat and bleach damage now its straight does this work for bring it back to your natural curly hair?

Asked by: Veronica2713
I came to look at the product based on a testimonial in a 'curly girl' video on youtube, saying that using this product brought back her natural curl pattern to a patch that was straight. That is what I am getting it for!

Probably a silly question but if you do not have a hooded dryer can you just sit outside in the sun to get the necessary heat for processing? I can't imagine standing there holding a blow dryer to my hair for 30 minutes straight. Thanks!

Asked by: Steelebob
What if you live in Arizona and the temperate is 117 outside? lol just a little humor sorry. I plan on bleaching+toning my hair this afternoon and bought this for after . I was considering sitting outside too ( it really is 117 out).

After using this product do you also put on the conditioner or just the Balance Moisturizer, hair dry and style?

Asked by: honeyboo74
After rinsing the protein treatment, apply the Balancing Moisturizer.  Rinse and then dry and style your hair normally.  Treatment is good for about 4 to 6 weeks.  No added benefit to doing more frequently than that.  A Weekly Masque Treatment is good for in-between protein treatments.
