Rated 1 out of 5 by from Avoid this if you want to keep your skin! I bought this because it was part of a special that Sally’s is running with the Gigi warmer. I bought it thinking that it would work just as well as the hard wax I use at work. Boy was I wrong...even when I melted it completely and set the warmer to the lowest setting to use, it still didn’t pull off as cleanly and smoothly as the hard wax I’m used to using. I used it on my armpits and it really pulled my skin. I’ve been doing my own waxing for three years so it’s not a fault of my own that this product didn’t work for me. *PROS: I got it cheaper since it was part of a deal that’s Sally’s was having *CONS: It doesn’t pull off as easily as other hard waxes do and it tugs really harshly on your skin. ** BEWARE ** Do NOT use this product on paying customers in a salon.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works!! Trick to this wax is to apply the skin cleanser first, Gigi has one but I use the Suddenly Smooth Skin Preparation Cleanser, then apply a bit of Gigi Pre Epilation Oil on skin before applying wax. I didn't think it would help because I expected the oil to get in the way of good hair adherence to wax, but lo and behold it works so well! The oil allows removal of wax before it completely hardens, which if you don't use the oil before the wax it will break into pieces when you pull it off, if you let it harden too much. But removing the wax while it is still pliable or soft is also impossible without the oil first because it is too tacky and sticks to skin, it won't come off smoothly, it resembles warm sticky taffy. So enter oil and now you can get a smooth removal of wax from skin, all hair comes off, and it all comes off in one piece. Also applying oil before allows cleaning left over residue to be easier.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stay away I wanted to save money and do my wax at home. This one was horrible. Never did any of my waxes feel this painful. The wax stays more in the soft wet side which is very difficult and painful to remove. If you wait longer to have the wax harden it is brittle and the process to remove the wax is tedious.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not impressed This was the first brand and time I have bought wax. During the first time of use I had no idea what I was doing so I didn't expect much. As I used it again and nothing had gotten better I thought it was time to give this a review. It is absolutely horrible. The wax doesn't get hard. It a more soft hard which I do not feel is right. It being this way causes a lot more pain when trying to even get it off. It doesn't come off in whole but in pieces. It takes forever to even get to a soft hard consistency on your skin. When even you put in in the wax warmer it takes an hour to even get ready. I think it's actually the worst thing you can buy. I spent almost 100 bucks on this and wish I could take it back.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible Wax I have tried other waxes before but decided to opt out for trying this one and had an awful experience. You typically have to wait for hard wax to dry and with this wax it's either too wet or too dry, either way making the removal painful and a hassle. Once its too dry it becomes very brittle and starts chipping making removal take twice as long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wax of choice!! I decided before summer this year I was going to try waxing underarms and bikini area. Wax was buy one get one so I tried this and the milk and honey with strips. This was so much easier!! I followed the directions for each one and the strips just weren't taking anything off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easiest Waxing Ever I've been using this wax for forever now and it's wonderful. It makes waxing so easy. There are a lot of reviews on here of people saying that it flakes off, but if you use it properly, this won't happen (it usually happens on my legs because I use such a thin coat and/or leave it on too long. IDK if my legs are colder than the rest of me or what), and it will definitely be difficult to pull (or chip! lol) off if you allow this to happen. Anyway, if you know what you're doing, this wax is a dream come true and makes hair removal worth the time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your time or money This product does NOT work! It is flaky even if you apply a thick coat.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money This has been the wors hard wax I have ever worked with. I even played with the temperatures on my wax warmer to see which consistency was the one that worked but it never did. It would never get hard like a hard wax should and never came off in a whole piece I had to go back and try to remove patches that stayed behind, save yourself the trouble and mess

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome stuff I have been using this wax for years now and I will never use anything else. There are a lot of bad reviews and I want to say I had the same experience the first two times I used it. I was going to give up on the product but then I learned how to use it correctly. yey! There is a pre-oil that you need to put on before the wax. It is the oil sold by the same brand. That is the key to being successful with this wax. Good luck!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Save your money! I bought this product giving it a chance and I should have saved my money. The wax hardened very quickly after being microwaved. After the wax was applied to my skin it didn't want to come off! It was very painful and a complete waste of time, energy, skin, and money! Never again!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WORST WAX EVER if i could give 0 stars I would. This is the hardest wax to get off. It comes off in pieces, and is extremely painful to remove. Very difficult to grip. I have tried everything to make this wax easier to come off, nothing has worked.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Consistency is Key!!! This was is awesome! However you need to get the right thickened of layering or else it doesn't work well. Start on something easy like your legs or arm for practice before you brave doing your own Brazilian!!! Works on thin and course hair!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from AWEFUL! DO NOT USE! This wax takes a bit to set, but if you go to do another strip while that one sets it become brittle and breaks, which causes more pain.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible Wax This product does not come off easily at all. It breaks off in pieces and I was basically scraping it off every inch of the strip. I tried it with different temperatures and different thickness of the strips and nothing helped.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best hard wax I've used I do my own waxing at home, and for the longest time I was buying the Brazilian microwave hard wax by Gigi. I got sick of his messy it was and the fact that I had to buy a new one almost every time because of how it dried, and then I decided to buy my own warmer and this wax. It's not green like the microwave one, which initially made me check the label, but it's definitely a better product. It goes on easily, dries quickly, and flicks so much easier than the microwave wax. I've got a long time until I have to repurchase, but when the time comes, I'll buy this wax without question!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hmm... I have waxed for years, but never used hard wax. That being said I did actually have it done at a salon so I knew the idea of how to do it. I did everything normal and no matter how thick I tried to put it, it dried before I could pull it off and just cracked. I made several attempts at it with no good results. The jar I got was also very full so when I moved the wax warmer it spilled everywhere so now I have to clean my warmer. I tried it on my legs first thank god. Anyway, I've read about several salons using regular wax to do bikinis so since I'm experienced with that type I will be doing it that way instead. It also didn't seem any less painful like they claim hard wax is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product! This is the first hard wax I have used at home, and it worked great. It grabs the hair best and pulls off easiest in one chunk when applied thicker, and I had to leave it at a cooler temperature to get the right consistancy. It worked okay at a thinner consistancy while using it on finer hair, but it should be ripped off sooner as it hardens faster when applied thin. If you let it harden too much it gets difficult to pull off in one piece. It removed all the hairs, even course ones, and the wax cleaned up easily. I just chipped it off the countertop when it was cool and hard. Its a great hard wax; I will not use so many strips in the future!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do Not Use Being a professional esthetician I have use numerous amounts of wax on clients, and love using hard wax for the brazilian waxing(s). It's easy to use, and cannot pull skin off. Anyways, THANKFULLY I tested this out on myself for personal use, and was only able to find this kind of hard wax that was close by; I went to pull after it felt hard like any other WORKING hard wax I've used, and it was stuck, half hard, half still soft. It hurt so bad. I am so glad I was not using this stuff on a client. If you are a professional or a beauty everything lover, use depileve wax.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works! I have used different waxes and this one is the best so far. It takes a a little practice to get accustomed to its ways but once you get to know the wax, it works great. It is kind of hard to get off surfaces but I found using the end of tweezers to scrape (not the tweezer part) after it has completely cooled removed the wax from floors and sink area. I have used it on my underarms, arms, legs and bikini and have not had any problems. For those having problems make sure you use a pre oil first. I forgot to apply oil one time and noticed a difference in removing the strip. I am not a professional but have mastered MY OWN technique while using this wax and it works. It removed 99% of my hair, I have to tweeze a couple here and there. It also leaves me feeling smooth.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This is Horrible! If You want to wax yourself please buy the Gigi All purpose Honey and the strips to do it. Unless if you want to stress yourself you can buy this product. I´m Brazilian and this "Brazilian Body Hard Wax" is horrible. That makes to much messy, take too long to do a small area, leaves wax on you (and it´s hard to take off) and don´t get the work totally done. I use to wax myself for a long time with the All purpose Honey and I tried this one and I hate!!!! Unfortunately I had to threw in the trash!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good, painful though This will get the job done, if you use it properly and the hair is long enough. Hair definitely NEEDS to be at least 1/4 inch for this to grip, and the trick to this grabbing every hair is to let it cool about 20-30 seconds, and to pull SLOWLY and evenly. This isnt like pulling a traditional strip, you can't just rip. Its also not a very soothing wax, and it pretty painful.. especially in more *intimate* areas. Kind of makes you dread giving yourself a brazilian. but this wax DOES work.
Date published: 2010-12-02
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The trick is to pull it off about 20 seconds after applying it... otherwise the wax comes off in broken pieces.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from "GOOD" Product for "some"..... I've been using this wax for years, works well on "me", but not on my wife, lol. Really these reviews DON'T work for this kind of product as it's like asking does a certain flavor of chewing gum tastes good.....it doesn't work because EVERYone is different. One MAY love it and another hates it. It's a "personal" thing....my best advise is use it once and see.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from removes hair nicely i have very stubborn hair and this did the trick nicely! i thought because it is made for the coarser hair that it might be more painful as it is removed but not the case. the only down fall is that it is harder to remove the "extra" wax wherever it may land.
Date published: 2010-01-17
Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's... "ok" Maybe it's my own fault for expecting magic. So I decided it might be more economical to start using brazilan hard wax instead of using regular wax AND buying strips. I used it under my arms, but it didnt grip the little hairs. I could still feel a light fuzz after the wax, which didn't happen with the dark honee wax. Then I figured that maybe it was best used on my nether regions, but that went left. Bottom line, it flaked upon cooling and didn't do as well as I'd hoped. Boo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product This beats paying to have a bikini wax done. If you follow the instructions and have patience this wax works great and is less painful than the salon waxes. I recommend using the muslin strips with it, it is easier to get a grip and pull the wax off.

This wax comes in a metal can so it can not be heated in a microwave. It is designed to be used in the gigi wax warmer.

So for bikini line waxing with the Gigi hard wax, you don't need the wax cloths to pull wax off? You can just pull the wax off without anything. Making sure I am reading up on this correctly.

Hi! Hard wax does not require strips, soft wax does. You just grab and yank this stuff!

Since the package is metal, I would highly suggest you do NOT use this in the microwave. Sally's does sell a version of this made for the microwave -- with a plastic container.
