Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed After reading the reviews, I really thought this wax would be a good buy, but it wasn't. I've been waxing for years and thought I'd try this - I liked the idea of no muslin strips. The pre-epilation oil that comes with it is great, not too greasy and really does make the wax stick only to the hair. But the wax was awful. I followed the heating chart, but for some reason, the top remained hard after one minute. I finally pushed the stick through and had to work at mixing it together and heating for almost five minutes. It was successful at removing hair, but peeling up one end was a little painful with the hair underneath. I followed the directions, but even when doing small strips, the strip would kind of break and I'd have to peel up the rest, which took forever. Most hard waxes that I've used have a bit more flexibility. This one kind of became brittle and crumbled like candle wax - even after I had just spread it on! I'm bummed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work anymore I don't now if I received a bad batch or what happened. I've been using this for years, and now the boxes I bought absolutely will not harden. Therefore, this product will not pull out hair. Makes a big mess that is almost impossible to get off. So mad that I'm stuck with 3 of these!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Painful! This was scary painful and it did not fully remove all hair. But I used it on my arms and it worked perfectly, little pain, and clean and smooth results. Just not good on bikini area.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! I have been getting Brazilians for about 10 years now. I recently started doing them myself in between getting them done at the salon. After reading reviews on this site I tried this product and am hooked. The pre-epilation oil keeps the wax from sticking to your skin but it still sticks to the hair making it almost painless. I can do my own Brazilians now saving hundreds of dollars a year with amazing results. I think the results are even better than the salon and I don't have to go through all the pain. Gooey honey wax was a drippy mess and always left sticky spots behind. This wax is not messy and if any is left on your skin, which is rare, you can easily scrape it off. I am telling all my friends about this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Changed my Life! I couldn't ask for a better result. I've NEVER waxed before, but it was time. I'm sick of shaving, only to have stubble a day later. This product worked great, it was easy, I am smooth as can be, no stubble! My advice: get your hair very short, if it's too long it gets in the wax by mistake. Work in very small sections, and ALWAYS start your wax in a bare area so you can get the edge peeled back pain free. I used popsicle sticks for more precise control.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use Surgi-Wax is super easy to use, this was my first time ever using wax and I will definitely will continue to use it. I also used the clean + easy Pre-wax Antiseptic Cleanser which I really believed help with the pain. For my first time I have to say it worked better than I expected. Other reviews say it was messy but for me it wasn't I just made sure to work in small areas at a time and it also seemed less painful that way. It's been 4 days and no sign of hair back yet. I think is amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gets the Job Done And the price is right. I actually used this on my legs also, which took forever, but the results were good with minimal irritation. I have very sensitive skin and that's why I wanted to try waxing instead of shaving. Since I'm new to waxing my bikini area, there was definitely some pain, but I never had to repeat an area and a weeks later it still looks and feels like I did it yesterday. I will definitely make this a regular purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I have never waxed before just shaved in that region. I decided to try waxing since I get razor burn a couple days after shaving and it looks gross. I just did this yesterday and it worked really good! The real test now is to see how long it lasts. Even if it lasts a couple of weeks it's still pretty cheap and more comfortable then razor burn. I didn't think that it hurt at all. It's a little uncomfortable but wouldn't stop me from doing it again. Was a little messy though make sure to have a towel on the ground.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from second times the charm The first time (first time ever bikini waxing) I tried using this product I didnt use waxing strips. I couldn't do more than about a 3 inch spot on my bikini area because it was so painful. The second time using the strips cut the amount of pain in half. The wax didn't over heat and smelled quite pleasant. Also, wax the week after your period. You will be less sensitive.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like it !!!!!! I like it a lot, I use it on my underarm, legs, eyebrows, upper lip and its great, I tried on the bikini area but it hurts so much that I didn't finish, but a friend told me that before wax to take an ibuprophen, so I will try it and I hope that work, because Im tired of shaving.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OUCH! If you are going to use this product, be prepared to get messy. I found that after microwaving the wax, it hardened up pretty quickly. The smell and application were pleasant, however it was extremely painful to remove. I'm no stranger to being waxed, but I much prefer the muslin strip method. With this wax you have to work the dried wax up and the corners (which hurts alot) and then pull. It did work, but then I had REAL TROUBLE trying to remove the reminants of the little pieces of wax from my skin for days. I think that there are better prodects out there.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ok I liked that it didn't require strips, but pulling up an edge to get ahold of it hurt worse then pulling the whole strip off. Tried it on my legs first. Worked better then the microwave Hemp wax, didn't hurt quite as bad. Still haven't tried it on bikini area but it worked well on my stomach

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First time ever waxing! I was afraid to do a full on Brazilian wax, but after reading the reviews I decided to give it a try. You can't beat the price, so I figured I had nothing to lose. I have been waxing my upper lip and chin and eyebrows for years so I was pretty familiar with using wax. This is definitely a wax I will be using again! It was really easy to use and it never overheated or got too runny. You have to let it sit for just the right amount of time after applying it, or it will stick too much. Once you get that part down it's pretty easy. Also make sure your hair is relatively short before starting, mine was and that really seemed to help(and it will make it less painful) I used the oil on the entire area, just a small amount and it worked great. I recommend using azulene oil for afterwards to remove any wax residue(although this wax didn't leave much at all) and it soothes the area. As for the pain factor, everyone is different and for me it wasn't all that bad. The lower you go, the more it hurts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No Pain, No Gain. I used this product for my first time getting a bikini wax. On the level of pain, I'd give it a 9.5 out of 10! I couldn't even finish because it hurt so bad lol...But, it does remove the hair! Much easier if someone else did it for you, or had muslin strips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprisingly Good My first and only attempt at waxing at home prior to trying this product was horrific, and it put me off the idea for years. Tried this because I wanted to do something special for a boyfriend.... LOVED it. For this area of the body waxing beats shaving hands down. Its actually is more painful, in my experience, to shave than to wax with this product as I always get razor burn the day after shaving the bikini area...and stubble, which hurts more to re-shave. This left me baby-butt smooth and lasted over a week before any sign of regrowth Great product. some tips: OMG do not apply the wax too thick or let it get hard, I made this mistake in the area that is already hardest to wax. Not comfy. Also that oil is fantastic...dont skimp on application of it. You'll feel it if you do. Otherwise there is very minimal pain with this product and its pretty easy to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I will never use anything else I love this stuff... It is the best and easiest way to remove hair.. It is so easy to use, does not make a mess and you can use it for everything. With the oil it does not stick to your skin.. I swear by this stuff and I have been using it for five years now and would not know what to do without it.. I use it on my bikini area, my eye brows, underarms, and legs..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Takes the ouch out of waxing The Surgi Wax Brazilian Waxing Kit is a must have. It is super easy to use, not messy, and the oil that comes with it makes the wax stick to hair only, not skin, so it really takes the pain out of waxing. I've been using it for a few years and it works great!

I bought the leg and body surgi wax by mistake, the ingredients appear identical, only difference is the brazilian comes with the oil. Is that the only difference? Can I use the leg and body one in place of the brazilian one?

Asked by: Paula416
Yes Paula, you can. The brazilian wax is just a milder, creamier formula.  I actually use it for any part of my body I wish, and do not use the oil at all. :) Hope this helps.

is this product microwave safe?

im a male and looking to do my own personal cleaning but before i commit to buying the wax warmer i want to try something easier. i heard that this hard wax is great for coarse hair and i do not like honey to messy.
Asked by: boniek
This is heated in the microwave, which makes it convenient, though it is messy. Honestly, I would go for the strips of hard wax (they're not on muslin, but a similar fabric). It removes the hair much faster and with less pain. The great thing is that the hard wax kits are cheap enough to try and see if you like it and if it doesn't work like you want, you can opt for the warmer (I have one, got sick of the strips and tried this hard wax...going right back to my warmer!).
