Rated 4 out of 5 by from I love the big bottle This is an excellent all-purpose witch hazel solution. It's a great alternative to witch hazel "pads" (post-partum), because you get a lot more liquid in this bottle. Plus, drugstore witch hazel pads contain 50% witch hazel and Beyond Belief contains 86% witch hazel; (for reference see DailyMed). Ever since I was a little girl I've used witch hazel for sore muscles, dry flaky skin, pierced ear holes, abrasions, and chapped hands. As I get older it is still one of the most effective products for keeping my pores clean, warding off blemishes, and softening my skin. Beyond Belief witch hazel also contains some denatured alcohol (ethanol), in a very low amount, which is good if your skin is resilient like mine. I have the kind of skin that does really well with alcohol to because alcohol is one of the few ingredients that can transport active ingredients across the skin barrier. There's not much point in using a toner if its ingredients; witch hazel, AHAs, BHAs, Glycolic Acid, etc.can't get into the skin so it can work. You may as well apply sticky perfune. This brings me to my one complaint about this product. It really smells like perfume...it doesn't have that clean "witch hazely" scent. I don't mind fragrance, but this happens to have a scent I just don't like.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm another person with sensitive skin and this works wonderfully. It's probably my favourite product. I used to have a lot of uneven redness on my cheeks, blackheads on my nose, and generally congested pores on my chin; I bought this back in August or September and have been using it twice a day, and my skin has been clearing up so nicely since then. The only other product that worked was Bioelements and that's just too expensive to maintain. This comes in a nice, large bottle; it's very reasonably priced; I can pop around the corner and buy it, instead of having to go to a spa or purchase it online; oh, and it works. I'm actually starting to get clearer, calmer, skin, that I can go out with without having to cover it up. I'm very satisfied with this product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Is a first-aid product No really, on the back the label indicates that it's to be used for minor cuts and scrapes. This product contains 14% alcohol, which seems to be an inevitable byproduct of the witch hazel extraction process. The alcohol is pretty bad for your skin. Yes, it will absorb oil, but it will absorb all oil and cause your skin to flake into the pore, causing even more breakouts. Don't like the alcohol? Well, my friends, alcohol evaporates!!! So I left it out in the widest, shallowest pan that I had and evaporated about 2 oz of something out of the 16 oz bottle. I used an electric fan to help with this. Do NOT try to cook the alcohol out. That actually does not work, and you may possibly alter the witch hazel in the process. I'm not using this is a toner, but I do plan to use it as an in-between-shampoo hair cleaner. I've stopped using toners altogether. I always thought that they were indispensable for oily skin, but they strip more oil than necessary. I've stopped for a couple months and never looked back. A proper cleanser/treatment/moisturizer combination should keep your oil in check. So save this for your cuts and scrapes, or possibly your hair when you don't want to wash it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MUST BUY i got this and mixed it with some tea tree oil and WOW does it work good. If you put about 20-30 drops in it will work wonderfully on your face. One down fall is the smell it smells alittle like glue but on the upside it doesnt leave your face dry and tight expecially if you put the tea tree oil in it. That mixture can also be put on cut to help them heal fast. This product is a MUST buy!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product! I apply a little witch hazel after I use my scrub every night and I love it! You get a huge bottle so it's a great value for the price. It's gentle on the skin, helps clear up breakouts, and doesn't over-dry. Definitely will be purchasing again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reviewed! Love this product it really penetrates deep into the pours and picks up all the left over dirt! I always use this after using my ABH Beyond Belief products. I feel so refreshed and cleansed afterwards :) I did a review on these products on my youtube channel - http://www.youtube.com/user/jvalx3

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for adult acne! This witch hazel is excellent. It's very soothing and calming to my sensitive, acne-prone skin. I add about 30 or so (I don't have an exact system) drops of pure tea tree oil to this and shake it up. It's a wonderful night-time tonic for adult acne. The key is getting the right proportion. If the smell of the tea tree oil is overpowering when you open the bottle, you've put too much in. Just add a little bit at a time until you feel like you've struck the right balance. I'm telling you, it's completely changed my life. Using this combination is the only thing had been able to cure my adult acne. My skin is so, so sensitive that traditional acne creams destroy it, leaving me dry, red, and inflamed. Added bonus: you can use this mixture for cuts and scrapes as well. Witch hazel and tea tree are excellent, natural skin healers. The bottle is so generous, it lasts me at least 3 months of twice daily use. I love Sally's!
