What is it?

Mielle Organics Babassu Oil and Mint Deep Conditioner the Babassu oil is derived from a native Amazonian palm fruit that is high in sterols and tocopherols which are healthy for the hair and scalp. This deep conditioner is enriched with fatty acids that provide a rich softness to the hair while natural oils and Cetearyl Alcohol helps reduce frizz and fly-aways. Mielle Organics deep conditioner is filled with two complex amino acids from wheat, soy and other natural sources that actually mimic the function of hair amino acids helping to restore the function and moisture to damaged and dry hair.

After shampooing apply to clean damp hair, let sit for 15 minutes for an intense treatment, if you wish to use heat 30 minutes under the dryer is desirable. Made with certified organic ingredients and high quality oils. No harmful chemicals or preservatives

Whenever I use it he can’t keep his head out of my hair. The small is amazing and long lasting. I recently used it before heat styling and my results were the best I’ve ever had in years of being natural. My hair was straighter, less frizzy, and lasted much longer (about a month) than normal. This a holy grail for me and I make sure to always have some in my stash. I usually stock up when there’s a sale but I would pay full price for this deep conditioner, it’s that good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Deep Conditioner This brought my dry hair back to life. I never deep conditioned my hair and I noticed my hair becoming very dry, limp and losing its curl pattern. I realized I was using excessive moisture but no protein, and you need a good balance of both to have healthy hair. I used this on my low porosity 3A/3B hair for 15 minutes and the results were amazing. My hair was soft, shiny and defined. My hair hasn't looked this good since I was young. I plan to use this once or twice a month to keep the moisture-protein balance. The only thing I dislike about this product is the smell. The smell is very, very strong and lingers for days. It smells like mint lemon green tea, and I am not a fan. The smell does die down to a lemon scent, which I don't mind. But the smell is very overpowering so I have to apply a conditioner after washing this out just to mask the smell.

No. You should wash it out. I do know some that leave it in, but it should be washed out.

is this product good for permed hair?

Yes it is. It says good for all hair types on the container. I use it on my natural hair as well as my two daughters who are also naturals. I told my mom about it and she has a perm but this is the conditioner she buys now. I also told my sister about it who is a natural and she uses it. We all love the deep conditioner! Try it for yourself and hopefully you will like it as much as we all do. I hope my review helps.

Is this the same type of protein treatment as Aphogee Two Step Protein Treatment and Moisturizer?

In my opinion it's nothing like Aphogee. As it doesn't stiffen your hair at all. My hair felt super moisturized after using it. I've only used once but one YouTube video suggested you might only want to use once a month (or every two weeks) if your hair is protein sensitive. Hope that helps!
