Rated 4 out of 5 by from Use on platinum blonde, mix with a lot of color There was plenty for my whole head, mixed with a scoop of the purple haze. I have long hair and it is very thick! But as the product states, it works best with platinum blonde hair. I did go out in the sun the next day and it did fade instantly. I mixed this whole container with one scoop of purple haze, the mixture looked very bright but it was not as bright as it looked. Next time I would mix more in purple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Takes Dark and Turn to Light I mixed left over blue and pink and it came out a super dark plum. I wanted it much lighter. Pastel-izer to the rescue. My only complaint is that it doesn't come in a larger size. I used all of it but really need more; yes, the plum is that dark.I am going to add another 1 or 2 to my wishlist.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not what I expected The instructions say to use all of this with just a few drops of the color you want to pastelizer but in fact, it's the opposite. Granted, I was going from a golden color to what I thought would be a paler New Rose but when I combined the two, the first strand that I dyed didn't take after an hour. Then I added more of the New Rose & continued to dye the rest of my hair. I don't know what color my hair is now, it still has the gold undertones & I see some of the red, maybe even a few strips of pink but I wish I would've just added a few drops of the pastelizer to the regular color. Maybe it would be redder/pink? Anyway, my advice from this experience is to use more color - less pastelizer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So versatile! Great for adjusting the intensity of more saturated colors. Made lavender out of violet night and also a grape shade by varying the amount of pigment added to a full jar of pastel-izer.

Does this remove blue dye color

Asked by: Melanieann
Hi Melanie! Our Pastel-izer is not a color remover, it mixes with our dyes for a lighter pigment to create pastel shades. We recommend using the following products to gradually remove hair color from the hair: - Wash hair with PREPARE TO DYE CLARIFYING SHAMPOO - Hot Oil treatments - Alcohol-based hair products such as hairspray, gel, or mousse - -Washing hair with shampoos that contain sulfates such as Anti-Dandruff, Clarifying, Deep Cleansing or All Purpose. - Exposure to water and sunlight - Sprinkle a teaspoon of baking soda into your shampoo, gently kneading into your hair, then rinse with warm water. Can I use this product with another brand of hair dye ?

Asked by: Lizzzzzzzz
Great Questions! Our pastelizer is formulated to work best with Manic Panic dyes. You can do a test with another dye if you choose, to see how the outcome would look on your hair we recommend doing a strand test being using all over. For any more questions or tips contact us anytime via email

How long does this last in comparison to other manic panic colours?

I only use it to help keep the yellow out of my gray hair.   I have not used the colors so I can not compare them.

What proportion of the mixer should I use in the dye to create a pastel or lavender color using the purple hair dye?

Several reviews said the colors were somewhat lighter but couldn't get them to be pastel.
Asked by: Cindy
In all honesty, just use a white colored conditioner. Its cheaper and theres a lot more when you buy it
