Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good pins These hairpins are perfect for my hair which is not terribly thick or heavy, but sometimes slippery. My hair is now just below shoulder length and has been waist length in the past, and I can put it up on top of my head using about 4 of these pins if not too long, probably 6 if very long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Where have you been all my life??!!! OMG, these are great! I don't know how I have lived this long without this product. It holds perfectly and when used correctly will last a long, long time. I'm thrilled with these hairpins. Usually hairpins of any kind will fall out of my hair within a few hours and it's a whole day of tucking and retucking them back into the hairdo. Not with these. Just put them in and that's all. I even slept with my hair in a bun and it was still perfect will all the pins in place when I woke up. GREAT PRODUCT!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Hairpin I love these. They are the perfect hair pin for up-swept hair and holding long braid styles up. They will hold hair in a bun without a ponytail holder. Love them!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Goody hairpins In general, I like the hairpins. Several years ago, you used to be able to buy these hairpins in store but now you can only find them online. Back the day the hairpins were sturdy now they break very easily, so the availability and quality is very poor on comparison to earlier years.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Design? Fantastic! Durability? Terrible! I bought these just over a month ago. When they stay in one piece they're great. They keep my hair up in a bun better than anything else I've tried, and they're perfectly comfortable. The problem is they have a bunch of bubbles inside. These create weak points where they break when I try to put them in, no matter how gentle I try to be with them. Maybe if you have lighter/finer hair you can get more use out of them, but my long, thick heavy hair killed 8 of the 10 within a month. It's a shame. If they took more care in the manufacturing process, I'd bet these would be perfect. As they are now, though, I won't be buying them again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for All Hair Types I have medium to thick hair and these work amazingly for me. Would they have more durability if they were metal? Yeah, but they're also more gentle because they're plastic, and that does meant they'll get a little "warped" over time and could crack, so just keep that in mind. As far as holding hair in updos, these blow bobby pins out of the water. I still use bobby pins to keep my bangs out of my eyes in the heat or at night, but these Good Hair Day pins are my go-to for doing my usual updos when nothing else would work. I usually have to buy a new pack every 3 months or so, and not to replace every single one, but any fallen soldiers who cracked under the pressure. lol. For less than four bucks, these are great. I tell anyone who asks, and people have asked how I keep my updos from falling apart. So, if you're okay with replacing a few every so often and occasionally breaking one if you try to put too much hair into it, these are perfect. I haven't yet tried metal pins, but then I have yet to see any that don't look like they'd be painful and heavy. And Sally's is the only place I'm able to find them that's close to me or I can order online.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product So glad that I tried these. My hair is long but fine and thin, and 2 of these pins hold my bun in place well, usually all day. Yes, they break occasionally, but overall I am very pleased with them. Great value

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful product I have been looking everywhere for these pins. I only wish they were metal instead of plastic. Holds my hair much better than regular hairpins.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Magic Grip Hairpins These hairpins are wonderful. I've used them for years and then I had a hard time finding them. I finally went on line to find them a d Sally had them. NOTHING has ever kept my hair in a bun or what ever I want to do with my long hair but these pins. You have to get them and you 'll see I'm right. Thank you Sally so much. I ordered a tune of them this time. Fondly, Chaplain Melyssa

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for not being metal I needed some non metallic hair pins because I work in MRI I found these and gave them a try and they work very well. You have to be careful not to cross them together bec they aren't as durable as metal pins but I'm very happy with them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love Hate Relationship I love the way the pins work. They are so much more comfortable than bobby pins and I can hold a section of hair with just one of these versus 3 bobby pins. These are also easier to use. I can never seem to install bobby pins correctly. They either lay on my scalp or they don't hold the hair where I want them. But as some of the other reviewers have said, they are not durable if you have thick hair. I broke about 3 just trying it out the first time. I will use these up but won't repurchase. I will buy some durable hair forks instead. I have two in now but at least one will probably be unusable when I take it out tonight.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not durable I purchased these a week ago and was very excited about the concept of plastic hairpins. Metal hairpins irritate my scalp. Two have broken before I even arrived at work. I'm not using them to hold large amounts of hair or wearing a hat, the plastic is just not durable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great alternative to metal bobby pins! I happen to be allergic to nickel, which is manufactured in most metal products; bobby pins included. My skin and scalp suffer severe rashes and itching when coming into contact with metal bobby pins or jewelry. These plastic pins are a life-saver! They work great in holding my hair in place for a style. Or if I want to do a wash-n-go style and need to hold hair in place until it dries, these work just as well as the bobby pins. Sally Beauty, please continue to supply this product. I need it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from GREAT HAIR DAYS These are BY FAR the BEST hair clips I have EVER found!!!! I loved them soooo much I bought them for everyone at my work!!! I am a waitress so it is VERY important my hair stays neat and up. My hair is thick and very silky so I do have to tease it and hairspray it before I roll it up. (Thank you Redken) lol. They are easy to use, easy to remove. I keep them everywhere, my car my purse, my gym bag, makeup bag, I have quite a panic when I can't find one. LOL GREAT PRODUCT!!!! BYE BYE UGLY PONYTAILS!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love these hair pins I have very long hair. These are the only pins that hold my hair in place when I do my buns. You can't even see that they are in your hair. I love these! I hope they are not discontinued!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE Good Hair Days! I have bought these from Sally's as well as additional Good Hair Day's products from other retailers. Those of you who say the pins lose their shape, follow this hint. Wrap them in a rubber band over night and they will go back to the original state or pinch them almost closed and put them in your bun, along with one that has it's normal spread to hold the hair in place. I don't care that they stretch out a bit (they also go back on their own after a few days). I DO care however that they are Made In America! Go to their website and find what you like then suggest Sally's start retailing them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly Recommended I have been using this Good Hair Days hairpin for several years for protective hairstyling. It does not tear my thick, no 3B hair at all. The edges are smooth and it does not snag the hair. Gives an excellent hold for my chignon, updo styles.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from does what it says it will i have relaxed hair and used these to put my hair in a bun while wearing twist outs . they hold my hair securely without pulling or breaking my hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these clips I have very fine curly hair and when I don't blow it straight I wear it up and add a hair piece. When I used bobby pins to keep the pieces in occasionally the piece would fall out or become loose, with these clips my hair pieces are always secure no matter what. They do tend to stretch out after using but for me they still work when they are more open.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE these things They're worlds better than either large or small metal bobby pins. I have below shoulder length naturally curly hair, and I use these things all sorts of ways. The tortoiseshell colored ones just disappear into my hair so that I can randomly stick them in however needed, and you can't even see them. They hold great. I can do a complete curly updo in just a moment with a few of them, a smooth traditional French twist on curly or straight hair with a few, or a half-up do with a single one. They're flexible, so they don't break easily, yet they hold well. I keep a dozen or so in the bottom of my purse at all times. I hope they're never discontinued! Scunci used to sell exactly the same thing under their brand, but I no longer see theirs in the stores.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This are an adequate replacement for bobby pins I used to use these pins when I was wearing buns on a regular basis. The only thing is that they tend to lose their shape after prolonged usage. The trick to make it last as long as possible is not to force a thick amount of hair into the loop. Or else it will lose its shape quickly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for certain uses I wear hair pieces (falls, ponytails, etc.) sometimes, and I find that the ones with larger caps always sit askew on my head. I don't like using the regular metal hair pins b/c they scratch my scalp and rip my hair out, so I was happy to see these pins. I love them for what I use them for -- they work wonderfully well at attaching the hair piece, and are hidden from view. Most importantly, my hair isn't pulled or ripped by them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Way Better than Bobbie Pins My hair is thick, relaxed and MBL and I was looking for hair-friendly pins that could hold my hair securely when putting it up in a bun. I was previously using bobbie pins and I hated those because they would rip out hair when I put them in and took them out. These hold my hair very well with absolutely no tearing out of the hair. As someone pointed out previously, they lose their shape quickly, but I can bend mine right back into shape and they are good as new. I highly recommend trying these as a better alternative to bobbie pins.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What a Joke! They were nice alright....for 2-3 uses! After using them for just a few times they become forever stretched out beyond return! Keep your money.

Any videos on how to use them? I can’t get it to hold tightly. My hair is long and fine.

Asked by: NikkiK3333
Use the same way as regular hairpins (not bobby pins).  For example, when putting hair in a bun, insert the pin into the side of the bun perpendicular to your scalp, pick up some hair from along your scalp, turn the pin to lie flat against your head (pointing towards the center of the bun) & slide pin into bun.  Repeat with two or three more pins all around the bun. My hair is long and fine, too.  I only need about three or four pins to hold a bun or a french twist and they don’t slip out like hairpins tend to do.  Good luck.

Yes these are all plastic absolutely no metal. I have very long hair and these are the only pins that hold my hair firmly in place.

Can you use these for pin curling the hair instead of the metal ones

Asked by: Mimigkids3
I really don't think these would work for pin curls as they are more like regular hairpins than clips.

How to use this product?

I have silver hair and use three clear magic grips  to secure my hairdo placed in bun.  They hold up all day.  I have used them for 10 years and have never broken one.
