Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must for temporary pink hair This was recommended to me and I honestly LOVE it so much! It’s def a healthier alternative than dying your hair over and over again with pink hair dye! If you want to try pink hair but don’t want to have it last too long or not sure how you would look, 100% recommend! Comes out literally within 2-4 washes depending on how much you use

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holy Grail the hot red is the most amazing product i’ve found! i’ve gone through at least 10 tubes. it’s the perfect way to keep my hair vibrant without always having to pull out a bowl and brush. I’M EXTREMELY ANGRY THAT THIS IS BEING DISCONTINUED. Typical that i would find something i love for an amazing price and it’s not going to be in production anymore.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The worst hair dye ever! No wonder it got recalled I bought this product a year ago and i will never ever use it ever again. I went to get my hair lightened and the hot red never came out! It will take me years to be able to get it cut out! I can't even tone my hair with out the red showing through! Unless if I shave my head bald! I am entirely disappointed in this product. I thought it would be temporary, but oh, just you wait honey. When you want to lighten your hair, my suggestion is dont if you had used the hot red. Go darker and wait 2 years for your hair to grow out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Product, Read Directions I love this product, I've used sky blue and magenta. This product does EXACTLY what it's designed to do. All the bad reviews are for people who were using it incorrectly or didn't know what kind of product this is. It's for people who have already colored their hair and want to MAINTAIN their color with frequent washing. So, I have blue hair, I wash after a long sweaty couple of days, and instead of regular conditioner I use sky blue to upkeep my color. Directions say to use on WET hair, not dry, not damp, not moist. Wet. Hair. As in right after shampooing in the shower. Leave it on for 3-5 minutes, yes only 3-5 minutes because these are super pigmented which makes them so good at what they do. It can be used as a regular semi permanent dye BUT know that it comes out much darker. Overall I'd love more range in the colors, but that obviously wouldn't be profitable for the brand cause they're almost too good at maintaining color.

I have used hair color remover and the blue is still in my hair, in fact it made it a green color. How do I get it out of my hair because the green tint looks horrible!

Asked by: Dinky077
Yes, and St. Patrick's day is long gone. Your problem now requires pro help. Most likely the color remover has changed the color of your hair in its' cortex-if it was a peroxide based remover. Even white looking hair can become almost bright gold/yellow- yellow and blue makes green! This is a chemistry problem. Most likely the blue was just a coating-semi perm color now the remover you used has opened the the hair cuticle and deposited making it more permanent. There is no way to go back that you could handle. Hope you're in lock down!! The CoVid made you do it!! No more peroxide/perm colors for a while. Try to invision yourself in a nice warm-red brown semi perm color that will be easier for a pro to correct later. Condition, and use a shampoo for colored hair until you can get to someone who understands the chemistry of hair color. Whatever you do, don't do black- it will not lift out well at all. Sorry.

Is this permanent color or no??

Asked by: Anonymous
Depending on the color you use, it can be considered close to permanent. Anything on blonde hair will probably stain. The red is pretty close to permanent, it just fades some.

Can I use this stuff with jet black hair??

Asked by: Aggiepoo
I'll bet the red hot would work! That stuff is amazing but will stain what it touches. Tip: spray bleach in the tub to get out stains then rinse.

How can I get Sky blue out of my hair fast?

Asked by: britni369
I personally used the Ion semi permanent Sky Blue... and six months later, it's still there, LOL! I've tried clarifying shampoos, etc., but the color remains. Thankfully, it's a very pretty color... The best results I've had to "cover" it was dying over it with Ion permanent fuchsia... the blue turns a lovely shade of purple! Best of luck, this stuff has some serious staying power!

Is this to add to a permanent hair dye?

Asked by: Mary1986
I can't say what the effects would be if you added it to permanent dye but I don't think it's for that. It's more of a conditioner that refreshes the color in hair that's already been dyed than anything you'd want to add as part of an initial treatment. I dye my hair blue with semi-permanent dye and after a month or so when a lot of the color has washed out I use this "Ion Color Depositing Masque" every few days in the shower to freshen up the blue, but it only lasts a shower or two.

How do I get the blue out of my hair? It’s wayyy to vibrant & I feel like I’m rebelling against my parents again lol someone help

Asked by: Sammi999
Head & Shoulders Dandruff Shampoo. It absolutely strips color out. If you over tone with purple or blue or with any (not sure about red) semi or demi permanant color it will come out. Completely coat your hair (not sparingly) and leave it on for at least 15 minutes. If it doesn't lift all of the color, use it again and leave it on longer (it does not damage your hair). Make sure to do a deep conditioning thereafter. This has taken deep purple, lavender, blue & pink out of my hair.

Asked by: Monatanya
I use the ion pigment red hot to keep the color in my hair. Especially when my roots grow out, and I don't want to keep up with the dye it helps keeps my hair nice and red! I love this stuff depending on how red your hair already is, the red-hot May brighten it up.

It essentially just stains your hair to refresh the color... and then stains everything else. Use gloves when you apply and be prepared see bleeding when you sweat.

I have red balayage on my very dark brown hair. Will this product color my whole hair or only the red strands? Also, do I apply it all over my hair like a regular conditioner or strand by strand? - Thanks for any advice!

Asked by: mrojas008
I mean, use logic. When you 'wash' the entire head of hair with a temporary to semi-permanent color, yea, it's going to stain ALL of the hair. The virgin, or natural hair will barely accept the color because it is healthy with a closed cuticle.(and whatever color is on there, will easily wash off) The processed hair (by ANY chemical service) will not be as healthy. The cuticle will be open and pull in more color. Depending on HOW porous, the color could last for months there. Better to do a strand test on both kinds of hair.

i have light blonde porous hair and the golden tones fade quickly after I color my hair w/Clairol Lt Gold Blonde, so I thought I'd try the Honey Blonde to give me some golden back, but can't afford a weird color. will it give me a soft or harsh gold tone

Asked by: JeJe7373
You mentioned your hair is porous. I'm guessing from coloring. That's a great clue. You should deep-condition your hair with a good protein/moisturizer product first to equalize the porosity. Rinse & towel-dry, then apply your color of choice and check strands every 5 min (use towel and rub the product off just a few strands and view those strands in bright, clear light. I prefer sunlight) until you see the coverage and depth of color you want.

No. Your hair is too dark. It may give it a hint of magenta in the sun, but other than a slight hue it will not show. If you want it vibrant you need to lighten first.

It should disappear within a few days time; a little more each day, since this is temporary color.
