Rated 5 out of 5 by from amazing! this stuff is super super great. stays in longer than dye tbh! if you're looking for temporary hair color, this isn't for you. i've used 5 different colors of this and love all of them. yes they're hard to remove, but a quick bleach wash or color remover will strip if you really wanna get it out. if you're looking to extend the life of your hair color, THIS IS IT!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Blue Heaven Absolutely love this. So sad to see it go. Definitely wear gloves! If it gets onto tile or tub, cleaning with some Bar Keepers Friend or vinegar should remove any stains.

Is this to add to a permanent hair dye?

Asked by: Mary1986
I can't say what the effects would be if you added it to permanent dye but I don't think it's for that. It's more of a conditioner that refreshes the color in hair that's already been dyed than anything you'd want to add as part of an initial treatment. I dye my hair blue with semi-permanent dye and after a month or so when a lot of the color has washed out I use this "Ion Color Depositing Masque" every few days in the shower to freshen up the blue, but it only lasts a shower or two.

Will you be getting more of the magenta color for this product?

Asked by: Taylor2433
Yes I will. It's so easy to use. I can use as much or as little as I want. I can just use it on my roots or can apply to my whole head.

Sally brands (ion, BTZ, among others) are going through a manufacturer change. So a lot of items are gone for the time being during this change.

Will you be bringing this back? I really like the Auburn for blending with my highlights when I shampoo. But your online site and the 3 Sally's shops in my area are sold out. Hoping you're just repackaging, NOT discontinuing!

I actually have extras that I will not be using.  I feel the Auburn makes my hair to dark.  It is easy to use, just wish they had other color options

I just started using the titanium shade. (The store only had 1) now they have discontinued it again!? Why, I love this color and it has great reviews. We have 3 stores fairly close and they weren't able to keep it on the shelves it was so popular!

I order online. Saves me the trouble of having to worry about items like color or pigment being in stock at my local store store.

How do I get the blue out of my hair? It’s wayyy to vibrant & I feel like I’m rebelling against my parents again lol someone help

Asked by: Sammi999
Head & Shoulders Dandruff Shampoo. It absolutely strips color out. If you over tone with purple or blue or with any (not sure about red) semi or demi permanant color it will come out. Completely coat your hair (not sparingly) and leave it on for at least 15 minutes. If it doesn't lift all of the color, use it again and leave it on longer (it does not damage your hair). Make sure to do a deep conditioning thereafter. This has taken deep purple, lavender, blue & pink out of my hair.

I recently dyed my hair with Loreal hicolor hilights magenta and red I want the bottom half brighter than what it is could I use the red hot to brighten my hair?

Asked by: Monatanya
I use the ion pigment red hot to keep the color in my hair. Especially when my roots grow out, and I don't want to keep up with the dye it helps keeps my hair nice and red! I love this stuff depending on how red your hair already is, the red-hot May brighten it up.

Asked by: Anonymous
It essentially just stains your hair to refresh the color... and then stains everything else. Use gloves when you apply and be prepared see bleeding when you sweat.

I recently put in Arctic Fox hair dye color Wrath and I can't figure out weather to use the hot red pigment or the magenta pigment to maintain my hair color for longer. Which one is better for that?? (My natural hair color was a light brown)

I use the magenta to help maintain my purple hair color. So you’re best bet is to go with the red hot.

WHAT COLOR SHOULD I USE?! There is NO description as to what each color does on natural hair. I have no idea what the base color of the more natural browns is. (It's pretty obvious on the bright red, yellow, and blue primary colors) Seriously Ion?

Asked by: Boomerful
I haven’t used any of the others, but the Natural Brown turned my bleached blonde hair dark brown. Beware though...it doesn’t fade out 100%...which was okay with me because I wanted to go back to my natural light brown. Hope that helps!

I have red balayage on my very dark brown hair. Will this product color my whole hair or only the red strands? Also, do I apply it all over my hair like a regular conditioner or strand by strand? - Thanks for any advice!

Asked by: mrojas008
I mean, use logic. When you 'wash' the entire head of hair with a temporary to semi-permanent color, yea, it's going to stain ALL of the hair. The virgin, or natural hair will barely accept the color because it is healthy with a closed cuticle.(and whatever color is on there, will easily wash off) The processed hair (by ANY chemical service) will not be as healthy. The cuticle will be open and pull in more color. Depending on HOW porous, the color could last for months there. Better to do a strand test on both kinds of hair.

i have light blonde porous hair and the golden tones fade quickly after I color my hair w/Clairol Lt Gold Blonde, so I thought I'd try the Honey Blonde to give me some golden back, but can't afford a weird color. will it give me a soft or harsh gold tone

Asked by: JeJe7373
You mentioned your hair is porous. I'm guessing from coloring. That's a great clue. You should deep-condition your hair with a good protein/moisturizer product first to equalize the porosity. Rinse & towel-dry, then apply your color of choice and check strands every 5 min (use towel and rub the product off just a few strands and view those strands in bright, clear light. I prefer sunlight) until you see the coverage and depth of color you want.

I have virgin black hair. Will magenta show on my hair?

Asked by: Yessicasings
No. Your hair is too dark. It may give it a hint of magenta in the sun, but other than a slight hue it will not show. If you want it vibrant you need to lighten first.

Used the titanium tonight on my bleached blonde hair to try to achieve gray. Mixed 1:1 with conditioner and ended up with cobalt blue strands through the blonde.  Very prominent.  Any advice to restore the blonde or gray?  Possible toner?

It should disappear within a few days time; a little more each day, since this is temporary color.

So I have blonde hair , I used to purple color on my hair . I was wondering if my blonde will completely come back and how long the purple would take to wash out?

Asked by: Angel12100
How long it lasts depends on the porosity of your hair and how often you use shampoo. The purple will fade, but ur most likely going to have pieces of pink lingering. Try using a clarifying shampoo a few times before using lightener to get the pink spots out.

I bought the neon purple and Jade. I have 2 kids with blonde hair and 2 with brown hair. If they just use it twice and then wash normally. Will it be out of their hair before school starts in August? I was going to do the purple in the blonde hair.

Asked by: Gargo Low
My daughter has done the red, and the natural brown colors in her hair for musical theatre productions.   Her real hair color is dark blonde/light light brown.   You may have to do a Malibu treatment, dawn dish soap, or even highlight some remnants to get it looking back to normal.  We had to do some professional highlights to get the last bit of the colored tinge out of her hair.
