  • Compare to Matrix Biolage Conditioning Balm Deeply moisturizes over-dry damaged hair Provides shine, silkiness, and softness

GVP Conditioning Balm replenishes dry stressed hair. Infused with botanical moisturizers it hydrates and restores dry, damaged hair. Compare to Matrix Biolage Conditioning Balm and save!

The GVP Generic Value Products line was formed because a group of experienced chemists and marketing personnel knew they could produce a product as good as the higher priced quality name brands.

  • After shampooing, massage into wet hair. Leave in 1-3 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. For intense conditioning, leave conditioning balm in hair 1-3 minutes.
  • Before you go into the pool or the sun, wet your hair and work in some GVP Conditioning Balm. The conditioner will help to keep the pool chemicals from absorbing into your hair. If you can, rinse your hair with plain water after getting out of the pool, so that pool water does not dry your hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all around! This is great for a leave in conditioner as well as a daily moisturizing conditioner for curly hair.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Parabens :( My hair loved this stuff. I went through a bottle of this and was about to be on my second bottle before I looked at the ingredients... and found it has parabens. As much as I liked this stuff, I had to return it. No reason to use a product with parabens when there are tons of good, natural, paraben-free products out there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of my favorites This is one of my favorite Sally products. I can use this for several days in a row and see a huge improvement in my hair. Works great for CO washing as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Awesome Stuff! I own both the old and new versions, and there's no major difference between both. Glycerin is last in the new version, however, the amount of glycerin in it is so minimal, till it's barely noticeable at all. The 7 ingredients in any product is what makes the biggest impact on ones hair. Also, the new formula has parabens, and it should be noted that there is no concrete scientific evidence anywhere that states that all parabens cause cancer or any specific paraben causes cancer to be exact. A person can catch cancer for any reason, whether it be from breathing in toxins, smoking, excessive drinking, or lots of other variables. Some people are complaining about the product's formulation change and they haven't even tried the product yet. Which isn't 100% fair to do, if you haven't actually tried something out at all, before speaking negative about it. At least give the new formulation a try and see how well or not it happens to work for your own individual hair. Because, none of us, have the same hair genetically, plus we all have vastly different hair needs, so that should always be factored in when it comes to trying any new product. You don't know if a product will truly work for you or not, unless you personally try it out for yourself. Oh, and the consistenies of both formulations are the same and so is the smell. The smell I is't the best, but it's definitely not the worst either. My local Sally's does offer the liter size for this product, however, I'm not sure if all Sally Beauty Supply stores do sell it in-store at this time (you'd have to personally look for it in-store to know). The liter size contains the new formula, however, they were still selling the old formula in the smaller sizes, when I went to buy it. So, I also bought more of the old formula as well. But, of course, the old formula will eventually be phased out, so if you are a die-hard fan of the old formula, then you can check around and see if there's any Sally's locations near you that still sells it and stock up on such if you wish. Nonetheless, my hair happens to love both formulations and I will definitely continuing buying this product for as long as Sally's continue's to make it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Thick It's nice conditioner but it is so thick that you can't hardly get it out of the bottle. I even added water to the bottle but it didn't make a difference. Toothpaste is thinner. I have curly hair and this is curly girl approved but my hair gets flat from it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Conditioning balm I have heard rave reviews about this product from a lot of women in a CG (Curly Girl) group, so thought I would give it a try. It was very thick/heavy for my daughter's curly hair, but both she and I had some success with it as part of a deep conditioning treatment. The smell was a little strong for us, though. Not sure if we will buy again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This stuff is the bomb!! This is the exact same as the original at a fraction of the cost. After falling in love with this Biolage balm from Matrix, and finding the generic brand, it's all I will purchase. Its especially good for chemically processed hair. I use this and the coconut cowash every other time I wash my hair. Perfection.

This product had changed slightly and now has the dreaded glycerin (at least dreaded for me).

Yes! Great leave in. I put it on soaking wet hair or water it down. Leaves hair soft and shiny. No residue, no weight.

I see on the picture the bottle says " new improved formula" but the ingredients listed are the same. Please tell me they didn't ruin a great product by trying to improve on it. Has anyone tried the " new" formula?

Asked by: Tracy872
I haven't tried it yet.  I'm working on my last bottle from the previous formula.  My sister however has warned me that the new formula dosn't work in her hair. so sad! Ive been using this conditioner with great success for years!

My daughter used my flat iron on her weave and I did not realize she had turned my flat iron all the way up to 450 degrees.  Now My hair is severely heat damaged.  Will this product help with my issue?

Asked by: 2Tallholt
I am not a professional but i would suggest a deep conditioner for awhile. Then this conditioner as it is a nice daily moisturizing conditioner comparable to Matrix.
