  • Ideal for permed, tinted or relaxed hair Rebuilds hair structure for six weeks Stops hair breakage
Aphogee Two Step Protein Treatment is a unique treatment formulated with magnesium and modified proteins which fuse into the hair with the application of heat. The result is that breakage is drastically reduced. ApHogee Two-Step Protein Treatment is a salon service product unlike any product available for at-home use. During the process, ApHogee treatment hardens into the hair, dramatic evidence that something special is occurring.
  • Shake well before use. Gently cleanse hair with ApHogee Shampoo. Rinse thoroughly and towel blot. Apply enough ApHogee Treatment to thoroughly saturate hair and comb blend for even distribution. Leave hair uncovered. Do not use a plastic cap, and seat client under medium heat dryer. (Alternatively, a hand dryer may be used, but hair should not be agitated while drying.)

Note: When ApHogee Treatment is dried into the hair, the hair becomes extremely hard. Do not comb or brush hair while ApHOGEE Treatment is dried and in the hair. Re-wet and gently rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Apply ApHogee Moisturizer to hair and scalp. Leave for 2 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Proceed to next service or style as usual.

  • CAUTION: Please read and follow instructions on back label carefully! Use Aphogee Balancing Moisturizer after use of the Two Step Protein Treatment. Requires heat for best results. When protein has dried, do not bend or agitate hair. Always rinse thoroughly with luke warm water and follow with Balancing Moisturizer. For color treated hair, it is best to use prior to freshining color. Two-Step Protein Treatment is for Professional Use. For best results a hooded dryer is required.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing product! My hair had been breaking off due to the change in weather plus color treatment. After 1 use of the 2-step process, I had noticeable improvement in my 3c hair strength! I’ve now used it twice and it has made a world of difference. I will continue to use monthly as part of my hair care routine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hold Your Nose and Take the Plunge! Every head of hair needs some protein to keep it strong and fill in those areas of our hair that mechanical damage has gotten to. This hard protein is an amazingly transformative product. I used a bottle with a nozzle to apply to my hair. I find that is the best way because the spray option is too messy and a nozzle is precise and doesn’t waste product. I even use this for my human hair wigs to make sure I can wear them for years without issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Miracle in a bottle This product has literally transformed my hair in minutes. I've spent the past few years and a ridiculous amount of money on products to help my very dry and brittle hair. My hair was lifeless, couldn't hold moisture, and was a mess. I receive so much breakage anytime I simply touched my hair. Whenever I washed or deep conditioned, there were balls of hair that would come out. Moisturizing deep conditioners wouldn't penetrate and I avoided "protein-treatments" because I thought dry hair = need more moisture, not protein. I now realize that my hair needed the protein to hold onto the moisture. I just washed my hair, and this is the first time in years that I didn't leave hair balls in the shower. My hair (natural, fine, 4a/3c) looks and FEELS so strong, healthy, and moisturized. This is now a holy grail product for me. I don't know yet how often I will use it (bottle suggests every 6 weeks, but I'm going to keep an eye on my hair, and use it as needed and when I need that boost of protein).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Aphogee treatment vs. deep moisturizing treatment I’m still waiting to see results... I will repeat the treatment every week to restore my damaged hair. I’m just not sure if protein is what I need vs. moisture, so I’m going to do a deep moisturizing treatment and compare the results.

Is the step one safe to use with a blow dryer? On what setting..hi or low? Directions say it’s ok to use hand held blow dryer but hair should not be agitated...what does that mean?

Asked by: Michelle R
It means: don't blow your hair all over your head, in all different directions. Try to keep your hair in a uniform manner as it dries.

Not quite. You apply the protein treatment to your hair, and dry it until hardened. Then you carefully rinse it out.

No the protein must dry hard with a blow dryer or hard hat dry to bond to the hair. It must be completely dry then rinsed You may use a heat cap with step 2.

Asked by: Rahma1155
6 weeks if really damaged.  I recommend using the shampoo and conditioner all the time.  .  Maker sure you leave conditioner for at least 5 minutes.  Keratin helps make hair stronger.  My daughter has been using it for two years and her hair went from broken and damaged to long and strong, thin hair.

It should because its a protein treatment and protein is strength. So protein for strength/breakage part and moisture for the dry part

My hair is very long and dry. I bought the two step treatment and moisture balancer. How often should I do this in the beginning. At least till my hair feels better

Asked by: Lshivers
The two step treatment is a very strong protein and shouldn't  be use too often. I use the two step ever 6-8 weeks sometime longer depending on what my hair needs. I only use it when my hair seems to be shedding more than normal or very weak from moisture overload. Sounds like you need a deep conditioner hair mask to restore moisture. Good luck!

After using this product do you also put on the conditioner or just the Balance Moisturizer, hair dry and style?

Asked by: honeyboo74
After rinsing the protein treatment, apply the Balancing Moisturizer.  Rinse and then dry and style your hair normally.  Treatment is good for about 4 to 6 weeks.  No added benefit to doing more frequently than that.  A Weekly Masque Treatment is good for in-between protein treatments.

How often should this be used?

Asked by: Hellohair
At minimum only once every 4 weeks as there is no additional benefit to using more frequently than that.  I personally use this every 6 to 8 weeks and in between use a weekly masque treatment for keeping my aging curly hair soft and manageable.

Probably a silly question but if you do not have a hooded dryer can you just sit outside in the sun to get the necessary heat for processing? I can't imagine standing there holding a blow dryer to my hair for 30 minutes straight. Thanks!

What might happen if someone mistakenly uses the treatment two consecutive weeks?

Asked by: caihong1
Hi. Don't worry. When my hair has been in rough shape due to coloring, heat and breakage, I use this 2 or 3 weeks in a row and then I'm good for 3-4 months. Think of it as a coat of protein. If hair has mild damage, 1 coat is good enough. You MUST use a moisturizing conditioner, since protein is drying. Happy Hair Strengthening:-)

Protein treatments can change hair color. You should do a treatment like this before color not after and obviously in between color. If you read everything on this page and all the directions for the product it tells you that

How many steps?

I purchased after the gal at the store recommend it. But only noticed after I got home that it says 2 steps. This was all I bought - what is the first step and will I damage my hair if I use this by itself?
Asked by: Babymaker28
There are 2 steps to this treatment. The second step is the moisture treatment. This is a follow up after the protein is rinsed from the hair.

Will this stop my hair from falling out?

A few months ago I tried bleaching my hair and it went really, really wrong. So I went to the salon and got my hair dyed to cover up my bleach mistake & bought some matrix shampoo and conditioner. My hair is doing a bit better now, I cut it but I'm still losing a lot of hair on one side. I've tried almost everything. Can you please tell me if this product will save my hair? Thank you.
Asked by: angzombie
YES. By bleaching hair you are basically stripping it of all pigments and with that, a lot of the keratin (protein that hair is made up of). Because our bleached locks have less protein, they are more porous, weak, and prone to breakage. By using this product you are replenishing the keratin that the color, especially if a high volume developer was used, stripped away. The protein will basically harden and fuse with your hair, making it feel fuller and thicker now that it has a protective coat around it. However, too much protein can cause the hair to break even more so use it sparingly! I was losing hair like CRAZY and this helped a ton. Afterwards, follow up with a moisturizing treatment to keep your hair quenched and healthy. Hope this helps!
