Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don’t expect the item pictured This is not the product that is pictured. You get the new formulation which is not the same and not as good in my opinion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and non-sticky I have limp, fine hair. This product gives my hair body and volume. Other products weigh my hair down. I love this and will keep buying it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and Subtle I blow dry my hair because it's more manageable than allowing it to air dry. This mousse takes some of the "poof" out of my hair and gives it texture without being overly sticky. The best way to use mousse is, "hands in, hands out." Be quick and don't over fuss with it.

Can Biotera Alcohol-free Mousse be used on dry hair as well as wet hair? I was told as Sally Beauty, where I purchased it, that it could be.  The can says only wet hair. What is the correct way to use it?

Asked by: MaryJacq
I have found, if put on dry hair it makes it feel crunchy.  Should only be used on wet hair.

Is this mouse silicone free?

Asked by: Martyann
It contains a water soluble silicone called PEG/PPG-17/18 Dimethicone, aka pegppg-1718 dimethicone. Water soluble silicone rinses out with water. A co wash will wash it out just fine. You could clarify wash once a month or every other month if your hair is prone to buildup. This is not regular Dimethicone, which is NOT water soluble and will not wash out with just water. Hope this helps.

How strong of a hold does this mousse have? Most cans of mousse have a number (1-4) to indicate how strong the hold is.  Thanks!

Asked by: BessBess
I have very fine, soft hair, and this mousse gives my hair a nice boost of volume. The mousse doesn't have a lot of "hold". I have to use a little hairspray to hold my style. The main advantage of this mousse (and the matching shampoo) is that it feels and looks like you have more hair. (Which is awesome for someone with thin, baby-fine hair like mine!)

What are the ingredients in Alcohol Free Styling Mousse?

Asked by: KarenP56
Alcohol Free. Mousse is the mousse I am allowed to use. There are too many ingredients for me to list, but Alcohol is not one of them. It is hard to find, so I always go to Sally’s to get mine. Walmart and some pharmacies don’t carry it. The mousse works well and causes no burning or itching to the scalp! If you have had or are having problems with alcohol hair products, I will attest to the fact that the alcohol free is very, very good. I’ve been using it about two years now. It’s the only one allowed for me to use!
