Rated 2 out of 5 by from Coily hair I needed something to moisten my hair without leaving it feeling heavy... I have super thick coily hair and trust me it works... Not the best smelling but it gets the job done!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Deep Conditioning For whatever reason, my Skin and Hair respond best to Shea. I use this product as a Deep Conditioning Treatment after I give my hair a Protein Pack Treatment (every 8-weeks). I've tried other Deep Conditioning Treatments after my Protein Pack, but this one works best for me. My hair just seems to soak it up-- leaving my hair Soft, Smooth, and Silky. Please be aware that I do use heat with both these Treatments. I have a Bonnet-style Hairdryer and apply heat for 30-minutes for each Treatment. If your Hair responds to Shea, I highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT FOR THICK DRY HAIR So I have been natural for almost a year now (Nov 24 will be official 12 months post big chop) and even when I was relaxed I struggled with really dry hair. Dry hair leads to breakage and a lot of other problems so it was something I was desperate to find a solution to. For the longest I thought oils would solve my problem (and trust me I tried a handful of oils) and while they did make my hair oily they weren't moisturizing my hair. The problem is not oil however, the problem is that oil wasn't what my hair needed. Only this past week did I actually learn that because of my thick hair type, in order to moisturize my hair I would need a thick moisturizer and normally oil alone would not work unless I had more of a finer hair type. And trust me this product is thick, but more importantly it is SO MOISTURIZING. My hair has literally never felt so soft or moisturized and I seriously have to give this a 5/5 especially for those of you who have thick hair. Sorry this was so long, I'm just genuinely surprised by the fact that I've finally found something that works with my hair type.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice product alone, but soupy shea butter mix. This shea butter has a pale and very light yellow look to it with faint nutty smell. When I use the shea butter alone it was easy to use and it melt into my skin easily. However, there was one big major con with using this shea butter. I tried making a whipped shea butter mix and it came out soupy. No water was added. Just 80% shea butter, coconut oil, grapeseed oil, and tea tree oil. It's a soupy texture and I am disappointed. I still have a little shea butter left, so I will try again and see how my second shea butte batch comes out. I never had a problem like this before with mixing shea butter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what my hair needed I just recently purchased this and tried it as soon as I got home and braided down my curls for the night. It was perfect. It moisturized the ends of my hair well. It does have a nutty smell that reminds me of almond and bit of chocolate (almost like cocoa butter to me.) I have been using it often and a little goes a long way. I have high porosity hair and have only used coconut oil and I don't think my hair likes it as much as I want it too, lol so I needed another sealant and I am glad I decided to go with this one! I just mixed it into a oil mixture and it blended smoothly with my other oils. It took a minute to fully melt it down but it did so seamlessly. Great buy for me!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful product for DIY projects! I purchase this to use in my homemade soaps & it's WONDERFUL! Product would work great in homemade skin or hair lotions & other DIY concoctions! The reason it looks yellow, has a different texture & a nutty odor is because it's RAW, unrefined Shea Butter- that's how it's SUPPOSED to look! If you wanted something more smooth, odorless & white, you would want REFINED Shea Butter, but unfortunately, Shea Butter loses much of it's vitamin- enriched benefits in the refinement process. Unrefined Shea Butter is the way to go if you want optimal benefits & results from the product. Luckily, unrefined Shea melts down just as beautifully as refined Shea, so if you find yourself turned-off by the color and/or consistency of unrefined, melt it down & use it in your own DIY recipe for whatever ails you! You can find tons of homemade recipes that feature Shea Butter online for a plethora of uses (hair, skin, nails, soaps, lotions, etc etc), and you'll benefit from all the wonderful vitamins, antioxidants and more that unrefined Shea Butter offers over refined Shea Butter. There's so many online sources that sell Unrefined Shea Butter, but I like the fact that I can just run over to my local Sallys whenever the mood strikes me to make a batch of wonderful, homemade Shea Butter soap, and I don't have to wait for shipping. I'm an instant gratification type of person so I don't like to wait, and the price is very reasonable. An excellent product that I highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best product for very dry hands and feet I have been using Proclaim Shea Butter for the past year, and it has totally changed my skin on my hands and feet. As women age, it isn't uncommon to have dry skin, especially if you spend a lot of time outdoors. I couldn't seem to find a lotion that would adequately stay on my feet, especially at night time, and one that would also hydrate my hands without making them greasy. Proclaim seems to do a great job with both. I keep a container in the shower so that it warms up in the moist heat, and when I am finished showering or bathing, I apply the shea butter on my legs, feet and hands and it goes right into my skin. I really love this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No This was a bad buy. Maybe the formula changed...I don't know. It used it within the allotted six months. The inside was tacky. It felt like grits in my hand. Rubbing it in didn't help. I warmed it up, that helped a bit, but there was so benefit to using it. It made my hair drier. It couldn't use it on my body because of how it would dry. I regret this so much. It's definitely not worth the money, no matter how cheap it is. Hopefully, others will have a better experience.

my hair is relaxed. is it okay to use proclaim shea butter on my relaxed hair?

I hope it want take my relaxer out. what would be the best hair dressing for my relaxed hair? I thought I could use this proclaim shea for it.
Asked by: blackgirl25
Relaxers are permanent. Nothing can 'take them out' once it processed your hair. After you've neutralized and washed out the relaxer, it's no longer 'in your hair', you just have a new texture. Sometimes when people get relaxers, their hair is stubborn and only stays straight for a period of time or the texture is very resilient and refuses to change at all. Also the Shea will probably condition your hair and reduce breakage and split ends. That's what it does for my relaxed hair anyway. How you use it depends on you. I like using it as a leave-in after cleaning and conditioning. It's also a great styling product and sealant that I use in the summer for humidity (too much weighs my hair down). You could also melt it, mix it with other oils, and let it re-harden into a softer more malleable cream. When I'm not using it in my hair, I use it as a body lotion

PROCLAIM 100% PURE SHEA BUTTER

What's the origin of this Shea Butter? i.e. East or West Africa. Is it Fair Trade? Thanks.
Asked by: HealthyHairCareNC

Since it says its 100% pure Shea butter, is this a high enough quality of a product for diy hair moisturizers and/or lotions?
